13:38 Steve Smith being one of Australia's best bowlers back in 2010 made me chuckle.
I do remember Vettori chocking India in 2007 t20 wc. India actually took Murali vijay and Jaddu to bat in the top 5 in the 2009 edition.
This analysis proves that cricket is far beyond the realms of numbers like averages and to some extent strike rates. Shahid Afridi being the MVP of the first two editions of T20 World Cup is a true homage to his legacy!
Thanks for this amazing video, Jarrod! You're educating the newbies of cricket what cricket really is.
Best regards!
I was watching Sky Sports' highlights package of the 2009 world t20 and as far as I can work out, Pakistan's only tactic was "having shahid afridi" - they had Fawad Alam as a non-bowling number 8, Misbah as a finisher, an opener who averaged 11 and struck at less than a run a ball in his t20i career, and often extremely strange use of the bowlers' overs and none of that seemed to matter because Afridi was just that good
Shahid Afridi is so underrated. At the time of writing this he is 47! He still plays T10s and franchise cricket sometimes and doesn't look 30. He came before MS Dhoni and opened Pakistan's batting in the 90s and early 2000s and in the late 2000s became the first true six-hitting finisher alongside Angelo Mathews.
On top of all that, he was one of the deadliest leg spinners and an excellent fielder. He may not have been the best captain, but he is definitely one of the best players of all time, objectively. It's a shame the media never talks about him. One of the GOATS.
Nah… he is neither a bowler nor a batsman.
2 MVPs for my man Boom Boom Afridi, Pakistan played the finals of both editions, could've won both if it wasn't for the unfortunate scoop of Misbah, who rescued Pakistan only to lose it to arch-rivals in the final over. No wonder the man is loved by many. A legend of the game!
That Hussey innings was so good. Chasing, against Ajmal in his prime, and from the position they were in. So good.
i was quite sure during your intro part that Ashraful's name would come up. Just like his career, he had a poor run after an astonishing start. Can I expect a video from you with your analysis on why Bangladeshi batters fail even when some of them are extremely gifted?
Would it be fair to say that the senior Indian players did great service by vacating the world cup spots for youngsters and how it would come to be the only time India lifted the cup.
Yes
Wish the seniors could've done it for this year. You'll see that India will choke under pressure once again because these seniors play for themselves and are scared to get out when they need to take the game on.
How do I calculate these values by myself? Is there a website where I could make queries? And do these values work for career level runs and wickets?
Yuvraj singh 2007🔥
Hey Jarrod i have got a question. How does one calculate or even get stats like true sr /avg for batsmen and true eco/wickets for batsmen. Also like basketball has clutch points as a stat is there a stat like for cricket for eg:like clutch runs or wickets.
Will watch it later, but love your analysis
Can someone explain what does "True" in this context means?
Compared to average of all players in the particular overs/time period player batted/bowled.
Ex- 140 is good strike rate in middle overs but not at death.economy of 9 is fine at death, terrible at middle.
@@paysmenot2624 how is it calculated?
Hey Jarrod, just a suggestion instead of talking over graphs may be show pictures or video clips of the players that you are talking about. This will make it more interesting
Sadly he can't cause cricket boards suck! 🤣
Kohli 2014 and 2016 will be unreal💀
Bro one guy already got two mvps and you're still obsessed with chokli
