Some extra unnecessary info to add for this wonderful video Magic pot DMW can give the following: [Information Gathered by AbsoluteSteve way back when] Lvl 1: Curaga Materia, Drain Materia, Graviga Materia, Libra Materia. Lvl 2: Iron Bangle (HP +20%), Titanium Bangle (HP +30%), Carbon Bangle (HP +40%), Platinum Bangle (HP +50%). Lvl 3: Kaiser Knuckles (ATK +30), Shinra Beta Plus (VIT +80), Royal Crown (MAG +30), Crystal Orb (SPR +80). Lvl 4: Elixir x5, Elixir x10, Phoenix Down x1, Phoenix Down x3. Lvl 5: Ribbon (Prevents all status effects except Death), Gold Rolling Pin x1, Gold Rolling Pin x3, Gold Rolling Pin x5. Notes: I'd say everything in level 3 is pretty useful for early to near end game but will be replaced pretty quick late game (Genji armor and what not) Level 5 "Ribbon" is fantastic although it can be replaced by a "Super Ribbon" (which negates all status effects and is aquired from mission 9-6-2 or stolen from the Great Malboro) or even "Genji Shield" (From a randomly appearing Magic Pot enemy during mission 7-6-6. [Skills needed: Gil Toss, Costly Punch, 99999 damage (in other words you have to be able to dish out that much damage), and Octaslash (crazy right?)] ) So don't kill yer selves over getting these but it's just nice to know.
You get 2 Gold Rolling Pins + Hell Blizzaga from one of the 4-2 missions and you get 1 Gold Rolling Pin from 4-4-3. Skip the entire Magic Pot section of the video since, ALL YOU NEED IS 5 Gold Rolling Pins. You get multiple Gold Rolling Pins from missions and you can sell your useless equipment for Gil, you’ll have duplicates of a lot of equipment as you progress through the game. Go beyond chapter 2 & 3, you won’t be locked out of anything. I believe the magic pot grind is not essential

Found this video kind of late (on chapter 6) but you can get hell thundaga/firaga, status ward/strike in M8-3 to hell and back without doing the magic pot farming. Buster stance + high jump and gravity will help you get through it
I came to this comments section looking for a simple answer to my question about this video. Why am I not seeing the 8-2 mission strand in Chapter 2? For the mako stones. Found the answer. You just have to talk to the scientist in the Materia room on the Soldier floor of Shinra building. He will have the red speech icon instead of the normal blue. Simple! Hope this helps some people!
A Tip for Magic Pot Farming: Follow Primals' tutorial until your first battle after satisfying Magic Pot. You will always summon them at the start of the battle. To cheese this a little, do not kill any Tonbery's, instead run into a corner away from them and wait for Magic Pot. If you do not get a Lvl. 5 or the item you want (gold rolling pins) simply restart the battle (forfeit and try again). You will get Magic Pot at the start once again with different RNG. Repeat until you (at minimum) get 3 Gold Rolling Pins on the first summon. (Preferably you'd repeat until you get 5 gold rolling pins but RNG can be a ~&#!@). If you get 3 gold rolling pins i'd recommend waiting until the heightened DMW state has reduced to normal, as it's fairly common to get 2 summons one after the other. After you have the 3-5 gold rolling pins continue following Primals' tutorial.
What would you recommend for those who have already been in a handful of fights after the first engagement post-Magic Pot satisfaction? I’ve been running the mission for a couple hours now and I’ve only collected a single gold rolling pin and a few other accessories, but I’ve been getting other DMW limits and even other summons in this mission. Side note, I have not completed 10-2-3 yet and I’m in chapter 2.
This is the best advice for it I spent over 3 days trying to get just 1 chance of a magic pot and never seen even 1 gold pin,, doing it primals way to a t no other summons etc, I did this method and got the five in an hour of trying.
@@shadowsloth941sbranch9 It will be alot slower unless you hit luck as it will cycle through all the summons atleast I think, even with just magic pot I struck luck and got 5 rolling pins on first summon after that it took a while so with summons will be longer I would think.
I'm right at the start of Chapter 3 myself and i'm playing on hard mode. Trying to get through what missions I can, so this is helpful, it's nice to know what missions I should go through first to get the best rewards.
For those anti-soldier dudes that smash you for 10k I've been going to the lady at the entrance of the shinra building to get a phoenix down on Zack, but after I ran out of spares in my own inventory I have no way of killing the pair on 4-4-6
@@Slozerosh before this guide, the way i beat the anti-shinra immune to graviga in wutai is using barrier, hp up++, darkness, elemental ward, hell blizzaga/thundaga, curaga. My accessory is blaze armlet or the thunder absorb one and whatever stats i need for the other. Lastly lots of potion lol. 2 atks + darkness for 9999 damage and lots of running around. When they use an ability i would have barely enough health to run and use curaga. Potion for quicker heal.
@@TheRyutora Yeah I combined darkness materia until I had 9999hp, stacked vit accessories, and used wall. As long as I'm not getting 1 shotted by unavoidable attacks its easy.

@@ath2737fj They are found during missions. Honestly You only need 5 gold pins to start this all out. I got only 5 and with 250,000 you can buy the starting hell materia he mentions with that you then proceed through missions and you will find more goldpins as you collect everything in missions. As long as you arent over spending and winning fights you should be good. Then in chapter 4 you can start his 15mill guide.
@@christopher6606 Nah I just got the Blizard one and was pretty much set with that and then I got the stuff he mentioned. You will start to find more hell ones like the fire one in treasure chest. I bought the accessories he mentioned the one that makes all drop rare, the one that absorbs all magic and the glove that guarantees steals

First off love the information you pack into the videos thank you for that. With that said, you have to do a video on the "Cage of Binding". As far as I know it is not a mission. You find this hidden area at the end of the game when collecting from the Lake of Oblivion. Go to the materia that is misting from the ceiling. Fight all the creatures and a light bridge will open. Cross the bridge into Cage of Binding. The treasure box in the cell right before the boss fight has the best materia in the game. The FLARE materia puts all the rest to shame.
I struggled to get past 35-40% in missions but with help from this video I've managed to get most of the materia and now I'm smashing 9* missions with ease when I was struggling to get past 7* missions all I'm after now is the dual cast and do a farm to get leveled up quicker even though I've put about 50+ hours into the game already but godda say really enjoying playing now since I've found this video and was extremely helpful 👍
Loving this guide, took me a little bit to get used to everything, but now I'm starting to prep for heading into the Cave of Wonders so I can begin grinding my stats Electrocute really helped tear through those annoying Wutai missions, definitely my favorite materia so far!
So as I’m looking the INVERSE can also be used to get Blast Wave which is MASTERED Assault Twister and Graviga. I think that would make things a lot easier instead of trying to spend to time leveling Graviga when there’s a decent chance someone mastered Assault Twister already.
Hey incase anyone is wondering if you don't want to fight any enemies and just look for the chests and the boss you can just stick to the walls of the room and face the camera away from the center and they won't activate
The best way to get the Genji Shield if octoslash does not show up is when the pot says it is bored you can forfeit the battle and it will give you the chance to restart the encounter as much as you want.
Just got Genji Shield about 15 mins after seeing this and realizing I could do this... Now have 3 of the Genji's lmao and still idk how I'm gonna beat Minerva
@@jocappie it’s literally useless if you don’t stay in that mission. That one part is so vital for the rest of the trick to work. He really should have mentioned it before going on about what the magic pot gives you.
I am at this point now in the game, and have never been able to devote the time to follow one of your overpowered guides myself (though I've beaten almost every game you've done them for), but this one I am definitely doing!
Get all of the materia from M8-2 missions/materia room at Shinra HQ first in Chapter 2. Then wait until Chapter 3, just when you reach the streets, but before you go to Loveless Avenue, you will have Cissnei’s heightened emotion, that is when you go to get the magic pot. You can endlessly spam Cissnei’s limit break: Lucky Stars to get to heavenly emotion status really quick and get tons of magic pot rolls without having to wait a million years. You will also level up your materia like crazy. You can also keep encountering the magic pot and following the same steps to get him and he will give out items as well.

