Do some actual research on prs you are seriously missing out on some extremely amazing guitars and models SE, s2,core, artist and private stock are amazing
I have a Wood Library CU 24 with 58/15 pick ups. The ones they usually use in the McCarty 594, I think those would be much more to your liking Trogly, they are much more vintage sounding. I believe it’s Paul Reed Smith‘s take on a 58 PAF that he designed in 2015. That is one beautiful guitar in my opinion. Whoever bought it I hope you enjoy it for many years to come!
In some respects yes but in others no. I'd say the mid-range PRS stuff is definitely on par at least but when it comes to the really good stuff, I still think no one does it better than Gibson but that's just my opinion of course.

Trogly, I love your content, but I think you’d really benefit from playing around the settings of the amp. The tone demo section could be so much better, I think it’s the only weak link in the whole production
No do not do this. The benefits of leaving them the same vs "dailing them in" is too great. It allows you to be able to find locally something he has reviewed hear it then compare it to another guitar you can't find near you.

12:16 PRS doesn't just do 25" scale lengths, especially in their singlecuts. A lot of those have a 24.5" scale, so actually a slight bit shorter than the Gibson standard. Any guitar with a "245" in the model name has the 24.5" scale, along with most of the McCarty guitars (the actual McCarty guitar models, not just the "McCarty Sunburst / Tobacco Sunburst" finishes), the Santanas, and several others. And the Silver Sky models are 25.5", along with the Fiore. The 509 actually has a 25.25" scale length. And of course they do a longer scale length for their baritone or 7-string models (26.5" or 27.7" depending on model).

Would love to see a review of an Eastman guitars. I feel like you’d love them, the quality is absolutely incredible. They are very close to custom shop but priced around the price of an American standard or less
Thanks, Trogly. Just FYI: PRS do normal binding on their SE Standard 24 models. These have all-mahogany bodies without the maple cap. The binding stops on the lower bout before the swoop of the bout cutaway, looking similar to the revealed wood on the maple-capped models.

Never been a fan of the necks on PRS guitars which sucks for me because they’re absolutely gorgeous. This guitar is no exception, absolutely beautiful but I can’t stand the necks on the Tremonti models. In love with that finish though
I have a 2013 Santana SE and love how easy and smooth it plays but the pickups do leave something to be desired, PRS just make some of the best playing guitars would like to see you review more of them.
You can always replace the pickups on a guitar to achieve the sound your looking for, just look at how many Gibson LP’s Trogly has reviewed that don’t have the original pickups in them! No guitar manufacturer can make everyone happy with their pickups and isn’t the reality that we buy a guitar for it’s overall appearance? People rarely try out a guitar that doesn’t catch their eye.
Didn’t read all the comments. But there’s the normal core tops which are usually still quite nice, 10-tops, artist grade tops, and then private stock tops. People think that wood library is a level of top. But it’s not. The dealer just picks out the exact pieces of wood out of the wood library at the factory. And they have the option of picking different woods, such as maybe a swamp ash body. And more color and inlay options too. In theory the dealer could pick a more basic top for a wood library. They obviously normally don’t. But they could. Afaik they have also discontinued the artist package. But I think those tops are available in the wood library.
And the nuts are brass infused graphite. Also the strap buttons are like bass string trees. When Paul was still repairing guitars he got tired of repairing broken necks and headstocks. So he started putting those on to help.
I have the SE single cut from when they started that line with moon inlays and recently purchased a SE Starla and played the SE standard 24, all with different pickups. PRS makes great sounding pickups based on vintage pickups but with more consistent sound, more clarity and even tone so you have to find one that fits you. My favorites are the 58/15 for crunch and Starla double slug pickups for that airy, shimmer with some bass too but my single cut was before they offered the “S” series pickups in the line (58/15S for example) so it sounds kinda like the Tremonti but I love it and it has its uses. Pickups in it meant for mid range crunch and the bass guitar handles the low end but I won’t change it unless PRS offer the low turn pickups based on the vintage LP then I might upgrade to those. Build quality in all for $500 USD is amazing. The red flame veneer on my single cut is beautiful. The gig bags are great too but the standard SE doesn’t come with one.
Got my first US made prs custom 24 10 top this year through some trading and stuff. I liked the SE I had in the past and was really interested in the waring ce at the time though that fell through. The look and quality of these US models is just stellar. I don't know if it's my favorite guitar I own but I would definitely have no issue recommending a higher cost prs to most of the other brands out there.
As for the tuners, most good quality tuners use a brass gear because it's self lubricating when paired with a steel gear. You just can't usually see them like you can on the PRS tuners.
Question: Something I've always wanted to know, what does Trogly do for a living to afford the gear he does? I know he sells a lot but he has some serious cash tied up in gear. I'm not complaining though because whatever he does it brings up great content. Whatever job he has though, I want it
Were all jelly trog.. can you plz learn some more riffs other than that porno pentatonic lick? Would love a better feel on lead tones. 🤘thx for the content bub we luv ya
I've been a Troglodyte for almost 8 years now. When the Wife and I first started watching I tried to convince her that I should sell guitars for a living so I could better satisfy my "GAS" problem. My Wife absolutely forbade me from trying. She told me I'm already good at buying guitars, it's the selling of them I never get around to. Truth be told it takes a special person to buy and sell something like guitars, for myself I just seem to get attached to each them. Also, I'm not much of a Salesman either, what do I know, I'm just a guitar player!
Yep, PRS finishes are the best in the business (at least in "Production" guitar companies)... a LOT of depth in all of them where you can "see through the finish", to figured woods. Pretty sure those "Studs" are polished brass....not gold plated.
I have a PRS se standard 22 in platinum sparkle finish and it’s really good, was only 400 bucks too. I hope someday I’m well enough off to be able to buy my own USA PRS.
One of my dream guitars is a PRS Singlecut 10-Top Charcoal Burst with a roasted maple neck and fretboard. I've just never seen one in that spec for sale. There's a Custom 24 on Reverb right now that is very close, but it's an SE.
I have a Custom 24 with a roasted maple neck. Unfortunately, you'll have to upgrade to a Wood Library to get any of the Core models with a maple neck. And I don't see any on reverb right now that are SCs, but they do have Cu24's, Cu22's, and Paul's Guitars with roasted maple necks.
@@mikeomatic9905 I've seen a few Cu24 Wood Library with roasted maple necks, but none that also have a roasted maple fretboard. There is one with a roasted maple fretboard but it's a Private Stock with an atrocious finish and a stoptail which wouldn't be my first choice.
@@AceSeptre Keep looking! My Cu24 has a roasted maple fretboard as well, one of the reasons I jumped at it when I saw it a few years ago. Quilted Autumn Sky top, 58/15LTs, and semi hollow to boot. Somehow still just considered a Wood Library, so still the WL price. They do exist. I wish I knew why PRS was so adverse to them though. (My only complaint is that there isn’t much contrast between the fretboard and the birds. I kind of wish they were black brush stroke birds.)

