Describing Iron Maiden is like trying to describe the band RUSH. They are the best at what they do and they have raised the bar so high that most aspiring musicians will forever be reaching for that bar. People call RUSH progressive rock or whatever but its not. RUSH is just RUSH and no one else even comes close. Same with Maiden. They are master storytellers that just happen to be proficient as hell on whatever instrument it is they play and they have created a style all their own. Three badass guitar players that vary in style. A bass player like Geddy Lee in that he writes and plays the bass in his very own style. And as for Nicko Mcbrain? A drummer that you can pick out in the first couple notes of a song. I've seen Iron Maiden 8 times and I can't wait for the 9th.
Rush were progressive but evolved beyond that on their musical journey. Very Happy memories of meeting Rush on the signals and R30 tours and fortunate enough to also meet Maiden at the now defunct Mayfair ballrooms in Newcastle upon Tyne after seeing their somewhere in time tour at the city hall. Absolute gentlemen and Steve Harrris got the beers in. Absolute legend. So a big smile on my face everytime I hear songs off this album.
This is Maiden n a funk & rock mode & they hit it right on the mark. The riff is so haunting & Nikko is keeping everything n time. Yep this is definitely n their top 5 songs
Somewhere In Time is a top 3 Maiden record for me. Everything up to Fear of the Dark is pretty much absolutely classic in every sense. Alexander The Great off this album is just off the scale completely. Masterpiece.

Ah, a nice piece of classic '86 Maiden. They were the days, of course you have to be at least 40 to really appreciate the era, and say 'I was there'!😃😊👍. Up the Irons
It's as if bands don't even sit down with the producers and engineers to create a sound for each instrument and make them come together these days. It feels like there's now a golden standard for how a heavy metal album is supposed to sound, and everybody uses the same "template" for everything. Definitely not as much variety between different bands' sounds these days.

As a fan of both RUSH and Maiden, definitely voiced more in RUSH, I wholeheartedly agree with you on this one.
Whole heartedly agree with you on the Maiden part. As for the Rush part, you heard King Crimson?
Somewhere in time and 7th son are my two fav Maiden albums, and that is much credit to Adrian Smith. They never get old and still sound fresh.
Cool, amazing, good!!!!!
This is one of the best metal songs ever!!
Starting at 3.20… what an amazing guitar solo.. goos bumps all over every time…
This is Maiden n a funk & rock mode & they hit it right on the mark. The riff is so haunting & Nikko is keeping everything n time. Yep this is definitely n their top 5 songs
With a voice like that, any phrase can become a song 🎤
El solo de Adrián es magnífico, con fuerza, pero con delicadeza
I LOVE IRON MAIDEN!
BEST BAND EVER!!!
Somewhere in time= My favourite album of Iron Maiden.
Somewhere In Time is a top 3 Maiden record for me. Everything up to Fear of the Dark is pretty much absolutely classic in every sense. Alexander The Great off this album is just off the scale completely. Masterpiece.
getting ready for new tour - up the irons !
3:20 - 4:25 That minute gives me the chills every FUCKING time...UP THE IRONS!
Que clássico!!!! Meu Deus que perfeição no solo dessa música!!! Simplesmente espetacular!!!
This song 🎵 gives me freaking chills 😍 ...one of my favorite maiden songs ever !! ...up the irons!! 🎸

Ive seen them 2 times now....88' and 2013....they played the exact same songs they did in 88....if they come to indy again...ill be there
A very underrated maiden song! I love the science fiction theme of somewhere in time! This song almost turned into space rock! Fucking love it!
underrated? this is a classic masterpiece! 😈
IRON MAIDEN ROCK GODS,LEGENDS👌🎸🤘🤘🤘
Everything was kicking butt on this one...groovy heavy bassline, sick riff, Bruce's vocals, up tempo drum beat and man that solo.
That solo will cure the Covid-19
soloS, don't forget the bass
I saw iron maiden on the somewhere in time and at the live concert for live after death album at long beach arena as well on the powerslave tour.
@khaːɔskampf thnx man, maiden is my favorite band growing up as a kid one reason I became a guitarist and love playing maiden songs on my own. Up the Irons.
Fuck yeah
Oh yes that deadly disease that you have to be tested for to know you even have it.Please don't insult a great Iron maiden song/solo with by associating it with the biggest scam the world has ever known. Btw any of you fools who have taken the kill gates vax - Au Revoir! To those who haven't and who still have a critical thinking brain we will win this war of terror
love the groove Nicko and Steve have on this one. Adrian's guitar solos are always epic and tasteful. UP THE IRONS!
Always been a big fan of Iron Maiden since 1988 !!!! Killer solos, lyrics, epic albums etc Iron Maiden forever 💯 Sending my salaam from Brunei 🇧🇳
Aleykum salam
Iron maiden is iconic 🎸
What a solo from Adrian
One of Adrian's best guitar solo's in my view. still sends me in goosebumps everytime.
It's a damn good song...one of their very best! Great call on the solo!
Ah, a nice piece of classic '86 Maiden. They were the days, of course you have to be at least 40 to really appreciate the era, and say 'I was there'!😃😊👍. Up the Irons
Thank you Maiden!
One of the best songs of all time.
My favourite maiden song
I wish post 2000 Maiden albums sounded like this (production wise)... What a difference
Sounds so fresh after all these decades
It's as if bands don't even sit down with the producers and engineers to create a sound for each instrument and make them come together these days. It feels like there's now a golden standard for how a heavy metal album is supposed to sound, and everybody uses the same "template" for everything. Definitely not as much variety between different bands' sounds these days.
This is the most true comment ive ever seen
armando salazar I must say, I agree with you on that one !!
Totally agree, I don't know why they don't get someone else then Kevin Shirley
God damn these guys are good. It's unreal how a band can be this good. \m/
Greatest range. Greatest band in the galaxy. You find Maiden all over the map.
It’s that riff once the chorus begins combined with the way he sings wow