I'm interested in how you are able to complete missions 4-1-6 and all of the 6-3s. I am currently at level 16. I can't beat the boss on 4-1-6 and almost all the enemies in the the 6-3 one shot me.
yea, I was wondering about that too, it seems like you need specific materia or equipment setup or do a lot of cheap tactics to get through. My understanding is that you get materia as you go, esp after unlocking the shops, definitely start afk lv up the useful ones such as hell * and equipments
For the 6-3s they can indeed mostly one shot you. You can switch to fire armlet and stop the fire attacks and then you just gotta dodge the physicals. I slammed graviga which you pick up in an earlier mission and then you can basically just finish them when they are low.
Yeah, I'm playing on hard and get one shot, just hope that you get hp/mp/ap ups and dodge attacks while weaving gravity and physical attacks. I did get magic pot once and got the knuckles so that boosted physical dmg a lot.
You need to do a lot of kiting going in berserk won't work keep your distance til you get favorable slots like no mp cost or even limit breaks and whittle them down
Thanks for the guide. I will say for those spending hours on the magic pot farming that you only really need the golden rolling pins. Therefore, if you have bad luck with rng, I would do as others have suggested and just restart the mission and battle the magic pot at the beginning pot over and over until you get 5 rolling pins because you’re guaranteed the summon right after you get it. This is because it’s quicker and less irritating than spending more than a few hours trying to get the Shina Beta+. While kraiser knuckles and royal crowns might good at the beginning, eventually they won’t matter. Just my advice if the Gods of rng have something against you. Because really you only need the pins. Well and maybe some phoenix downs for some boss fights early on.
This is going to sound terrible that I did this, but let the game sit for 40 hours or so. Never got the Shinra Beta+. Sure hope I don't need it. Gave up on it. Did get 43 golden rolling pins and every other item many times. I had to give up. Afraid the power would go out and turn my ps5 off lol.
@@ElitePWNSFace Let it run for like twelve hours to get one myself then randomly got a second one later and I barely used them. When I was fighting in missions at lower levels than I needed to be at, I preferred memorizing the bosses attack patterns. High jump, death jump or jump is more useful than Shinra Beta+ anyway. But I doubt you’ll notice not having the Shinra beta+ if you follow primal’s guide and max your stats through materia fusion and completing most of the missions early.
I just simply need a guide on using what type of accessories and materia in order to beat the 6 star+ missions because I die instantly. If I know, I would try and finish all these stronger missions. The Wutai missions are so hard. :
There are actually some areas where the Tonberry can get stuck along the sides of the areas. Usually around the rocks with the crystals on them. This makes "farming" this method pretty much afk besides having to press the prompt for the magic pot limit break. You can just do something else in the meanwhile.
This Vid was awesome! Helped me a ton and ya earned a sub! I do wanna Note tho, I Started your Guide when I was In chapter 6 so I already had summons prior to Pot. However with the Accessories that guarantees rare drops You can Farm Countless Power fists from The Toneberrys at that master Toneberry mission And With about an Hour or so of Farming you'll have Plenty to sell To get 1mill gill so for anyone who Is like "well I'm screwed on the Whole Pot summon trick for those pins" while it's a tad slower you can farm an immense amount of Gil from those easy ass Toneberrys and that accessory :)
The gold rolling pin grind works on series X, plus with quick resume, you don't have to sit around for hours. You can close the game and even turn off the console, then just resume when you start the game.
I have absolutely zero idea how it's even possible to complete the 4-5-X missions at that low of a level with only 2 accessories and 4 materia. 7 Star Missions with a Limit attack gauge that just cannot be beat down fast enough. Even with phoenix downs, thats at minimum 5 per fight, which unless you get incredibly lucky with Phoenix Down magic pots, I don't see how it's even possible.
I recommend not waisting your time with farming magic pot. Just try to get shinra beta+ and moving on to a different money farm as magic pot is super unreliable most of the time where people can go on for 3 hours before landing a second magic pot (the 1st one is guaranteed). Something thats more consistent and reliable is recommend and probably less mind numbing.
Well im at around 21 hours, also around 55% mission completion dealing max damage with costly punch thanks to the new Buster Sword stance with less than 30 minutes of grinding in Chapter 8 while doing everything. They kinda made all this grinding a waste of time thanks to that new mechanic, which also has the added bonus of making you take less damage during your attacks and making it so you can't be interupted as well.
I just watched your video, and I unknowingly did most of what you are sharing. I didn't do blast wave, and status ward/strike. I am doing it now, My Zack can cut through anything now!
For those who want to make Magic pot appear on DMW more often. Wait until you get Cissnei in Ch3. You will get highten emotion for Cissnei the moment you meet her in sector 8. Just go back to save point and start the mission 10-2-3 and avoid tonberry until you get magic pot dmw. After that start farming on the spot mention by primal. Cissnei Appear more ofter on this mode due to highten emotion icon and you'll get more chance of heavenly status. Why wait for Cissnei in Ch3? Magic pot is aligned to Cissnei in DMW and it always replace Cissnei during verge. If you did not get the goldpin in the first 3 Magic pot appearance in DMW, don't end the battle, simply forfeit and retry it again.
@@redgraves4030 then try for yourself. Magic pot only appears on Cissnei's photo. It also replace Cissnei even before you get her dmw. All the charater limit work this way. Of course it's still rng.

I would still advise grinding pins against the soldiers for two reasons: * allows easy afk grinding. Tonberries can get to you eventually. * you can quit and save, continue whenever you want. I got a lot more pots in mission 1-1-1 compared to tonberry mission.
I tried doing this and waited forever after having dmw and I didn’t see magic pot summon show up at all. Like I know it’s afk but you still gotta check in sometimes in case magic pot does show up. Any advice? How long did you afk for and how many times did magic pot show up?
@@kenshinyusuke like it says, is RNG but you have to be present to activate it. You could be watching a movie or doing something else while you do this. In 6 hours I got Kaiser Knuckles, Elixirs, Materia (nothing special) and the last one got me 5 rolling pins, then I stop.

