ABOUT IRON MAIDEN:
Iron Maiden are an institution. Over the course of six decades they have come to embody a spirit of fearless creative independence, ferocious dedication to their fans, and a cheerful indifference to their critics that’s won them a following that spans every culture, generation, and time-zone. A story of gritty determination and courageous defiance of the naysayers, theirs has been an adventure like no other.
The band’s immense discography includes the studio albums ‘The Number Of The Beast’, ‘Piece Of Mind’, ‘Powerslave, ‘Somewhere In Time’, ‘Seventh Son Of A Seventh Son’, ‘Fear Of The Dark’, ‘The Final Frontier’ and ‘The Book Of Souls’ which have spawned many classic hits as ‘The Trooper’, ‘Wasted Years’, ‘Hallowed Be Thy Name’, ‘Wasting Love’, ‘Run To The Hills’, ‘Aces High’, ‘Rime Of The Ancient Mariner’ and ‘2 Minutes to Midnight’.

R.I.P. Clive Burr!!! One of the best drummers I´ve ever seen!
The greatest metal drummer of all time...
Cozy Powell....
Yeah! I agree.
@@magyarorszagmagyarorszag5923 why you need to say Powell? And so ian paice? Bonham? Appice brothers? Dave lombardo? Nick menza? Vinnie colaiuta? Dean castronovo? Neil perth? Mark zonder? Tommy aldridge? The same nicko mcbrain? Bill ward? Phil Collins? ...the world is full, of legendary drummers. Do we wanna nominate all? In this case he is just remembering the great burr, that he left us. What you mean with powell? It s a competion?
+the rime of the ancient mariner 7474 you forgot Barrie (BJ) Wilson.
Old Maiden is just the best. A total different band, raw and they kicked ass for real.
Totally. Almost a punk rock band.
I still absolutely love their early albums with Di'Anno!
This guy was the second best singer for Iron maiden
Originals cannot lie
I personally like Paul better as a singer, love the lower register and rawness of his voice. I realize personally, he was a mess and they had to replace him and luckily for them it worked out.
yes clive burr great drumer
yes i agree
Dave, Paul , Clive , Steve and Dennis ♥️♥️ Iron Maiden 1980 ♥️♥️
but the best comes when adrian joined them
Only on his stuff. He plays Dennis's stuff kinda muted@@patnoth4853
Clive Burr was such a fantastic drummer! His double time on the hi-hat was so bad ass!
R.I.P. Clive Burr 🥁
Much better than Nicko One-Beat.
...and the way he snaps off that hit-hat slide into the cymbal hit is just razor sharp
Dennis Stratton is awesome. His contribution to the earliest Maiden recordings were indispensable.
What happened to him why was he sacked
Steve Harris looks pretty much the same. I think the guy is immortal.
I think the same.
Like my mum, Steve doesn’t grow old ..
Maybe he also does hairdye and makeup?
@@spunnek75 Hairdye yes, for sure. It's not human having brown hair at 64 😄
But no makeup! He's definitely got the signs of time on his face...
I Hope! He s Iron maiden and a legend for music...🤟
@@hoolivier9983 : he is the “daddy” of the band ...
Don't know whether to laugh or cry. Shirl was the only guy who could do this song justice. The song lives on I guess. Rest in peace my good friend.
You can cry. For many reasons.
Clive Burr, the first Happy Drumer of Maiden.
I'm glad Nikko has kept smiling behind the kit. Maiden wouldn't be the same with a scowling, serious drummer.
@@MichaelD8393 Totally, I don't know if you know this but he played with Pat Travers' band in the late 70's before he played in Trust (I don't know if he played with Samson as well), and yeah Maiden.
@@dinorocker8647 I knew that as my aunt is a music historian; she taught me a lot at an early age. From metal & funk to pop & jazz!
@@MichaelD8393 That's cool, especially considerin' that even Jazz, Blues, R&B/Funk influenced the early Heavy Metal sound, which is the version I prefer.
@@dinorocker8647 Got that right.
Iron Maiden's first video. Nostalgic stuff.
Clive's drumming is absolutely KILLER on this song. Love it!!
