    ✨ Between Ranger and Jacquard Piñata, my MUCH preferred ink now is Piñata! It is more concentrated, more vibrant, more lightfast AND less expensive! It is easily thinned and blended for endless colors. If you watch later alcohol ink videos of mine you’ll see that I use a new NON-TOXIC alcohol ink brand called Kielty Ink even more. They are low in odor, more lightfast, and more concentrated. I hope you’ll have a chance to learn about them.✨
    Piñata alcohol ink info : www.jacquardproducts.com/pina...
    Piñata alcohol ink "Exciter Pack" of 9 colors: amzn.to/2hS8x81
    Ranger's alcohol ink color chart: rangerink.com/?product=tim-hol...

    Tim Holtz/Adirondack alcohol ink set "Nature Walk": amzn.to/2zpQ1v3
    The price of isopropyl alcohol (also called "rubbing alcohol") is exorbitant online ... I was unable to find a reasonably priced listing to add for you here.
    Ceramic tile prices were equally, or more, "just wrong" online ... $15 for 10 4x4 inch tiles?!? There should hopefully be no need to pay that. Home improvement stores, some hardware stores, tile shops, recycle/reuse shops, and more, carry them for much less.
    If you'd like to seal your alcohol ink paintings, I use a museum quality spray by Krylon. Unlike most spray varnishes and acrylic sprays, it will not react in any way with the alcohol inks ... so, even the most tiny details will remain crisp and unchanged when sprayed.
    Here is a link: amzn.to/2jGh3KO
    I hope this was of help in getting you started.
    Thank you in advance for watching the videos, sharing them, commenting and leaving a thumbs up. Your kindness helps my channel continue and it is all greatly appreciated! May the alcohol inks, resin, and paints be kind, and may the pours be with you. 😊💕

    Myriam, I hope an art school, high school or college/university has the honour of having you on staff because you are one of the best teachers I have ever seen. Your pace, tone, content, humour, knowledge all promote learning in students of all levels, even someone like me who had never attempted making art until I hit my 70s. Thank you for your generosity in sharing what you know with us.

    These starter videos are ULTRA helpful, Thank You!
    Only thing I'll add is I'm confused as to why a youtuber such as yourself would think ANY material (in this case the inks) did not have literally thousands upon thousands of amazing options to use. Honestly the .000001% of options shown are pretty underwhelmingly bland LOL.
    I'm anxious to find the videos of you using some cool stuff. Anyway, Thanks!

    Hi Myriam with a “Y” (I love calling you that). I have just commenced my alcohol ink journey and I have watched thousands of videos on this subject. This is THE MOST comprehensive video I have watched. I really look foward to your tutorials going forward. I hope that you will tutor both the abstract and painting styes. I look forward to your next video. Xx

I will make both abstract and realism videos whenever I can! I'm glad the "y" makes you happy... I kinda love it too!!! 😃💕😘 Thank you soooo much Debra!

    Super! Love your teaching style. Have you tried to make the blending solution with glycerin and alcohol? Also, have you tried 99% alcohol? If so, any noticeable differences or advantages? I'm still mucking around with acrylic pouring but see alcohol ink in my future. :-) Thanks!

    • @MyriamsNature
      @MyriamsNature  6 лет назад +1

      Hi Marie! I have tried the glycerin and alcohol DIY solution a lot... It is no better than straight alcohol. There are many "recipes" out there with varying amounts of glycerin added... Sadly none are substitutes for genuine blending solution. The glycerin does nothing but slow the drying time of the alcohol a tiny bit but doesn't maintain the sheen and binding properties that the "real" stuff does. Is that important, often not but it does mean that if you use alcohol only (which I definitely do sometimes to save money!) you absolutely HAVE to seal your piece because the ink will EASILY rub off. Real blending solution keeps that from happening because it has binders built in.
      I have not tried 99% but know many who have... they report virtually identical results as 91%. I hope that helps. 😊
      Thank you for your sweet comment! 💕

    • @debraryan5744
      @debraryan5744 6 лет назад +1

      Marie caire I believe 91% dries slightly slower than 99% (I am not an expert but it was discussed on a group that I follow). You can mix your own by using 10 parts alcolhol to 1 part distilled water. 😊. I mix up small batches at a time. I haven’t done a comparison but I think I might compare the two. Thanks for your tips too. It’s a great medium.