I think Tri-Thundaga is on 4-4-4, rather than 4-4-3 mentioned @ 12:45. Just incase anyone is struggling to find it. It's the last of three chests on "Wutai in the Slums" behind the boss. You have to skirt round the side of boss to get to the chest.
I'm glad I found this at the beginning of ch3 in reactor 5. I figured it was pretty much "do missions asap". Currently just abusing Jump spam, though I knew that would eventually stop carrying me past 6 or 7star missions too reliably.
Gravity is ineffective against a lot of bosses also with both Status Strike and Hell Thundaga mastered, they do not inflict death. At all. So I do not know if this has been patched or what but this guide severely needs revision.
I found on farming the magic pot that after I got my first pot summon using the method Voxel Smith mentions in the comments to get my first level 5 pot, I stayed behind patiently waiting for more pot summons and killed a ton of tonberrys as who doesnt like smahing them things up. But I was able to get a ton of gil of the tomberrys them self 500 each, 10 rolling pins a ribbon and as a bonus encountered more magic pots when I used the moves it asked me dropped items like Docs code and Feather cap as extras. Not a bad farming area early game at all.
This is easy. Just use materia fusion and upgrade your materia to get those one hit kills on enemies with dark firaga, dark thunderga, and dark blizraga. I also like using blizzara blade too. Plus if you have a fira blade or blizzara blade materia. You can Fuse those at max level with any dark top tier materia to get hell firaga, hell blizzaga, and hell tundraga. Which are super op materias and not too hard to get at the start of the game.
Even when Magic Pot is the only DMW from Chocobo Mode that I have, it sometimes fails because the middle wheel gives me blacked out characters like Cait Sith. Did anyone notice that?
I would say Ribbon is a good starter but the list is: Limit Break Level 1: Libra, Graviga, Drain, Curaga Limit Break Level 2: Iron Bangle, Titanium Bangle, Carbon Bangle, Platinum Bangle. Limit Break Level 3: Kaiser Knuckles, Shinra Beta+, Royal Crown, Crystal Orb Limit Break Level 4: Elixir (x5,) Elixir (x10) Phoenix Down (x1) Phoenix Down (x3). Limit Break Level 5: Ribbon, Gold Rolling Pin (x1), Gold Rolling Pin (x3), Gold Rolling Pin (x5) What you want to aim for is g old rolling pin as many as you can get in 3 days I got 57 pins. Ribbon, elixir, phoenix downs, kaiser knuckeles +30 attack shinra beta + vitality +80, Crystal orb has magic defence SPR+80, royal crown ios mag+ 30, graviga, curaga are nice to have, platinum bangle is the best out of the bangles offering +50% hp Essentially farming this before completing the stage for 3 days I eneded up getting everything lol.
You know what, since this is the past FF7 game, I kinda wish they made a further past how Sephiroth became who he is today, so you can level him up cast some bizare magics and attacks, and towards end of game you get a katana called Masamune the legendary long sword that only Seph can wield with one hand lol.. Imagine how cool the gameplay can be when new game + can offer you modes that let you increase your power with the one wing angel and can pick costumes and stuff to wear during gameplay. DAYUM
So, I did the long 10-2-3 grind until I couldn't stand it anymore, and I think most people would find it less obnoxious to grind up Magic Pot loot in 1-1-1 after finishing 10-2-3 than trying to extend it. Yes, it's less common, but you have to be paying attention throughout the ENTIRE grind session. Hanging around in 1-1-1 is: * Essentially risk-free. * Can be quit and restarted whenever. * Is nearly input-free. I played on PC, and I was able to keep Crisis Core running in the background while I did other things and just tabbed over when I saw the yellow and purple for Item Mugger.
I'm failing to see how blast waves is incredibly useful for missions. Practically everything, including the bosses, are immune to it. Maybe it was broken years ago but I don't see it being all that useful in this version.
Biggest issue I had so far was all the Vajradhara enemies in the Wutai missions (4-x-x), there are 2 kinds and only one seems susceptible to Gravity, but the Vajradhara Indra isn't and is MUCH more common in the missions, especially as bosses. Using Gravity on him is just negated. Even with 2 Shinra Beta+ equuiped, his Boomerang attack can OHKO me
use Barrier or Wall materia for them and increase your HP/Vit as much as possible to just brute force survive them and then heal, as for killing them you should have a magic punch available, by using that you should deal max damage to kill them
my method is to get HP+++ (whatever it takes so you can have more HP than the damage number) and other materias that adds HP%, and make sure to cast barrier or wall (fused from quake + other materia), then spam hell blizzard and dodge until it is dead.
First time playing I always wanted this game but never had psp and as soon as I got an idea of how things worked I was like this is breakable. But I'll play it normally to experience it properly
I think the only issue here is clearing the 6 star missions before even being able to get the wutai shop. Even at level 25 and with a barrier, u can easily get one shotted.... so u may as well set aside some time to level barrier, gravity, cure, and poison to max before attempting any of the tough missions, and yes, it's a skill issue, I know lmao. Another thing is this version of the game kinda made a bunch of enemies immune to gravity, which is silly imo
avoid random encounters, 99% of the time they're harder than the bosses, spam gravity and poison until you get tri thundaga then spam gravity and tri thunderga from a safe distance, i didnt really start running into many issues until i got to around the 8 star+ missions so i cant really offer much advice for you im afraid

I played the hell outta psp version but I feel like the enemies stagger less in this game if that makes any sense? Regardless it's a skill issue on my part I feel. Oh and I think just getting 3-5 gold pins is enough as a start since there are mission already offering hell thundaga, and the blue materias. As your other video already mitigated the need to stay longer and farm the magic pot since we can just steal the rest later (much sooner than later actually).

Has magic pot been fixed for stealing gold rolling pins? Did exactly as the tutorial said and rolled a bahamut summon. Got magic pot and been wandering the mission for an hour with no magic pot summon.
To clarify, in terms of getting Magic Pot on the DMW, what do you mean by "incredibly frequently"? I've been doing this for a while now on a fresh save doing everything exactly as described on Chapter 2 yet Magic Pot barely ever shows its face (I even had to start over because I picked up Ifrit by mistake in case that influenced anything)
I dont know if I did exactly the same but I got my first pot after getting the magic pot. Soon as I got that I killed the tomberry and went to another random enc in the same mission I was lucky to get 5 gold pins elxir and a ribbon. Try changing battle after you hit a magic pot, though I may literally just lucked it. I also picked up ifrit and other summons so it messed me up but a new start i was lucky, I say be patient blast some music and it should show. All the luck too you.
I also use this time to level my magic up as im waiting for pot to show. Also as Voxel Smith commented above in the comments I would follow that to narrow down the time.

By the way, I've discovered something with regards to farming items from Magic Pot. There was a spot in the map where you can fight tonberrys and it can get stuck walking. Meaning you can make tonberry stuck and just stand and wait till you get Magic Pot DMW.