I love Maiden's early punky stuff. They could be an entirely different beast now had Bruce not joined. All 3 singers brought something different to the band. Up the Irons! \m/
Clive was such an amazing drummer ! Rest in peace brother
Absolut!
Say what you will about Di'Anno. Dude sounds great here.
+Dragon Born Maiden's golden years.
+Haden Stephens underrated singer. i bet they blew the roof of live!
+Dragon Born An underrated rock singer. After leaving Maiden, he should have formed a supergroup with Steve Jones (Sex Pistols), Jimmy Bain (Rainbow) and Clive Burr. That would have been awesome.
+Dragon Born this was the iron punk era when they play punk music also clive is good but no better then nicko
+jorge cabrera
This isn't even close to punk. Maiden never played punk music.
Iron Maiden with Di Anno sounds more punk and dirty, which is cool!
@Harvey Tomlinson "punky" isn't punk, it means it has a taste like it... And I agree
I know we all love Adrian but, we cannot deny that Dennis Stratton killed it on that first album.
Such an underrated guitarist!!
How many bands Sey that all there singers and musicians were and still are amazing
Dennis killed it in his red leather pants 😄
Denise straton estaba muy bien maiden
i love all mbersof maiden
Killers was Di'anno's best album, even Harris was so proud of him.
Killers is the best Maiden album of all time! Wrathchild, Killers (title track), the Ides of March, And drifter. They r all great songs
It was good but the debut 1980 l.p. was better.
@@mattbarbarich3295 wasnt
Ahhh the memories. Awesome Skyhooks cover. Aussie band from 78. Old School Kicks arse. Saw Di'Anno ages ago in Wollongong at Waves in his own band. When he sung the old Maiden songs the place erupted. RIP Clive Burr. .😪
Ditto to all above although Skyhooks made it big in Australia in 1974 with their monster debut album. Women in Uniform was their last hurrah.
@@mattbarbarich3295 Love both versions.
I am a diehard Skyhooks fan from Australia, who wrote this song when I was teenager. Glad to see it covered, it's the best song!
Love the way Paul struts to the front at the beginning ❤
Clive the best drummer of maiden. Greatness
Big Dave Murray looks so badass.
Flat Earth Florida probably, chicks dig blonde hair.
Originally recorded by Australian band Skyhooks in 1978
Needs less roll and more rock.
Ok i gotta search that
I was at the filming of the SKYHOOKS video. I grew up seeing the band members around where I lived
@Flat Earth Florida NO
NO
R.I.P. Clive Burr You Will Be Missed, One of my favorite drummers of all time
Burr and DiAnno were awesome!!!
No problems with any of the lineups🥁🥁
Dave Murray is a legend
Paul's wailing howl at 2:25 = Godlike.
AMCmachine its good at best. Bruce’s however screams Maiden and feels like Eddie
Have a listen to the original if you haven't already. Our boy hit the notes like a god!
PChamileon97 At least Paul could sing consistently and doesn’t just wail for the entire duration of the song.
@@MLBFCollection You say that like Bruce is just some screech merchant
Paul was punk/grit with a street-wise feel, Bruce is polished/operatic with a penchant for melodrama. I respect the hell out of Bruce's singing ability but I'll take Paul's vocals any day of the week. Case in point? Their first two albums top any Maiden albums put out to date, and Paul was a huge part of that chemistry.
Holy fuck it's been 42 years this year since NUMBER OF THE BEST came out RIP Clive and to all Fallin METAL HEAD'S who lost their lives since 1982
70s/80s Aussie 🇦🇺 Rock is underrated.
Iron maiden are British
@@notramesses4790
The song was Originally by Skyhooks, An Australian band.
@SirSS oh yeah that's right. My bad!
@@notramesses4790this song was originally done by the Skyhooks who are Australian.
@TheTlc016 Yeah, I already got that.
Dennis Stratton!
Oh hell yeah. Love these guys.
RIP Clive.
R.I.P Clive, we're gonna miss you :'(
Very sadly.
UP the irons
The best drummer of Maiden
Nicko McBrain who?
Awesome! Maiden with Di'Anno on vocals just blows the competition away!
