Man I’ve got a 594 and now you’ve even got me jonesing for one of these! That finish looks so accurate to the old 50’s Gibson’s. We have a 59’ 335 in our family, and that burst looks so accurate to the old Gibson’s. Anyhow, that Tremonti is just gorgeous, and I like that better than any other Tremonti I’ve ever seen. Congrats on the new axe man.
I've had a C24 Piezo for a while but was still using my J Custom 8750z as my main the past few years until I got my 2021 Tremonti in Feb. It's took over as my primary almost immediatly. Hands down my favorite guitar and I've been playing since 1984. I have been a Les Paul fan since I was 14. I still want one but last last year I really started looking at the PRS guitars and I really like how they sound. I stepped into the PRS world with an SE Standard single cut. Then a Zach Myers for that semi-hollow sound and feel. All this time, my local dealer had an Emerald Green Tremonti 10 top with a stoptail bridge. Well I loved the feel of the stoptail on the Standard and Zach Myers, so I played, fell in love with and bought the Tremonti. It IS the most amazing guitar I've ever played and owned. My next PRS will be a Strat Killer 408. Just have to find one now! Great review!
The Tremonti pickups were influenced by Mark's Les Paul that he used before the PRS. The bridge pickup is a triple ceramic magnet design like the Gibson 498T. I had the thick SE Tremonti a few years ago and updated it with all USA Tremonti hardware and electronics. I loved the bipolar nature of the pickups.
Oh yeah, I remember talking about it in an interview Apparently PRS had sent him a bunch of prototype pickups to try out and he was going to go which, he felt, was closer to the gibson but then his sound tech suggested another one which had a higher output
I am lucky enough to own a Korean made Tremonti SE. It has the best of everything: Tremonti humbuckers that can be coil split, PRS tuners, wood binding, rosewood fretboard and a finish to die for. After owning it for just a little while, I happily traded away my '83 Les Paul Standard. This instrument is everything you wish your LP is! And honestly, I don't know whether I like playing it more or just looking at it in the stand. Good luck finding a Korean now but I hear the newer ones are pretty good. This guitar is just amazing.
I recently picked up a Tremonti SE after trying many guitars in store I just kept coming back to the feel of the neck and sound. Nice Demo. I own a 2020 Faded Whale Blue & Smokewrap Burst, same config as yours. Although it does not feel as good as a core, I am completely satisfied. I do plan to add all the core hardware to it, pickups, bridge, and tuners.
Fluff, question if I may (I know I’m very late to the party 😊). I have an ESP Eclipse with a Suhr Aldrich in the bridge which I like very much. Looking for something similar but with a tonal variation for a similar guitar. Would the Tremonti be comparable in output?