You need to bait Tonberry to follow you on the edge and when he's almost near you, run to the other side. That makes Tonberry get stuck on one of the rocks there. Is there any way I can send you screenshots? So that it's a little more clear.

just thought I’d point out that if you’re going for the Genji Shield, you NEED to make sure you’ve already unlocked the magic pot DMW, because otherwise that’s the only reward you will get, I did this magic pot first and ended up having to do it all over again, and since I’m in chapter 4 with no Octaslash materia, it took me like 5 hours total
@@deusvlad2.083 you get the Genji shield for finishing a random Magic Pot encounter in mission 7-6-6. He will ask you to do Gill Toss>Costly Punch>99,999 damage> and the Octoslash (sephiroth) Limit Break in that order. As long as you’ve already gotten the magic pot DMW from one of the magic pots, he will reward you with the Genji Shield. bare in mind it might take a while to get Octoslash to show up if you are doing this early in the game, since you don’t get Octoslash Materia until chapter 9. It’s literal RNG, and the more DMW’s you have unlocked the less chance you have for it to show up. So if you’re trying to get over powered early, like me, it might take quite a few hours. But if you’re just trying to get Genji Shield at any time and would rather not grind that hard, wait until chapter 9 when you can buy the Octoslash Materia from the Gongaga shop.
@@kingleepz cool thanks, how do you grind octoslash materia before chapter 9 though? what exactly did you do so many hours to get genji shield on chapter 3? right now I got magic pot, and before completing the tonberry map, I'm still there got a normal tonberry stuck on some rocks and afk waiting for magic pot to come up so I can keep getting items but man its taking more than 3 hours he shows up once every 20-30 minutes or so. That is so annoying lol
@@deusvlad2.083 you don’t. you just keep retrying magic pot until you manage to get octoslash to roll on DMW, you can just click start-give up and retry if he says “disappointed” so you don’t have to get him to spawn again. and you can do like 90% of the missions once you get to chapter 3, you just have to make sure to talk to all the Orange NPC’s around midgar and in Shinra HQ to unlock them, after that you just do all the missions you want and you can pretty much unlock every ability and piece of gear in the game except for a select few things that require you to progress further. my recommendation is to unlock the DMW by doing the magic pot in 2-2-6, who asks for simple -ga spells, and then going to the one in 7-6-6. But yea, if you want it early, you’re going to have to grind, it took me like 3 hours to get octoslash the first time but since I didn’t have the DMW unlocked, had to do it again for another 2 hours to finally get the shield, that being said, this is just how I play final fantasy games, I grind and powerlevel so it’s fun for me, don’t think it’s for everyone.
@@kingleepz oh I didn't know you can retry battles from the start if you give up, I thought that would reset the whole mission? Don't need to explain yourself about how you play your games, don't worry m8 I am too like that, You should see what I did in final fantasy tactics duplicating all the best gear weapons and armors and equipping that character can't remember his name with 2 excaliburs for insane damage and speed lol. I power leveled so early on that I got everything I could possibly get with just a few levels unlocked lol rest was fun to just go through. Don't care about challenge in games anymore, I'm too old for that, just like power leveling and going through storylines and collecting items cause I'm a no good hoarder cheating cheater lol. Quesrtion does magic pot stay in the battle until I perform moves? or is there a time limit and he vanishes?
I want to correct something you said about Tri-Thundaga, it's actually in the next mission, 4-4-4 "Wutai in the Slums", specifically in the chest that's a little beyond the boss of the map. On a personal level I'm actually struggling to clear this mission as the boss seems to ALWAYS, 100% of the time cast it's "ultimate" attack and there's just no way for me to even get it under 75% damage and it just does 12k and insta kills me.
@@SuntanAlbino you can also use the free pheonix down potion from soldier eq ( the woman at the entrance ) then u will be rivied after the break, and can kill with graviga, because he only imit breaks once.
I'm on chapter 6 with all but 2 of my DMV open I was able to get all the material bit the electrocute and costly punch mostly since I can't beat m4-4-4 or find hammer punch
So I tried taking the advice of the materia missions first but I got stuck on the last mission of that part. How do you deal with the death claws that early though?

I'm a bit confused on the reel thing though so I get the pictures are more for the special attacks but can you explain the number thing though I get that it determines the buffs u yet and either level your character or materia up but the part I don't get a sides from the 3 7s being leveling your character I believe. Is how does the leveling the materia work and determined?
Hell Firaga, Hell Blizzara, and Hell Thundraga are the most OP spells in the game. I found a way to essentially ensure that you can spam the spells in battle.
Amazing guide, currently at chap 4 and im only lvl 18. Currently trying out the magic pot golden pin farmbut im here just running around a tonberry and I haven’t gotten a summon dmw. is there something i can do to get a better chance for it?
There’s a corner on the bottom right(not the end point) that he popped up for me. I got the dmw but getting it to happen 70% of the time doesn’t seem to be working
i never said it happens 70% of the time, i said if you get tonberry it LOWERS the chance of it happening by 75% because of DMW priority. as for the farm, once you get magic pot DMW enter a fight with a normal tonberry kill them off except 1 and then just run around staying alive. it can take for magic pot to trigger as its still an RNG slot wheel at the end of the day. this is simply the best time and best odds of getting it.
I swear most of my deaths came from the abilities that are unavoidable. I don’t know what to do and kept getting stuck in later missions. I even used up all my phoenix downs and had no more to use on later levels. Higher materias won’t help that I can’t even break down the ability meter down to 75%.
Great guide, but it seems like I'm the only one that was struggling with those five stars+ missions😂. I'm currently at level 21, 6 hours in, and at the start of chapter 4. May I ask how do you guys beat those missions so early in the game? Do I need to level up or should I just keep practicing until I get through them?
Once I got barrier I was able to tank so much damage. If you have barrier, put it on and get it leveled up. Eventually replace it with wall, wall gives physical AND magic defense
pretty much you spamming gravity and poison and running around till they die. when you can buy the hell blizzaga you use that as well. then when you get the tri thundaga thats your next go to. then you pretty much get electrute and are just dodging and one shoting things. currently Im stuck cause now Im at the 8 star missions and need that attack limit break cause 9999 cant do shit to 100,000 health without taking its time and Im out of phoneix downs
By "incredibly frequently" how often are we talking? Ive been running around this Tonberry for 20 minutes and haven't gotten a magic pot summon. In 45 minutes I've only seen it once and that was right after I added the pot to the DMW.
I found this video after already fighting to m9-4 in the mako reactor 5 - I feel like I’m gonna one shot story bosses for the rest of the game after I finish this side mission grind. I just can’t resist playing side missions until they are all done or I’m like hard gated before I continue with story
that’s exactly what I do on the m9 missions I’m trying to complete right is go to 1-1 in between every new mission to level up if possible and at least get double hp break
You can’t do any of this because you can’t unlock the shop because in mission 4-2-3 the objective party has and unavoidable attack that’s an insta-kill. At level 20, with barrier on it does 8K damage
I played the original on the psp back in the day and bought ff7 from my cousin back in 97 for 10 bucks been hooked ever since and I'm almost 40 now even my kids play it with me I'm just glad they left it the same as the psp and added more things to it suck the voice actors changed for Zack but it is what it is still a great game
I did what you did exactly the same for unlocking magic pot and haven't left 10-2-3 yet, but for some reason I am getting all summons on my dmw, not just magic pot...(I now realize summons probably always showed up too, but I did indeed also get chocobo)

