Steve Lukather One of the greatest guitar players ever.

Just such a smooth player. Makes every effect sound great.
I love that Luke is always humble and appreciative of the life that he has been given. Love you Luke!
Luke. Untouchable. The MAN!
What a great sense of humour and great player too.
all good guitar players loves Steve Llukather..
good of him to give a nod to Big Jim Sullivan - this fellow the "no words" - just licks and riffs - sidekick on the Tom Jones Show, early 70s. as young a impressionable lad I was mesmerized by Big Jim - he turned me on to guitar - he was also a superb musician, not just a guitar player. I understand he tutored some very big Brit guitar gods on their way up. Love Big Jim's style. Tele and Ricky I recall - listen to She's a Lady for a sample
Stellar collection of guitars, and he is one of the greatest; so well deserved I'd say.
I LOVE TOTO AND STEVE LUKATER =)
One of the best ten guitarist-musician of the world…!!!!
I agree totally
he is sooooo lucky !!! He's a book of historyyy !!!
circular delay (pcm70) is just awesome.. some king like long reverb..
steve is the man..
something* lol typo
I really admire the talents of Steve....u
Just Love watching Luke do anything.
he can play jass or pop or metal steve lukather
Awesome Always !
Awesome musicman guitars.
Monster player - but then again - he did have to live up to Jeff Porcaro's standards: and he was up to the challenge - well done Luke.
steve is such a fine player
Thank you so much for this video!!!
Steve: "Guitar tech to the stars!"
Bison: "...and you"
Damn, Luke - you just got roasted into oblivion.
I wish that I had your talent as I love how you can make a guitar sing....
Great sound!!
the guitar tech is the man!!
The master at work.
Luke....every accolade has already been bestowed. I weigh in with " Genius "
@5:30 he say's "you can kinda dig where thats at" lol! that tone is F-ing bad ass!
if you believe that, you are clueless. Super solid built quality guitars. I have been playing them for 12 years and they hold up to everything.
Steve plays anything!
stev lukather is the best bluess
Lone the "sustain from hell " tone
I enjoyed Steve's demonstration of his effects, particularly the univibe effect.I am glad that he used this particular guitar from his collection as I wanted to hear what it would sound like as soon as I saw it earlier ;I wasn't disappointed !
Steve! You were once the lead guitarist of a very awesome band: TOTO.
I would love to see you put together a real "rockin' - not fusion" band with emphasis on the classic rock sound. I am a fan. Myself, I've been everywhere in music. I can do Jazz, Fusion, Blues, etc. but NOTHING does it for me like ROCK! Anyway, much much respect admiration from me man. MUCH! You're awesome dude!
@MrUltraworld I play a Schecter with an Emg 81 in the bridge and a pair of SA's in the neck and middle. I've never experienced the problems you say, and i'm a very dynamic player and play a wide range of styles. I find the 81 pushes any amp or PA to get a really chunky sound. but thanks for your comments, because its interesting to see other problems people have with pickups i've always loved.
Legend guitaris in the Word !!!
@stu748r The ToneBones are great. Has a nice tone on its own, and you can also set it to boost the front end of your amp. Delicious...
@96MetalMonster I've been a luthier since 1980, I own 100 guitars, no junk. .The low impedance concept is very sound, just look around any studio. Les Paul made & used them in his own guitars. The lower impedance coupled with a low voltage battery powered pre amp makes for a very quiet guitar signal. Luke runs through a very elaborate Bradshaw rig & the quiet EMG's help with signal loss & noise. But they have a sterile sound with poor dynamics,
@MrUltraworld Alembic, Langcaster, Seymour Duncan, Q-Tuner all make great Low Z pickups that sound alive. add one of EMG's great EQ circuits & you'll have an extremely versitile guitar the will easily do metal or Jazz. The Alembic strat set sounds very close to the old fender single coils, but there's no noise. If your going to go with Low Z pickups, look at the diffferent manufacturers & EQ circuits. Happy hunting Kevin
R.I.P Geoff "The Bison" Banks.
@TheCollisionofworlds I'm a Luthier by trade. The EMG Zakk Wylde set is the number one pickup set I get asked to install by far. Mostly these are going into Epi Les Pauls. These are run into a chainsaw sounding amp (with a pedal in front of it) But no one brings me a PRS or a real Les Paul or a Strat for a set.
5:30 sounds like Stranger in this Town by Richie Sambora :)
@96MetalMonster I have a Red Quilt C1Hellraiser. That I like a lot. I added the Strat presence (SPC) control & it makes for beautiful, almost acoustic clean tones. The SA is a nice sounding pick up too. Cheers
What thing do Steve and John Petrucci have in common? And I'm not talking about Music Man guitars.

