That dyno doesnt lie to you when you have it hooked properly. I believed you when you said it does better then rated power. Thats quite impressive coming out something so small. Thanks for sharing Derek.
That is one sick lil amp, it's amazing what technology is allowing us to do with car audio these days. I hope I can get my hands on one of those amps. Here in Tucson, AZ sundown audio isn't real big here but I definitely have been a huge fan for many years and will continue to stand behind sundown and their products because I know in the car audio market they are one of the top contender's because they are one of the best. Keep up the awesome work, can't wait to see more.
I’m in Tucson. Currently have 2 SA12’s in my Camaro. This Friday I’m getting delivered a 15” Sundown X V2. Plan on taking out my back seat and putting in a box for it. Gonna pound!! Then I’m gonna put the 12’s in my Malibu.
If you're in Tucson, contact Rick Staton on Facebook, he's our local Sundown dealer, and a hella cool dude. We love Sundown products here, there's more of us than you think! Bass on, fellow Tucsonans
I dig the clip light but I think it gives some of the newer people the wrong idea. A properly tuned sub amp is going to clip once in a while. That little flash is an annoyance that will lead people to turn the gain down when there isn't really anything unsafe about the occasional clipping.
This is exactly what I'm looking for. I own a 2 door Jeep Wrangler and have been stressing on finding a suitable amp location, there is virtually no room to mount a normal sized sub amp (other than on the sub box, which I'm trying to avoid). Will be watching for the release date on this.
I am impressed cant believe your getting that much reliable power out of six audio mosfets and four power Fets. Looks like you could get that into a smaller footprint heat sink with. A better layout. That's awesome. Your realy kickin it on these micro amps. These are great for the Harley Bagger guys who like to bump bass on their bikes. Thanx for sharing these great dyno videos.
84% Eff at 2ohm is what I get. Guts: Big square transformer is fed DC input that is being switched off and on to generate AC (square wave) voltage for the rails via the transformer. This is driven by some FETs on the heat sink along with some TO package diodes on the heatsink. It gets rectified and filtered, that is what the big caps as they are for the rails for the amp. Not going to get into class D amp theory but the other red inductor is part of the low pass filter for the output stage to the speakers as 400+ kHz is not needed from the class D stage . (Rolls off at 20kHz). Very brief and does not cover all the crossover electronics and other stuff. It's been a while since I did component level stuff. Sure do miss it though, not much of doing it around anymore due to the nature of everything going modular/throw away. That is technology though.... I started out repairing car audio in the early 90s and most of that back then was class A/B amps. Class D started getting traction in the late 90s with bass amps/mono blocks. Full spectrum took a little longer for the technology to catch up and make it affordable. It is amazing how the components are getting smaller and better at handling more current making it possible to shrink these down to what they are getting to. I really don't understand making a mono block full range though, but I'm sure someone will find a use for these at full range. I would think it is safe to say that most of these will be used as bass amps though. The price is excellent at $189. A 1000 watt amp back in the day was huge and very expensive. I hope we don't take for granted some of the spoils we get these days... Thanks for sharing.
Your mental math is right on.. the efficiency at 2 ohm I got 83.9%. I would have loved to see the current draw at 2 ohm and 1 ohm both though. But that amp is amazing I'm gonna have to buy one!
Yeah boi! This isn't much bigger than the SAM-500D I tested recently and about the same price also. What are the thoughts for a 5ch version? 200.4 plus this 1000 on sub channel, that would be the single amp ticket!
i guess im asking the wrong place but does any of you know of a method to log back into an instagram account? I was dumb forgot my login password. I appreciate any assistance you can give me.
The Blue Capacitors and the Red choke are the output filters. The yellow Transformer, boosting the 12V (14.4v) to ~32V. Mounted to the heat sink, near the Xformer would be the Power Supply mosfets and the Rectifying Diodes. Near the filters on the heat sink would be the output Mosfets. No flying wires, clean design. Nice to see it's discreet components and not some IC chip.
well it's been out two years now and I finally bought the 13500.... took me that long to upgrade my electrical... I can now power a couple houses if I wanted
im not surprised that they are able to cram these amps into such small areas now, when you use all ultra small surface mount components in the board you can really cram it. Also, i do know that some of the infineon class D controller chips (most common controllers used) have a recommended circuit for 500W of power with only 2 MOSFETs, and you can scale it up from there
I can tell you what those parts and pieces inside the amp do. The Yellow part and the round coppery part are designed to shoot sparks when you a stick a screwdriver in there.
Got the sfb 3k powering my zv412 @ 1ohm. Love mine. EXCEPT IT DIDNT COME WITH A BASS KNOB THAT HAD A CLIP LIGHT which sucks that now I’m going to have to buy one, When your now offering them. I attempted to use my sundown bass knob from my 2000d and that was a no no, it immediately punched the sub 2 times and I said yeah. No. Was happy to see you stuck with the same type of plug for sure
How does it do with filtering out noise from say the ignition? That is one of the issues I have noticed with these types of small power houses, not many rail caps or input filter caps and the transformer is tiny for the amount of output. Seems like things will be running strained.
1000 @ 2ohm and 1400@ 1 ohm. These style amps make good power at 2 ohms as well. So if box rise at 1 ohm wired sub is seeing 2 ohm reactive. Your sub is still getting the power it needs at 2 ohm.
All SFB amps are tested at 40hz. I explain this in great detail in the video including why and what's different about these compared to other similar amps.
Sundown Audio unofficial Sorry, somehow I missed those 5 seconds towards the beginning. If these amps don't overheat on sub duty, and still sound transparent like the other topologies, then you have a winner here. The only amp right now that I'm aware of with the same power, same efficiency - but better dynamic power reserves - is the class D kappa k1000 for 179.99 on e bay. Mind you it's this price because it's a discontinued product and retail was like 500$ or more... If I needed huge power for my doors this amp would be a real contender for me. I personally hope you put out a 5 channel with at least 2K RMS on the sub channel in the SFB series. Cheers
Man I need to get the SALT 6k but saving up for the PS5 at the same time. This is a hard choice to make here LOL I like the electronics parts the transformer the rail caps a small protection ciruit Power MOSFETS on one side the driver board IC chip/micro resistors on the other awesome. And like you said no need to go lower then that AMP LOAD 1 OHM FINAL
I went with XBOX S with “Ultimate Game Pass”(300 +games in library) & Down4Sounds JP8 amp thats 3x the features @ 1ohm with both systems I’m super happy with performance of both systems! Just one’s opinion and money saved! Let me know your thoughts?@_1_570
Electrolytic Capacitors and green capacitors inductors resistors potentiometers transformer power transistors idk maybe fets or something I can’t see the small components on the board
they need to hurry up and release the small amps so I can replace my boat anchors. I like the sundown only. about to update my 5 year old setup. I need the baby amps

