- Today I'm doing something a little different. I'm showing you my 2000 Ford Ranger XLT 2WD. I've owned the truck for 2 years. I have put a bed liner in it, replaced a couple of lights, put all new shocks on it, removed the chin spoiler, replaced the brake pads, and replaced the sway bar end links and bushings. I recently got a pair of rough country coil springs that are 1.5 inches taller than the stock coil springs and will level the truck, allowing me to put 31-inch tires on without rubbing (hopefully). I will be getting the front end suspension bushings replaced and will put the new coil springs in soon. Somewhere down the road, I plan on repainting it after all the years of faded paint it has had, but that'll have to wait. I have taken the Ranger on many adventures and will be taking it on even bigger adventures soon. I hope you enjoyed the video, thanks for watching.

that green looks so good
I’d honestly want one of these as my daily driver and off road if at times while I work on my project car
one of the best trucks ever invented.
Bought one exactly like yours new in 2000. It now has 129k miles. Excellent truck
2000 Ford Ranger was my first brand new vehicle. I was 20 and wanted something new. Mine was a super cab 2 door manual 3.0 V6. XLT. The tachometer was an option believe it or not. Mine was a manual and it still didn't have a tach but some higher end trucks did have it. Either way it was a terrific little truck.
A manual without a tach?
I had a 2000 ranger for many years, i didnt know they had them with the clam shell doors. my back did not open
Mine doesnt open either. Mine is manual.
It's a great truck, I have issues with it so I'm not sure how long it's gonna last but it sure has been a good truck for my family
I use a ford ranger for my mobile detailing business. Couldn’t find a ford van, and better than a f150 for my purpose.
Great video man!
We are on our 4th Ranger.
The first one was a 83 with a horrible 2.0 4cyl. It was GUTLESS. Our 2nd one was an 88 with a 2.3 , 5spd 4X4 and it was an awesome pickup. My wife didn’t have it in 4WD and hit a patch of ice, flipping it in a ditch, totaling it. Our 3rd was a 90 with a 3.0 V6. It was ok, but we needed more hp and torque.
Our current Ranger is a 2011 XLT super cab 4X4 with a 4.0 V6, 5spd auto transmission.
We added a K&N intake and a 3” Magniflow exhaust. ( with these 2 mods we get 25mpg on the freeway with the cruise set on 75mph).
We / I also added a LineX spray in bed liner, running boards, custom wheels, custom 2 tone paint, (Silver over Red metallic), red pinstripes, custom upholstery to match the exterior colors, adjustable air shocks in the rear (we haul a lot of top soil, gravel, etc), skid plates.
It has every option available on the 11 XLT including a tow pkg and limited slip differential.
I change the oil every 4K miles with Mobile 1 full synthetic and I change the front and rear differential, transfer case and a transmission flush every 30K miles, ( which I do on every vehicle we own).
Our Ranger will soon be 12 years old and it only has 35K original miles.
I’ve been offered $25K for our Ranger, (KBB without the mods), but I think it’s worth at least 28K.
We’d like to buy a full size pickup, so any offers over $27K will be considered.
If you had the hood repainted and had yours 2 toned with tan metallic, it would be a show stopper.
👍🏻
Ive got the same truck in beige. Moving sale picked her up for 1k at 130k miles 😁😁😁
I have a white Ford ranger That’s a 2000 Xlt with clam shell doors and folding down seats it’s a 4x4 auto with a 175k just needs a head gasket
From the video it looks like you're pretty tall. I'm 6'4" myself and I'm wondering if this truck is accomodating for tall people despite being compact.
I’m 6ft tall and have no problems with headroom. There are probably three inches of extra room above my head or maybe even more than that. I don’t think I even have the seat all the way back either. Might wanna just try one out for yourself though...
Got same color but manual and 2 door
You lucky dog ..my 98 ranger got stolen and totaled..couldn't find another here in Tennessee... got my wife a better car instead.. I got her car (bleck,) .
How much these going for nowadays
Most are more than 3k around me. They have gone up to more than 4k recently with the way the market is. A nicer one will cost quite a lot of money for the amount of vehicle you get. They are good little trucks no matter how you cut it though. They hold their own
Still got the truck ?
yes
@@MichaelVanHeemst how's it holding up? You do anything to it?
@@flonkas It's in a completely stock state. All I have done is routine maintenance and replace parts. The only things I have absolutely had to replace was the radiator, water pump, timing chain cover gasket, the timing chain, and the AC compressor. I bought the truck with 157K and it now has 184K. It's done thousands of miles on dirt. I'm pretty happy with it to say the least.
Should I get one for a first car?
If you plan on using it as a truck or just want one then yes. Very easy to fix and easy to drive
@@MichaelVanHeemst I’m just gonna use it as a daily and haul my four wheeler sometimes
@@lukemattice8550 recently I’ve been hauling my Kawasaki Prairie in the bed of mine and it does pretty well for such a small truck and 600+ pounds of equipment
@@MichaelVanHeemst ok thank you
@@MichaelVanHeemst saw one for sale has 85k miles do these truck last a long time ?
Dam bro your about the size of a tree
Are you sure the radio is not 2000 Ford Explorer
They used the same radio from the Explorer to the F-350. Ford used a lot of the same parts for all their cars at that time
Oh ok I like Ford ranger