Lvl 1: Curaga Materia, Drain Materia, Graviga Materia, Libra Materia.
Lvl 2: Iron Bangle (HP +20%), Titanium Bangle (HP +30%), Carbon Bangle (HP +40%), Platinum Bangle (HP +50%).
Lvl 3: Kaiser Knuckles (ATK +30), Shinra Beta Plus (VIT +80), Royal Crown (MAG +30), Crystal Orb (SPR +80).
Lvl 4: Elixir x5, Elixir x10, Phoenix Down x1, Phoenix Down x3.
Lvl 5: Ribbon (Prevents all status effects except Death), Gold Rolling Pin x1, Gold Rolling Pin x3, Gold Rolling Pin x5.
Notes: I'd say everything in level 3 is pretty useful for early to near end game but will be replaced pretty quick late game (Genji armor and what not) Level 5 "Ribbon" is fantastic although it can be replaced by a "Super Ribbon" (which negates all status effects and is aquired from mission 9-6-2 or stolen from the Great Malboro) or even "Genji Shield" (From a randomly appearing Magic Pot enemy during mission 7-6-6. [Skills needed: Gil Toss, Costly Punch, 99999 damage (in other words you have to be able to dish out that much damage), and Octaslash (crazy right?)] ) So don't kill yer selves over getting these but it's just nice to know.
You get 2 Gold Rolling Pins + Hell Blizzaga from one of the 4-2 missions and you get 1 Gold Rolling Pin from 4-4-3. Skip the entire Magic Pot section of the video since, ALL YOU NEED IS 5 Gold Rolling Pins. You get multiple Gold Rolling Pins from missions and you can sell your useless equipment for Gil, you’ll have duplicates of a lot of equipment as you progress through the game. Go beyond chapter 2 & 3, you won’t be locked out of anything. I believe the magic pot grind is not essential

Found this video kind of late (on chapter 6) but you can get hell thundaga/firaga, status ward/strike in M8-3 to hell and back without doing the magic pot farming. Buster stance + high jump and gravity will help you get through it
I came to this comments section looking for a simple answer to my question about this video. Why am I not seeing the 8-2 mission strand in Chapter 2? For the mako stones. Found the answer. You just have to talk to the scientist in the Materia room on the Soldier floor of Shinra building. He will have the red speech icon instead of the normal blue. Simple! Hope this helps some people!

A Tip for Magic Pot Farming: Follow Primals' tutorial until your first battle after satisfying Magic Pot. You will always summon them at the start of the battle. To cheese this a little, do not kill any Tonbery's, instead run into a corner away from them and wait for Magic Pot. If you do not get a Lvl. 5 or the item you want (gold rolling pins) simply restart the battle (forfeit and try again). You will get Magic Pot at the start once again with different RNG. Repeat until you (at minimum) get 3 Gold Rolling Pins on the first summon. (Preferably you'd repeat until you get 5 gold rolling pins but RNG can be a ~&#!@). If you get 3 gold rolling pins i'd recommend waiting until the heightened DMW state has reduced to normal, as it's fairly common to get 2 summons one after the other. After you have the 3-5 gold rolling pins continue following Primals' tutorial.
What would you recommend for those who have already been in a handful of fights after the first engagement post-Magic Pot satisfaction?
I’ve been running the mission for a couple hours now and I’ve only collected a single gold rolling pin and a few other accessories, but I’ve been getting other DMW limits and even other summons in this mission.
Side note, I have not completed 10-2-3 yet and I’m in chapter 2.
This is the best advice for it I spent over 3 days trying to get just 1 chance of a magic pot and never seen even 1 gold pin,, doing it primals way to a t no other summons etc, I did this method and got the five in an hour of trying.

@@shadowsloth941sbranch9 It will be alot slower unless you hit luck as it will cycle through all the summons atleast I think, even with just magic pot I struck luck and got 5 rolling pins on first summon after that it took a while so with summons will be longer I would think.

I'm right at the start of Chapter 3 myself and i'm playing on hard mode. Trying to get through what missions I can, so this is helpful, it's nice to know what missions I should go through first to get the best rewards.
gravity and poison magic are EXTREMELY helpful, simply land poison and spam gravity while dodging

For those anti-soldier dudes that smash you for 10k I've been going to the lady at the entrance of the shinra building to get a phoenix down on Zack, but after I ran out of spares in my own inventory I have no way of killing the pair on 4-4-6
@@Slozerosh before this guide, the way i beat the anti-shinra immune to graviga in wutai is using barrier, hp up++, darkness, elemental ward, hell blizzaga/thundaga, curaga. My accessory is blaze armlet or the thunder absorb one and whatever stats i need for the other. Lastly lots of potion lol. 2 atks + darkness for 9999 damage and lots of running around. When they use an ability i would have barely enough health to run and use curaga. Potion for quicker heal.
@@TheRyutora Yeah I combined darkness materia until I had 9999hp, stacked vit accessories, and used wall. As long as I'm not getting 1 shotted by unavoidable attacks its easy.

I got only 5 and with 250,000 you can buy the starting hell materia he mentions with that you then proceed through missions and you will find more goldpins as you collect everything in missions. As long as you arent over spending and winning fights you should be good. Then in chapter 4 you can start his 15mill guide.

@@christopher6606 Nah I just got the Blizard one and was pretty much set with that and then I got the stuff he mentioned. You will start to find more hell ones like the fire one in treasure chest. I bought the accessories he mentioned the one that makes all drop rare, the one that absorbs all magic and the glove that guarantees steals

How much Gil was it?
First off love the information you pack into the videos thank you for that. With that said, you have to do a video on the "Cage of Binding". As far as I know it is not a mission. You find this hidden area at the end of the game when collecting from the Lake of Oblivion. Go to the materia that is misting from the ceiling. Fight all the creatures and a light bridge will open. Cross the bridge into Cage of Binding. The treasure box in the cell right before the boss fight has the best materia in the game. The FLARE materia puts all the rest to shame.
I struggled to get past 35-40% in missions but with help from this video I've managed to get most of the materia and now I'm smashing 9* missions with ease when I was struggling to get past 7* missions all I'm after now is the dual cast and do a farm to get leveled up quicker even though I've put about 50+ hours into the game already but godda say really enjoying playing now since I've found this video and was extremely helpful 👍

Loving this guide, took me a little bit to get used to everything, but now I'm starting to prep for heading into the Cave of Wonders so I can begin grinding my stats
Electrocute really helped tear through those annoying Wutai missions, definitely my favorite materia so far!
So as I’m looking the INVERSE can also be used to get Blast Wave which is MASTERED Assault Twister and Graviga. I think that would make things a lot easier instead of trying to spend to time leveling Graviga when there’s a decent chance someone mastered Assault Twister already.
Hey incase anyone is wondering if you don't want to fight any enemies and just look for the chests and the boss you can just stick to the walls of the room and face the camera away from the center and they won't activate
I noticed this works a lot too! Sometimes they still trigger but for the most part if you hug the walls you'll avoid random encounters!