One of the very best rock songs of the 1970s. It was great livin' in the 70s.
But it wasn't theirs. Go the Skyhooks. Great Aussie band.
@@grahammelville-main7490I think ‘it was great livin’ in the 70s’ was a reference and acknowledgment that it WAS a Skyhooks song!
I fucking love early Maiden with Di'Anno on vox. The punk vibe he brings is awesome.
Paul Dianno is the only Punk Style Vocalist I listen to.
Lemmy Kilmister
Javier Sebastian Martin Suarez Peinado He is not punk style.
that's a pretty close minded choice mate
try Glenn Danzig, especially his second band called Samhain (in the band Danzig he uses more his metal voice but in Samhain he uses his punk voice)
Ein Walroß No???? Dude, he played with The Damned, one if the first UK punk rock bands.
I wish the whole first album sounded like this. Awesome mix
Happy 40th, Women In Uniform...released 27th October 1980!
adoro a voz do D´IANNO
Paul di'anno the best metal singer love and respect
First two albums are absolute Gold!
what a underrrated masterpiece!Love Dianno's era!
Can't really call a cover version a masterpiece can you? Well i guess you can but it just makes you look.....what is the word?....... Got it!! STUPID
@@catatonia1just shut the fuck up!
@@catatonia1 … I would call Hendrix' version of "All Along The Watchtower" a masterpiece, but it's a cover. I would call Zeppelin's version of "When The Levee Breaks" a masterpiece, but it's a cover. I'd call Humble Pie's version of "I Don't Need No Doctor" a masterpiece, but, whoopsie!, it's a cover. I'd say that Joan Jett's "I Love Rock & Roll" was a masterpiece, but...OH MY LAWDY...it's a cover! Stupid know-nothing dicknose.
@@christophermurphy7113 what about Metallica am I evil. and speaking of Hendrix , hey joe was also a cover I believe
Cover of a Skyhooks song, they had many!
Iron Maiden needs to release an album with songs that were previously exclusive on other projects like "Women In Uniform" "Invasion" "Virus" and more!
Nice Heavy version of the Aussie Skyhooks Classic🤘
Dave Murray solo is pure Maiden
Di'Anno at his best! UP THE IRONS!
still f*****g BANGS after 44 years. melbourne, victoria, AUSTRALIA concert now only 58 days away. 😁 UP THE IRONS!!! 🎸🤘
Love this tune and the first Eddie in the back.
Clive and Steve holding down the bottom end. This track is so heavy it's unreal!
I dont want to be somekind of blasmepher but my favorite musics, albuns and formation is in Iron Maiden and Killers, we have something very special and savage with Paul Di'Anno
+1 on that; I like all iterations of the band, but for me the Di'Anno era wins out by a nose!
Same here.
that's not blasphemy..it's truth
That is the young gorgeous maiden of Maiden.
One of the best covers ever, it should have been on one of the first two albums!
it's on some versions of Killers.. I believe the early Australian editions.
@@TheLarryburns84 yep it was
Dude, the Skyhooks original is so much better
@@VictorGreinvolfe48 I just heard the skyhooks original. Fkn terrible.
@@user-tf6vq9tz6b there’s a reason one of them is on Spotify and one isn’t. Aussie rock from the 70s to 90s fucking slapped
I dream of a world where Paul Di'Anno is the only singer of Iron Maiden !
We will never forget, see you later Clive
55 now and this was one of the songs that has sent me on a lifetime of the best music in the world…metal🤘🤘
Thank You Clive Burr
R.I.P
Vintage Iron Maiden! 🇬🇧🤘
My idols for eternity
this song should have been a top 40 hit
This is a fucking great kick ass cover song!!!so fucking underrated! i remember when i was only 18 years old now im 54 still, feel, when i was 18
Rock will never die!!!