referring their tone to a freaking chocolate CAKE!
one would have to meet him once
Asph156 I met him.
Fucking love it
06:03...The delay is KILLER!!!
Guess that is his famous circular delay.
@@dstfno yes!
@ESPsandEmgs Actually, EMGs in a good guitar can be good for all styles of music. Also, the EMG 85 seems to work very well in the Luke signatures. I bought a Luke BFR in Blackburst finish. I thought of replacing the bridge with an EMG 81, but the EMG 85 in the bridge turned out sweet. That in conjunction with the fact that I own guitars with EMG 81s made the decision very easy for me. The EMG 85 stays... XD
He makes it look so easy..
I am now the proud owner of that Dargie!
awesome nice video thanks
Love the Luke!!! Read his book!
I believe Big Jim was one of the go-to session players in London in the 60s, alongside Jimmy Page. Just showing Luke my hipster credentials here ;)
Steve el mas grande
His voice was way lower ten years back. I guess it was the drinking and smoking.
@6.19 almost the theme for The Simpsons😚
When Mr. Lukather who i consider the greatest ever... he can sound like himself or no one... try to pull that off... tonebone and radial gear is great... use as a preamp w/ ts9 and 65 princeton gives YOU a tone.. you will never be as great as your hero but will help you be your best... so be your best and have a tone all your own...
@YodaVanGrindey95 Think so :P
Wow, those are great guitars! just need the cash to buy one!
For me there's Frank Gambale, Allan Holdsworth, EVH, Jimi and Steve Lukather
chocolate cake, just not at every meal...nice: )
My girlfriend does not agree with that.
@ESPsandEmgs Awwwww XD I have EMG 89 that has that split switch. He sounds like 85 on double and SA on single coil :D It is not that bad :D I have VOX AD 50VT amp so basically I have great sound, on neck position I have SLV single coil, but I didn't put pick up on the mid position, can't decide yet, should I go another SLV or what XD
What a freakin' pedal board
G3 in Wellington?
Well , in a band that has been around for 35 years,Oh and he has played with and for just about every big artist you can think of.Quiet the nitemare huh ?
Debri the night 🎵🎵
whats the song during the intro @0:00?
+JAFO-PTY I think it's the Guitar Solo from that DVD. (:
What venue was this filmed?
Luke’s the best!
I got the Jim Sullivan vibe ... I'm old
Glen Campbell 👂
Shaun the sheep in the background!?!?
Unless you were just clowning (I can be a little slow sometimes), Big Jim Sullivan was a UK session player from the 60s and 70s, and one of the first to use a Wah pedal effect on recordings, and predates the official patent of the Wah pedal. Yeah, more nerdy music historian crap than hipster.
RUclips video: /watch?v=A0A8cPj_fPo
@4:30
Love his EB Guitars, but I can't stand EMG's.
nobody cares
nice glasses...
Luke la main froide,is one the best guitarist studio of the world .
what pedalboard is that??
@NoMatterofficial yes
what is that effect at 4:37
i know it's a chorus effect but not like the others
what band is this nitemare in?
That one stand of guitars is worth well over $30,000. Music man guitars average $4000-$5000 for just the run of the mill stock guitars.
is this a SNL sketch with Downey Jr?
Shaun the sheep at the background :D
great players are always great people, i'm sure there are some exceptions but not in this case
Where's your famous Les Paul?
Steve let us play anithing.
Where is the rest of his gear. Need more input, now.
none of my pedals sound anything like that. I need to learn how to dial in my shit
tonebone trimode
Then you sir, are late, cause you didn't already know Lukather
Robert Downey Jr. should be Luke in a movie
3:44 Steve Lukather... Yeag! That guy sucks! HAHAHA. Made my day.
Jim Sullivan is a lead character at "Monster Inc" furry monster with side kcik mike wazawski, sorry! cant remember the splelling of surname.
@MrUltraworld Dude... if you've ever played a decent guitar with Emg's... you would know why he uses them!!!
don frye
@ClassicRockRiffs1234 Not that hard to get a sound like that. For me, the thing is keeping it simple and building your sound with your ears and not with your eyes.
What IS hard is keeping it sounding like that consistently. I swear, I just played through my JVM for 2 hours with nothing but a delay pedal and it was glorious: I'm on the clouds right now. Somedays, however, it sounds like shit no matter what I do to it or how much I turn it up. Go figure...
has dark hair and similar facial hair but otherwise looks nothing like tony stark
he seriously looks like tony stark with a gained weight
