i got to see maiden only once....on my 16th bday july 14 1980 long beach arena.they were the opening band for UFO.....my ears havent stopped ringing yet.now 60....i was indoctinated that night into a lifelong brotherhood....paul dianno and clive burr...RIP these guys taught bands like metallica...john denver just didnt do it for me after that experience....if your earwax doesnt melt and runout....you dont have it loud enough.....need to listen on an old analog stereo

The first 2 albums were such an integral part of my childhood and teenage years. These guys set the bar pretty high for all to come after... God bless you Paul! You're in a better place than anyone could possibly imagine.

I was 18 already into 70's classic rock bands and then along came Maiden and the NWOBHM scene and it felt like we had our own scene and movement and was a part of something special which ultimately it was influencing and spawning so much afterwards. Man I love there first 2 albums the most. My favorite is there debut album Iron Maiden. Paul Di'anno was my favorite front man. I recently found a copy of Maiden in Japan on the Killers tour with Paul and the boys it's awesome. 17 tracks of pure metal.

My first taste of Maiden was Number of the Beast. My favorite album by far is Piece of Mind. I definitely prefer Bruce and Nikko. That being said, the first two albums with Paul and Clive were so damn edgy. Beautiful stuff.
I've always loved Paul and Maiden era with him, although a short one. I just feel he had such a hard life and I always felt sorry for him and wished him well. I hope he is in peace and that he can see and feel the outpouring of love. Also, his voice. Pure magic. It's like drugs to my ears. Very addictive.
Bruce is the face of Maiden I realize that. But what Bruce Dickinson brings to the fold with his training, Paul Di'anno brought soul to this band. I loved listening to this song when I was two years old and I love it now. And I know it's because of the singer feeling the music.. RIP Paul. The heart and soul Of Iron Maiden .

Paul doesn’t have the stage presence Bruce has, but his voice is way stronger, especially live. Clive’s drumming fits the band better too. Nicko is great and all, Clive just plays heavier. RIP Clive and Paul. Maiden’s golden era.

Saw them on this tour opening for Judas Priest at the Capital Center. Incredible show, both bands sounded fantastic that night. Great memories!

Paul doesn’t have the stage presence Bruce has, but his voice is way stronger, especially live. Clive’s drumming fits the band better too. Nicko is great and all, Clive just plays heavier. RIP Clive and Paul. Maiden’s golden era.
