Beautiful!! Did anyone noticed that Ms. Dionne started this gem as a ballad then segue straight into the genre of Disco!! Hmm she once said disco is not her, but I say she damn sure fooled us here🤣🤣🤣. Only Ms. Dionne🙂❤
Yes, this was done on Johnny Carson and as part of her Las Vegas act at the time. It is the slow version specially arranged by the musical director Michael Miller from the "Solid Gold" show.
@@singingmanmd You are welcome. I wonder if Dionne could still do this song in a similar style at the age of 81. She was 40 when this version originally was done and still can sing, though in a lower register. She helped make that show for the original 1980-1981 season and the 1985-1986 season.
She was and still is a Legend...she was stepping into the time of the 1980s TV video boom. Please don't disrespect a Timless Black Legend. Put a mask on the rest of your shitty face. Thank you so much.
@@livingincolor It has been updated as April 12, 1981, by Michael Miller, the musical director of the show, who has his version and the end theme from that episode on RUclips as well.
@@jasonburger3533 It was probably taped on April 12 but it aired on April 25, 1981. A lot of television shows (unless it's the news or any live show) always tape in advance before it is broadcast.
@@livingincolor Well, that might be, but Michael Miller, the musical director from the show, has a RUclips channel that has that as the original airdate. That has been on RUclips for 13 years, but has been just recently dated, as he added many videos of Dionne Warwick and Marilyn McCoo and Rex Smith and many other "Solid Gold" videos as well as interest in the show has increased as well as increased social media presence on Instagram and Twitter by the former hosts and singers as well,