The best way to get the Genji Shield if octoslash does not show up is when the pot says it is bored you can forfeit the battle and it will give you the chance to restart the encounter as much as you want.

and you can even cheese it more by triggering Cissnei in M1-1-1 before, to enter the pot fight in Heavenly
Brutal can also be acquired from mission 7-4-6 which was much earlier than the 9-5-1 option listed in the vid

I am at this point now in the game, and have never been able to devote the time to follow one of your overpowered guides myself (though I've beaten almost every game you've done them for), but this one I am definitely doing!
You can do it!
Get all of the materia from M8-2 missions/materia room at Shinra HQ first in Chapter 2. Then wait until Chapter 3, just when you reach the streets, but before you go to Loveless Avenue, you will have Cissnei’s heightened emotion, that is when you go to get the magic pot. You can endlessly spam Cissnei’s limit break: Lucky Stars to get to heavenly emotion status really quick and get tons of magic pot rolls without having to wait a million years. You will also level up your materia like crazy. You can also keep encountering the magic pot and following the same steps to get him and he will give out items as well.
the problem here is cissnei's high emotions only lasts for 1 use, and your DMW will lower in rank back to normally pretty damn fast

I'm interested in how you are able to complete missions 4-1-6 and all of the 6-3s. I am currently at level 16. I can't beat the boss on 4-1-6 and almost all the enemies in the the 6-3 one shot me.
yea, I was wondering about that too, it seems like you need specific materia or equipment setup or do a lot of cheap tactics to get through. My understanding is that you get materia as you go, esp after unlocking the shops, definitely start afk lv up the useful ones such as hell * and equipments
For the 6-3s they can indeed mostly one shot you. You can switch to fire armlet and stop the fire attacks and then you just gotta dodge the physicals. I slammed graviga which you pick up in an earlier mission and then you can basically just finish them when they are low.
Yeah, I'm playing on hard and get one shot, just hope that you get hp/mp/ap ups and dodge attacks while weaving gravity and physical attacks. I did get magic pot once and got the knuckles so that boosted physical dmg a lot.
You need to do a lot of kiting going in berserk won't work keep your distance til you get favorable slots like no mp cost or even limit breaks and whittle them down
I was able to fuse mastered mug and rush assault for costly punch. I played ff7 crisis core original and i loved that game.

Thanks for the guide. I will say for those spending hours on the magic pot farming that you only really need the golden rolling pins. Therefore, if you have bad luck with rng, I would do as others have suggested and just restart the mission and battle the magic pot at the beginning pot over and over until you get 5 rolling pins because you’re guaranteed the summon right after you get it. This is because it’s quicker and less irritating than spending more than a few hours trying to get the Shina Beta+. While kraiser knuckles and royal crowns might good at the beginning, eventually they won’t matter. Just my advice if the Gods of rng have something against you. Because really you only need the pins. Well and maybe some phoenix downs for some boss fights early on.
This is going to sound terrible that I did this, but let the game sit for 40 hours or so. Never got the Shinra Beta+. Sure hope I don't need it. Gave up on it. Did get 43 golden rolling pins and every other item many times. I had to give up. Afraid the power would go out and turn my ps5 off lol.
@@ElitePWNSFace Let it run for like twelve hours to get one myself then randomly got a second one later and I barely used them. When I was fighting in missions at lower levels than I needed to be at, I preferred memorizing the bosses attack patterns. High jump, death jump or jump is more useful than Shinra Beta+ anyway. But I doubt you’ll notice not having the Shinra beta+ if you follow primal’s guide and max your stats through materia fusion and completing most of the missions early.
So thanks to this guide, I somehow managed to steal both Goblin Punch and Hammer Punch from bosses in 4-4-6. Well got damn!!

There are actually some areas where the Tonberry can get stuck along the sides of the areas.
Usually around the rocks with the crystals on them. This makes "farming" this method pretty much
afk besides having to press the prompt for the magic pot limit break. You can just do something else
in the meanwhile.
This is a pretty good trick, beats running around a tonberry for hours

I found for beating minerva it was best to move to the start of chapter 4 for the extra 2 accessory slots you can unlock.

However with the Accessories that guarantees rare drops You can Farm Countless Power fists from The Toneberrys at that master Toneberry mission And With about an Hour or so of Farming you'll have Plenty to sell To get 1mill gill so for anyone who Is like "well I'm screwed on the Whole Pot summon trick for those pins" while it's a tad slower you can farm an immense amount of Gil from those easy ass Toneberrys and that accessory :)
Which accessory is that?
The gold rolling pin grind works on series X, plus with quick resume, you don't have to sit around for hours. You can close the game and even turn off the console, then just resume when you start the game.
I have absolutely zero idea how it's even possible to complete the 4-5-X missions at that low of a level with only 2 accessories and 4 materia. 7 Star Missions with a Limit attack gauge that just cannot be beat down fast enough. Even with phoenix downs, thats at minimum 5 per fight, which unless you get incredibly lucky with Phoenix Down magic pots, I don't see how it's even possible.

Not sure if this has been posted but the tri-thundaga is in mission 4-4-4 not 4-4-3
I recommend not waisting your time with farming magic pot. Just try to get shinra beta+ and moving on to a different money farm as magic pot is super unreliable most of the time where people can go on for 3 hours before landing a second magic pot (the 1st one is guaranteed). Something thats more consistent and reliable is recommend and probably less mind numbing.
Well im at around 21 hours, also around 55% mission completion dealing max damage with costly punch thanks to the new Buster Sword stance with less than 30 minutes of grinding in Chapter 8 while doing everything. They kinda made all this grinding a waste of time thanks to that new mechanic, which also has the added bonus of making you take less damage during your attacks and making it so you can't be interupted as well.

For those who want to make Magic pot appear on DMW more often. Wait until you get Cissnei in Ch3. You will get highten emotion for Cissnei the moment you meet her in sector 8. Just go back to save point and start the mission 10-2-3 and avoid tonberry until you get magic pot dmw. After that start farming on the spot mention by primal.
Cissnei Appear more ofter on this mode due to highten emotion icon and you'll get more chance of heavenly status.
Why wait for Cissnei in Ch3? Magic pot is aligned to Cissnei in DMW and it always replace Cissnei during verge.
If you did not get the goldpin in the first 3 Magic pot appearance in DMW, don't end the battle, simply forfeit and retry it again.

I would still advise grinding pins against the soldiers for two reasons:
* allows easy afk grinding. Tonberries can get to you eventually.
* you can quit and save, continue whenever you want.
I got a lot more pots in mission 1-1-1 compared to tonberry mission.

I tried doing this and waited forever after having dmw and I didn’t see magic pot summon show up at all. Like I know it’s afk but you still gotta check in sometimes in case magic pot does show up. Any advice? How long did you afk for and how many times did magic pot show up?
@@kenshinyusuke like it says, is RNG but you have to be present to activate it. You could be watching a movie or doing something else while you do this. In 6 hours I got Kaiser Knuckles, Elixirs, Materia (nothing special) and the last one got me 5 rolling pins, then I stop.

It's the last of three chests on "Wutai in the Slums" behind the boss. You have to skirt round the side of boss to get to the chest.

I'm glad I found this at the beginning of ch3 in reactor 5. I figured it was pretty much "do missions asap". Currently just abusing Jump spam, though I knew that would eventually stop carrying me past 6 or 7star missions too reliably.
Roughly much Gil would you say you'd need before moving on from farming Magic Pot in your guide? :)

Gravity is ineffective against a lot of bosses also with both Status Strike and Hell Thundaga mastered, they do not inflict death. At all. So I do not know if this has been patched or what but this guide severely needs revision.