Greates from Serbia.More strong Band on the World Forever...❤🎸
El Iron Maiden con Paul y Clive siempre será mi favorito, que poderosos y agresivos eran en ese tiempo, el aire casi callejero que le daba Paul a la banda fue increíble, amo a Bruce pero amo mucho más a Paul
Eres de los mios
My neighbors are constantly listening to Iron Maiden. It doesn’t matter if they like it or not
Love Powerslave, Somewhere in Time, Seventh, etc, BUT, when I'm in the mood for early Maiden, I'm convinced it's better
Love you Clive. ❤
Paul's vocal acute almost near to the final part left me chills, an acute made with such a spontaneity and feeling I never heard, for an ordinary pearson, but also for an ordinary singer, make an acute of this kind is simply impossible, his ability to sing by this way and make that acute is a divine gift, totally love this video, this has been also an epic formation, long live the 80s, forever!
I don't think you know what 'acute' means...
clive !!!!
the Authentic IRON MAIDEN, the best Dianno
Man, IM with Clive Burr, Dennis Stratton, Paul Di'Anno and the Hot Gossip gals - that's goin' back a'ways! :)
Such an underrated song
Original is better Oz group skyhooks..
Bruce is the best frontman. Up The Irons @IronMaidenUSA
thumbs up for clive burr
Paul era Maiden is THE best!!
xoxo The Clarences
This song was originally written and sung by Aussie band 'Skyhooks' back in the 70's.
This is a bloody good cover version.
Clive Burr R.I.P Amazing drummer
this one and killers are my two fave dianno irom maiden tunes
Sorry no contest-Shirl's voice just hammered this song.
02:25 Shout of the beast!!!
for me this is is more rock n roll than heavy metal
but Maiden forever are awesome!!!
UP THE IRONS!!!
LOVE THIS SONG!!!
up the irons!!!!!!!!! yeah!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The best of Iron Maiden
The original Iron Maiden
The Di'Anno Iron Maiden
The True Iron Maiden
Not original. But I agree that it is the best.
Aussie Tune from The Skyhooks. Maiden nail it.
Effin’ love this video! At 1:21 when Eddie turns to the girls, the timing is just perfect with the lyrics, and unintentionally hilarious! The way Eddie turns; the stifiness of his mask, and his hair swaying! Then, the close-up of his silly grim freezing at us is just bonkers! This is the kinda of cheese and awesomeness that only Maiden can give us! Up the effin’ Irons!!
40 years today! Up the Irons!
Di Anno and Clive energy is completely different! Though I prefer Adrian than Dennis... the Killers formation was the best ever!
You mean debut album rt because you brought up Dennis ...
Alan Miguel Puff- Killers is my favorite Iron Maiden album of all time.
Killers was the first album with Adrian. This was closer to the self titled era because that was the only album with Dennis
I think The Number of The Beast formation is better
I prefer Bruce Dickinson than both Paul Di Anno and Blaze Bayley. Especially Bayley.
Paol Dianno che grande....con lui album e brani più belli di tutti i tempi(x quello che riguarda iron maiden)
Happy Birthday Women in uniform. Thank's for the perfects moments with metal.
(soy Colombiano, perdonen mi ignorancia con el inglés)
Sometimes they look so cold, but ooh they feel so warm...
Big fan of the Skyhooks original. This rocks! The "Iron Maiden sound". First record I ever bought was "The Number of the Beast", the day it was released in 1982. Maiden all the way.
this makes sense!! I was oblivious of the fact that their used to be someone before Bruce.....36 years old and never knew.
OMFG ...thank god bruce completely re structure Iron maiden. He MADE iron Maiden!
incredible
this is more rock n roll that heavy metal
MAIDEN!!!
Iron Maiden yesterday:pure and true metal rock. Today its a machine money. Sad but true. Also Metalica.
No one screams like Paul.... Except Bruce :)
Bruce doesn't scream like Paul tho
Outstanding Cover!!!!!
One the best irons song ever. Greatness.
RIP Clive. A legand and inspiration to all drummers 🙏🎧✌️🤘🏴🇦🇺
CLASSIC Maiden!
No it isn't it's a cover ya flog!
You do realize that it's not justified to attack someone for liking a cover song that's *probably* better than the original.
It's crap..no where near as good as the original.
The song that got me into Iron Maiden.
I was more into punk at the time and this song completely blew me away.
Still does.
@Neil Hawkins .... I know.
