Dianno was mostly known as (in his prime here) a showman, frontman, and commanding of the stage. His voice was very good, but not Halford or Dio-ish. Years later he would really fall though which is a total shame...

He has, of course, tons of character in his voice and it's also a pretty big voice. He's in tune. But he's not very technical. His vibrato sounds a bit artificial/forced but it's still on point so to speak. It doesn't seem like he lets his voice resonate optimally. On his solo stuff from 86-87 he sings more professionally. But I think the "total package" from 80-81 beats it.

This song and lineup are still the pinnacle of Maiden IMHO but hey I'm old and what do I know,,,,lol,,,I remember picking up Killers at Sam's the Record Man on Yonge St in Toronto when it first came out, and I couldn't believe my ears. Its one reason why my ears still ring to this day.

Paul Di'Anno was just flawless during this - those opening screams put you in awe. The guy had all the talent and makings to be that "next Bon Scott" (frontman/showman), but it never came to be for Paul. He slowly disintegrated, was replaced, and just was never the same guy. Still love and respect him to this day.

@@mustardnbiscuits5338 I'm just gonna say it. Steve Harris and I know he's a nice guy, but man he really screwed over Paul. Yeah I get the guy was having coke issues and was being unpredictable but still, you should've let him continue to have the royalties for the first two albums.

Wratchchild is one of my all time favorite Maiden songs and they absolutely nail it on this video. love the whole concert video but wished they would remaster the complete live performance of that night. They were absolutely on fire.
