I lived for the duet segments. Michael Miller’s arrangements and medley mashups were always EPIC to me. I recorded all of Dionne’s solos and her duets on cassette and played them for years. I never thought I’d see the videos again. I’m so grateful and thrilled to relive this period in my musical life. SG was a huge part of my saturday nights.

Some of the choreographies and the way the women moved look as modern as that in the current time...except that they were much more classy. Love love love ! There were 332 episodes of "Solid Gold" from 1980-1988. It is now considered a classic. By the way, most American television, including "Solid Gold" when it aired, has commercial breaks for sponsored advertisements and network and station promos, which average 8 minutes per 30 minutes show, or 16 minutes per 1 hour show. That is how they keep on the air. There are much longer video clips with the Solid Gold Dancers and some of their acrobatics. There were always 2 men and 6 women, with new ones as the show moved through the 1980s.

Do you know if there had been other Chicago songs and if the band had performed on SG. Air Supply is fantastic with Dionne as much as with Marilyn (Sweet Dreams). There was a great era, when the different musical genres blended so well 🙂.

Existem vozes tão boas como a da Dionne, mas são poucas de gerações parecidas, a Barbra Streisand, as vocalistas,do ABBA, Anne Lennox do Eurythmics por exemplo. São poucos e tem gabarito para isso. E o talento aparece ainda mais diante do lixo que as pessoas hoje em dia ouvem.