I found on farming the magic pot that after I got my first pot summon using the method Voxel Smith mentions in the comments to get my first level 5 pot, I stayed behind patiently waiting for more pot summons and killed a ton of tonberrys as who doesnt like smahing them things up. But I was able to get a ton of gil of the tomberrys them self 500 each, 10 rolling pins a ribbon and as a bonus encountered more magic pots when I used the moves it asked me dropped items like Docs code and Feather cap as extras. Not a bad farming area early game at all.

This is easy. Just use materia fusion and upgrade your materia to get those one hit kills on enemies with dark firaga, dark thunderga, and dark blizraga. I also like using blizzara blade too. Plus if you have a fira blade or blizzara blade materia. You can Fuse those at max level with any dark top tier materia to get hell firaga, hell blizzaga, and hell tundraga. Which are super op materias and not too hard to get at the start of the game.
Even when Magic Pot is the only DMW from Chocobo Mode that I have, it sometimes fails because the middle wheel gives me blacked out characters like Cait Sith. Did anyone notice that?

So while farming Magic Pot is there anything specific you should get? I know you mentioned a few things but is it mostly the money and Shinra+?
I would say Ribbon is a good starter but the list is:
Limit Break Level 1: Libra, Graviga, Drain, Curaga
Limit Break Level 2: Iron Bangle, Titanium Bangle, Carbon Bangle, Platinum Bangle.
Limit Break Level 3: Kaiser Knuckles, Shinra Beta+, Royal Crown, Crystal Orb
Limit Break Level 4: Elixir (x5,) Elixir (x10) Phoenix Down (x1) Phoenix Down (x3).
Limit Break Level 5: Ribbon, Gold Rolling Pin (x1), Gold Rolling Pin (x3), Gold Rolling Pin (x5)
What you want to aim for is g old rolling pin as many as you can get in 3 days I got 57 pins. Ribbon, elixir, phoenix downs, kaiser knuckeles +30 attack shinra beta + vitality +80, Crystal orb has magic defence SPR+80, royal crown ios mag+ 30, graviga, curaga are nice to have, platinum bangle is the best out of the bangles offering +50% hp
Essentially farming this before completing the stage for 3 days I eneded up getting everything lol.
You know what, since this is the past FF7 game, I kinda wish they made a further past how Sephiroth became who he is today, so you can level him up cast some bizare magics and attacks, and towards end of game you get a katana called Masamune the legendary long sword that only Seph can wield with one hand lol.. Imagine how cool the gameplay can be when new game + can offer you modes that let you increase your power with the one wing angel and can pick costumes and stuff to wear during gameplay. DAYUM
this is very frustrating to do in Hard mode but it would go a long way to making the rest of the game easier
oh yea hard mode will be a MUCH MUCH harder challenge due to having anywhere from 5x all the way to 10x the HP
So, I did the long 10-2-3 grind until I couldn't stand it anymore, and I think most people would find it less obnoxious to grind up Magic Pot loot in 1-1-1 after finishing 10-2-3 than trying to extend it. Yes, it's less common, but you have to be paying attention throughout the ENTIRE grind session. Hanging around in 1-1-1 is:
* Essentially risk-free.
* Can be quit and restarted whenever.
* Is nearly input-free.
I played on PC, and I was able to keep Crisis Core running in the background while I did other things and just tabbed over when I saw the yellow and purple for Item Mugger.
I'm failing to see how blast waves is incredibly useful for missions. Practically everything, including the bosses, are immune to it. Maybe it was broken years ago but I don't see it being all that useful in this version.
Did you max out its level?
max out its level, ALOT of very difficult mobs are weak to it and its a great stopgap until you get double cast electrocute

Biggest issue I had so far was all the Vajradhara enemies in the Wutai missions (4-x-x), there are 2 kinds and only one seems susceptible to Gravity, but the Vajradhara Indra isn't and is MUCH more common in the missions, especially as bosses. Using Gravity on him is just negated. Even with 2 Shinra Beta+ equuiped, his Boomerang attack can OHKO me
use Barrier or Wall materia for them and increase your HP/Vit as much as possible to just brute force survive them and then heal, as for killing them you should have a magic punch available, by using that you should deal max damage to kill them
But how do you get magical punch in chapter two?
my method is to get HP+++ (whatever it takes so you can have more HP than the damage number) and other materias that adds HP%, and make sure to cast barrier or wall (fused from quake + other materia), then spam hell blizzard and dodge until it is dead.

Same issue here..i cant clear them at level 17. Always die at their limit break.
First time playing I always wanted this game but never had psp and as soon as I got an idea of how things worked I was like this is breakable. But I'll play it normally to experience it properly

I think the only issue here is clearing the 6 star missions before even being able to get the wutai shop. Even at level 25 and with a barrier, u can easily get one shotted.... so u may as well set aside some time to level barrier, gravity, cure, and poison to max before attempting any of the tough missions, and yes, it's a skill issue, I know lmao. Another thing is this version of the game kinda made a bunch of enemies immune to gravity, which is silly imo
avoid random encounters, 99% of the time they're harder than the bosses, spam gravity and poison until you get tri thundaga then spam gravity and tri thunderga from a safe distance, i didnt really start running into many issues until i got to around the 8 star+ missions so i cant really offer much advice for you im afraid

I played the hell outta psp version but I feel like the enemies stagger less in this game if that makes any sense? Regardless it's a skill issue on my part I feel. Oh and I think just getting 3-5 gold pins is enough as a start since there are mission already offering hell thundaga, and the blue materias. As your other video already mitigated the need to stay longer and farm the magic pot since we can just steal the rest later (much sooner than later actually).

Has magic pot been fixed for stealing gold rolling pins? Did exactly as the tutorial said and rolled a bahamut summon. Got magic pot and been wandering the mission for an hour with no magic pot summon.

To clarify, in terms of getting Magic Pot on the DMW, what do you mean by "incredibly frequently"? I've been doing this for a while now on a fresh save doing everything exactly as described on Chapter 2 yet Magic Pot barely ever shows its face (I even had to start over because I picked up Ifrit by mistake in case that influenced anything)
I dont know if I did exactly the same but I got my first pot after getting the magic pot. Soon as I got that I killed the tomberry and went to another random enc in the same mission I was lucky to get 5 gold pins elxir and a ribbon. Try changing battle after you hit a magic pot, though I may literally just lucked it. I also picked up ifrit and other summons so it messed me up but a new start i was lucky, I say be patient blast some music and it should show. All the luck too you.
I also use this time to level my magic up as im waiting for pot to show. Also as Voxel Smith commented above in the comments I would follow that to narrow down the time.

By the way, I've discovered something with regards to farming items from Magic Pot. There was a spot in the map where you can fight tonberrys and it can get stuck walking. Meaning you can make tonberry stuck and just stand and wait till you get Magic Pot DMW.

