Iron Maiden ought to do a live version of this with both Bruce Dickinson and Blaze Bayley singing it together. And release it as a single. It will be awesome!
Yea, i still dont get the hatred for the poor fella hes such a great singer, i rlly love his voice the dude can sing. Sure he may not be bruce but he wanted to go solo, it was his choice and they picked blaze for that reason, they liked his voice and made him their singer for those albums.
It was for food. Now his band is one of the bests and has many good albums. The man who would not die is one that I hear almost every day and I can't get enough
There are different types of iron maiden fans, some like it when things change in the band and like the different eras, etc... but, you know, alot of people, when they like something ALOT, what they wat is just more of the "same thing".
Indeed. In fact there's only one single singer in the history of rock music that I rank higher than Bruce even though Bruce is my favourite- That is Ronnie James Dio :)
Dunno why Blaze gets so much hate. True, he's not as operatic as Dickinson, but he nailed it here! Kind of like Di'Anno's guttural sound and Dickinson's operatic style molded into one!
+Bill Day (Zintok5) Yep. There's a reason Steve chose him. I'm sure he could have chose somebody that was a Dickinson imitator and that's what most fans would have preferred, but that's Steve. He's always done it his way, no compromises. The big reason that he's one of my top musical heroes:)
I think the biggest difference for me in the Blaze years was that Adrian was gone. The songwriting just ain't the same without him. They had some good ones though. I just saw the acoustic version of Blood Brothers with Blaze and holy shit it's good. Blaze would have been ridiculous on that album.
Who? Steve Harris. I agree with you. A lot of people can go ahead and call Steve an a--hole and say he's arrogant until the cows come home. But if it weren't for him being strict about what he wants out of Maiden, this band would not be as successful as they are. I know Paul Di'Anno used to call him "Sergeant Major Harris" because he was supposedly bossy. I have to admit that Steve is an awesome bass player. And an overall awesome guy in general. I checked out some of the stuff he did with that project of his, British Lion. Not too bad :D
Bill Day the reason he gets so much hate is because people compare him to Paul and Bruce which both have very unique sounds that work with the band so when people keep comparing him they don't enjoy the songs he did good with
"I lost my job. Actually I didn't lose it. It lost me. I'm overeducated, underskilled-Maybe it's the other way around. I forget-but I'm obsolete. I'm not economically viable. I can't even support my own kid."
Bruce will always be THE Iron Maiden singer, but blaze co-wrote this and Paul Dianno co-wrote remember tomorrow, these guys don’t get enough credit for their years in the band
wkr64691 THAT comment I completely agree with, to be perfectly honest I think Di'Anno gets tremendous credit for his time in Maiden but Blaze never does, although I think he made a giant impact to their music, and so many masterpieces were written and performed during his era, and I for one just love his albums in the Maiden !!!
I would say Di'Anno gets tremendous love for songs like Wrathchild, Killers, Remember Tomorrow, Sanctuary Iron Maiden and quite a few others.. Blaze sadly gets maybe a few songs like Clansman.. Futureal, Sign of the Cross and Blood on the World's hands.. I could be wrong of course, but those are the ones I think of when I think of great songs by those singers. Both singers are Phenomenal and have had amazing contributions to Iron Maiden. I'm greatful for both. Nothing but the best to both.
Blaze is a master ! He helped Maiden to improve their style ! Since those two albums, the formule starting the song slow and then punchy come from Blaze era. In my opinion no one can sound better than Blaze when it is about singing all the songs from the X factor. Respect to Blaze !

It took some time (years), but when The X Factor clicked on me, it was amazing. The fast songs, I always loved, but the slower ones, never caught my attention, until one day, when I decide to sit through the whole album in one play. Then I started to obsessively listen to the album, any chance I got in my routine. Great album, underrated for sure.

Excellent album, excellent front man and the only living person that could really have replaced Bruce since Paul had burned so many bridges with the group. Much respect to Blaze, up the Irons!
"Falling Down" is a masterpiece and how society treats us the older we get. That and They Live are really truly masterpieces of how bad society forces us to live today. That said, I agree with both movies on how just unjust society really is for most of us that don't belong to the upper elites. The song is pretty good too. Underrated album.
Blaze took up a difficult mantle. He's a great singer and I remember getting this album and thinking "Wow, they didn't get a Bruce-alike. They did something rather original; kind of like when Paul was replaced". This is one of my fav songs on this album.
Not really a fan of this kind of music but I do like this song. The song is just as good as the movie that inspired it so I would suggest if you like the song check out the movie...... And yes the movies called falling down.

Just met Blaze two days ago, incredible person and so down to earth. Put on an unbelievable show and sounds better than ever. If you’re a huge fan of X Factor and Virtual 11, PLEASE go catch him on his tour. He does a free meet greet and plays some amazing originals along with the beautifully dark songs he did with Maiden 💪
I've been to see him twice now. Such an amazing singer and person. The venues he plays at are usually small, but he gives it his all every time. He even came up to me to shake my hand and thank me for coming as I arrived to the venue, like I was the important one there. Had a nice chat with the man at meet and greet as well. Talk about appreciating the fans.
I hated when Bruce left but Blaze in my humble opinion has a great voice and this is my favorite from that time. When the number of the beast came out I was insane for Maiden and didn't know about Paul until I went to Tower Records to buy the albumn and found their first two albums and was not disappointed. Confused and not knowing what I'm doing or where I was going, why things was happening like they were. 22 now. A briefcase, a lunch, and a man on the edge...........that line is stuck in my brain forever.
I wish Iron Maiden could make more songs like this, short and speedy
I agree. Now as they' ve aged, we cannot await an energy like this...but it would be great.
Yeah. All the songs now are way too long
I agree but their last album still kicked ass!
Not gonna find it on the newer albums bud