Them clean tones sounded great !! I’m listening through a phone speaker .
I love how they did the fake binding on that. It looks great.
Where do you get your straps from?
I have a 2013 Santana SE and love how easy and smooth it plays but the pickups do leave something to be desired, PRS just make some of the best playing guitars would like to see you review more of them.
I'm with you on that one. Most PRS guitars that I've played have pickups that really seem to be lacking. It's one reason I haven't bought one.
Standard SE's now come with gig bags included.
His amps are sick too.. I've played one for a while very nice taste mr.tremonti has
Beautiful beast, what an artist... Love this guy
This is beautiful
Got my first US made prs custom 24 10 top this year through some trading and stuff. I liked the SE I had in the past and was really interested in the waring ce at the time though that fell through. The look and quality of these US models is just stellar. I don't know if it's my favorite guitar I own but I would definitely have no issue recommending a higher cost prs to most of the other brands out there.
I like this guitar. PRS is the recording professionals choice.
man, those guitars are so nice. I have a Korean custom se version, and man, I love it, but I would I love to upgrade to a US version.
Whatever job he has though, I want it
I second this!
This. This is my job
Were all jelly trog.. can you plz learn some more riffs other than that porno pentatonic lick? Would love a better feel on lead tones. 🤘thx for the content bub we luv ya
@@Trog Hardest working man on RUclips. Nobody else brings it every day like the Trog Dog. Conquering with content my man!!!
I was wondering if you was still going to do a review on the Epiphone 1959 Les Paul?
Yep, PRS finishes are the best in the business (at least in "Production" guitar companies)... a LOT of depth in all of them where you can "see through the finish", to figured woods. Pretty sure those "Studs" are polished brass....not gold plated.
16:03 he said volume tone to the same knobs 🥲 that thing is a beauty
I considered this exact guitar, ended up goin home with a Gibson Slash November burst and a Dsl40cr and some cash,no regrets at all
During the playing demo there was a spec or blemish that shows up (and disappears) around the bridge pickup.
Yes! Please do some more PRS reviews!
Am I seeing 2 dings in the top? Above the pickups.
no dings
More than likely lint from the new case.
I also noticed it, then it disappeared in a later shot.
16:01 Its Volume Volume Tone Tone instead of Volume Tone Volume Tone. Oops, no difference. lol
More prs please
@@mikeomatic9905 I'll just have to keep checking Reverb or some of the better shops. I'm sure one is floating around somewhere. I would hate to think that Private Stock is my only option. Although, it would at least give me some options on the inlay and the top. I don't even want to venture to guess how far backed up they are on Private Stock orders though. At least a year or more?
When you do a return for a damaged guitar. Do you typically have to pay return shipping? Thanks trogly
Are you going to unbox a epiphone slash module because I want to see more about it before I think of buying one
I have a Tremonti SE and I don't play heavy music, but appreciate
the big bass and sonorous tones.
Who knows if i will ever hold, let alone own a PRS Custom shop !
This one looks and sounds Great!
That is a great idea for the inlays ✨🦅
It looked like it had a few dings near the bridge and bridge pickup. Maybe just dust? I was waiting for you to mention it.
How can you NOT love this ?
Take a look at the narcissist owner of PRS and say that again with a straight face.