You need to bait Tonberry to follow you on the edge and when he's almost near you, run to the other side. That makes Tonberry get stuck on one of the rocks there. Is there any way I can send you screenshots? So that it's a little more clear.

just thought I’d point out that if you’re going for the Genji Shield, you NEED to make sure you’ve already unlocked the magic pot DMW, because otherwise that’s the only reward you will get, I did this magic pot first and ended up having to do it all over again, and since I’m in chapter 4 with no Octaslash materia, it took me like 5 hours total

@@deusvlad2.083 you get the Genji shield for finishing a random Magic Pot encounter in mission 7-6-6. He will ask you to do Gill Toss>Costly Punch>99,999 damage> and the Octoslash (sephiroth) Limit Break in that order. As long as you’ve already gotten the magic pot DMW from one of the magic pots, he will reward you with the Genji Shield.
bare in mind it might take a while to get Octoslash to show up if you are doing this early in the game, since you don’t get Octoslash Materia until chapter 9. It’s literal RNG, and the more DMW’s you have unlocked the less chance you have for it to show up.
So if you’re trying to get over powered early, like me, it might take quite a few hours.
But if you’re just trying to get Genji Shield at any time and would rather not grind that hard, wait until chapter 9 when you can buy the Octoslash Materia from the Gongaga shop.

right now I got magic pot, and before completing the tonberry map, I'm still there got a normal tonberry stuck on some rocks and afk waiting for magic pot to come up so I can keep getting items but man its taking more than 3 hours he shows up once every 20-30 minutes or so. That is so annoying lol
@@deusvlad2.083 you don’t. you just keep retrying magic pot until you manage to get octoslash to roll on DMW, you can just click start-give up and retry if he says “disappointed” so you don’t have to get him to spawn again.
and you can do like 90% of the missions once you get to chapter 3, you just have to make sure to talk to all the Orange NPC’s around midgar and in Shinra HQ to unlock them, after that you just do all the missions you want and you can pretty much unlock every ability and piece of gear in the game except for a select few things that require you to progress further.
my recommendation is to unlock the DMW by doing the magic pot in 2-2-6, who asks for simple -ga spells, and then going to the one in 7-6-6.
But yea, if you want it early, you’re going to have to grind, it took me like 3 hours to get octoslash the first time but since I didn’t have the DMW unlocked, had to do it again for another 2 hours to finally get the shield, that being said, this is just how I play final fantasy games, I grind and powerlevel so it’s fun for me, don’t think it’s for everyone.

Don't need to explain yourself about how you play your games, don't worry m8 I am too like that, You should see what I did in final fantasy tactics duplicating all the best gear weapons and armors and equipping that character can't remember his name with 2 excaliburs for insane damage and speed lol. I power leveled so early on that I got everything I could possibly get with just a few levels unlocked lol rest was fun to just go through.
Don't care about challenge in games anymore, I'm too old for that, just like power leveling and going through storylines and collecting items cause I'm a no good hoarder cheating cheater lol.

Good video. Just to be clear to make the most of getting magic jar early, you have to get magic jar before getting ANY other summon?
I want to correct something you said about Tri-Thundaga, it's actually in the next mission, 4-4-4 "Wutai in the Slums", specifically in the chest that's a little beyond the boss of the map. On a personal level I'm actually struggling to clear this mission as the boss seems to ALWAYS, 100% of the time cast it's "ultimate" attack and there's just no way for me to even get it under 75% damage and it just does 12k and insta kills me.
use Wall/Barrier/Mbarrier for alot of limit break attacks if you push high stages early

@@SuntanAlbino you can also use the free pheonix down potion from soldier eq ( the woman at the entrance ) then u will be rivied after the break, and can kill with graviga, because he only imit breaks once.
How many bowling pins would be ideal to get? No less than 20 for example? Just started that mission now , I’m at the pre start for chapter 3.

I'm on chapter 6 with all but 2 of my DMV open I was able to get all the material bit the electrocute and costly punch mostly since I can't beat m4-4-4 or find hammer punch
So I tried taking the advice of the materia missions first but I got stuck on the last mission of that part. How do you deal with the death claws that early though?
just lots of effort while spamming magic, theres a good few stages that took me multiple tries at, the hardest i was stuck on for about an hour
Spells! Ur best friends in the early game, so brokenI think they're weak to blizz or fire and honestly - 1 ,2 spell rinse repeat until they die.

I'm a bit confused on the reel thing though so I get the pictures are more for the special attacks but can you explain the number thing though I get that it determines the buffs u yet and either level your character or materia up but the part I don't get a sides from the 3 7s being leveling your character I believe. Is how does the leveling the materia work and determined?
Hell Firaga, Hell Blizzara, and Hell Thundraga are the most OP spells in the game. I found a way to essentially ensure that you can spam the spells in battle.
Amazing guide, currently at chap 4 and im only lvl 18. Currently trying out the magic pot golden pin farmbut im here just running around a tonberry and I haven’t gotten a summon dmw. is there something i can do to get a better chance for it?

Yea the 70% of the time is not true. Either that or it's been patched. I have been doing this 2 hours n have got the pot to summon 2 times
i never said it happens 70% of the time, i said if you get tonberry it LOWERS the chance of it happening by 75% because of DMW priority. as for the farm, once you get magic pot DMW enter a fight with a normal tonberry kill them off except 1 and then just run around staying alive. it can take for magic pot to trigger as its still an RNG slot wheel at the end of the day. this is simply the best time and best odds of getting it.

I swear most of my deaths came from the abilities that are unavoidable. I don’t know what to do and kept getting stuck in later missions. I even used up all my phoenix downs and had no more to use on later levels. Higher materias won’t help that I can’t even break down the ability meter down to 75%.
Same issue here. At 4-2-5, I can't get the mob's ability power down to 75% and Mace Boomerang one-shots me even with Barrier.
Great guide, but it seems like I'm the only one that was struggling with those five stars+ missions😂. I'm currently at level 21, 6 hours in, and at the start of chapter 4. May I ask how do you guys beat those missions so early in the game? Do I need to level up or should I just keep practicing until I get through them?
Get the Energy materia from a side mission and you will wreck everything.

Once I got barrier I was able to tank so much damage. If you have barrier, put it on and get it leveled up. Eventually replace it with wall, wall gives physical AND magic defense
pretty much you spamming gravity and poison and running around till they die. when you can buy the hell blizzaga you use that as well. then when you get the tri thundaga thats your next go to. then you pretty much get electrute and are just dodging and one shoting things. currently Im stuck cause now Im at the 8 star missions and need that attack limit break cause 9999 cant do shit to 100,000 health without taking its time and Im out of phoneix downs

By "incredibly frequently" how often are we talking? Ive been running around this Tonberry for 20 minutes and haven't gotten a magic pot summon. In 45 minutes I've only seen it once and that was right after I added the pot to the DMW.

I found this video after already fighting to m9-4 in the mako reactor 5 - I feel like I’m gonna one shot story bosses for the rest of the game after I finish this side mission grind. I just can’t resist playing side missions until they are all done or I’m like hard gated before I continue with story

just stay in 1-1-1 and its gonna level you automatically because the enemies do no damage and you can stay in the fight indefinitly

You can’t do any of this because you can’t unlock the shop because in mission 4-2-3 the objective party has and unavoidable attack that’s an insta-kill. At level 20, with barrier on it does 8K damage

I played the original on the psp back in the day and bought ff7 from my cousin back in 97 for 10 bucks been hooked ever since and I'm almost 40 now even my kids play it with me I'm just glad they left it the same as the psp and added more things to it suck the voice actors changed for Zack but it is what it is still a great game

fyi the price for 1 hell materia plus all the equiment mentioned is 195000 gil so you need to get 4 golden pins minimum from magic pot farming
