Obtaining a letter from your doctor specifying your physical limitations is certainly very very helpful. The requirement is that you conduct the work search for jobs that you could conceivably perform in your current state. Often times the insurance company will ask if you have had this discussion with your doctor and if you do have a letter from them. Perhaps you should make an appointment to speak to your doctor, or at the very least follow up with a phone call.