Hizoly shizit!!!!!!! 1459 watts!!!! Under $200? They gonna own the market with these lil amps since they'll theoretically pop right in your has sippin daily drivers with a decent head unit your banging whatever you can throw at it.
Being from the 90s audio era this new shit doesn't even make sense to me. Amazing how much power they put out in such a small footprint. Wish I could take one of these with back in time with me.
For real. Little things like that, I'm like wtf? Couldn't put it on the more expensive amp? Of course cuz I just bought one today and that's kinda how I feel

That is so insane for that little amp!! More powerful than the Rockford Prime 1200 with a smaller foot print..

Now I see this comment. I just pict one of these up with an x8 from JP.
Do you ship across NC? That's where I am!

I know right!? Me too.
I just got this installed last week in my scatpack!!!!!🤟🏾🤟🏾🤟🏾
Wholly moley that little amplifier is a beast
full bridge psu and full bridge amplifier , it seems to be the topology by which all brands begin to be inline.

I would say rather, great job, soundigital and taramps
@@mikeunivers I'm with ya but only 85 or so Amps being pulled for over 1000 watts is really good but ya soundigital is great.
Exactly, just another H-class amp copy made in China. Literally 30$ in components, heatsink included.
I am definitely impressed (not that it matters). I'm going to have to rethink my amp brand decision for my build for the 15's.
awesome little powerhouse

Bad ass little amp 👍👍👍👍👍👍

Where are the fuses on the FSB-1000D?
Is this with a 40hz or 1Khz sine wave? I would also like to see a test at 12.6v like some other companies also include in their documentation.
