@@americangirldollcarlysdoll631 Hi there. Here is a video on how to navigate through my channel and how to locate the description box. I hope it helps - ruclips.net/video/EyFnCRbBItA/видео.htmlsi=M6xEQSGg8vsg3L1d
Loved your tutorial...I have a intimate business party coming up and the girls want to do an easy quick, fun painting class, so I may try this...I don't have the black blower, but I'm going to see how easy it can be blown with just a straw...so.... we'll see if that works😊...thank you!
That would be a fun thing to do with friends but blowing through a straw and make you feel sick as you are directly inhaling the alcohol fumes. You may end up with a bad headache. Also, the moisture from your breath does not work well with ai. Maybe you can find the hand blowers cheap on Amazon. Order a couple and take turns.
Hello! I just came across your beautiful tutorials and am in awe of your work. On this particular video, you show an alcohol ink tile that you are about to clean off to paint another flower. I LOVE the red, white and blue tile with the acrylic paint center!! It reminds me of a 4th of July fireworks show. Do you have a tutorial on how you did this one? I really would like to try my hand at this one, also. Thanks and thank you for all you do to help your followers!
So glad you found me and are enjoying my tutorials! The red, white and blue one was created using the same technique and then I sprayed a bit of alcohol over it to get that textured splatter look. I hope this helps. Let me know if you have any questions.😊
Thanks!
You're welcome 😊 and thank you so much.
Gracias por compartir, soy nueva en esto y creo ke servirá muy bien. Gracias
Muchas gracias 😊
The alcohol inks I have are from us and little glass large amount of alcohol let it sit for a moment and then start blowing it out and you can say that I can make my petals wider by changing the angle of the airport. This is something I've been thinking about trying for quite some time I've seen so much beautiful photos of alcohol inks like JoJo's are she does a lot. And thank you for sharing this video it is very good for beginners.😉🤩❤❤❤
I'm so glad you enjoyed the video and found it helpful
Well mine doesn’t look a bit like yours but I’m still pleased with it and practice makes perfect! Thanks
Without a doubt!
Thank you so much for this video, it was very helpful and informative! Like you said, most of us new to the medium do not have a compressor, so this is what we need to see. Can you explain the difference between the UV protections. I bought gloss finish, not the matte, can I still use it? 😳
I'm so glad you found it helpful. You can use either matte or gloss. The only difference will be the finish. I prefer the matte finished myself. It still has a little shine, but not as much as the gloss. Thank you so much for watching 😊
Love these flowers that you do, you usually use a air brush, came I ask if it’s the small portable one. I’m going to keep following you
Thank you! Master Airbrush and compressor kit - amzn.to/2sMjGjq. That's the one I use.
Absolutely beautiful! I have a live edge wood slab, can you use this technique on that? Should I put a layer of resin on first? Can you immediately coat again with resin after completed? Also is there a way to create cell activity within that?
Thank you. Ink is transparent unless you use blanco blanco or snow cap with it. I've never worked on wood with ink, however, I imagine that resin would seal the wood. I would practice on scrap wood first to be sure what works best.
Hello Vivvo, can you please shoot how too seal etc then varnish? Thank you
Good idea, as I am often asked.
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Thank you! 😁
So interesting. Could these tiles be used in the kitchen. For instance as a border around countertops. And what kind of sealant would you use? Thanks.
I've seen it done in videos, but don't think it's something I would do as I don't know how you would seal them so to avoid fading or scratches. My fear would be that if it gets ruined, how would you remove it?
This is so awesome I so want to try this. Do you show how to do it on paper too? Just beautiful!
Thank you 😊. You would do the same to do it on photo paper.
love the christmas tree card!!! WHERE can I get the little white cardboard frames please? All the ones on amazon are 4x6 and my cards have a limit of 5.5 inches because all the card stock is 8.5" x 11" so that is 4 1/4 x 5 1/2 .... I a little confuzzled about how big your cards are. can you help me?
Thank you! Take a look in the description box of any video I used them in and you'll find the link which will tell you the size.
Thank you Jeanette. This was very helpful. If I ever get to the point where I have a tile piece I want to keep, using these “hardware store” tiles, where do you find resin molds that fit the tile? My tiles are 4 3/8” and don’t fit in a 4” mold.
I resin right over the tile and then have mounted them on wood. I've not used frames for them. With an odd size, that may be an option for you as well.
@@VivoVintageDesigns great idea. Thank you!
I just found your RUclips channel and I really enjoy your videos. Very informative and love your artwork. I'm thinking about using the alcohol inks on tile to make house numbers. If I seal the tiles properly can I install them outside? Will the sun fade the inks? Thanks so much for the inspiration!!
I'm glad you found me and thank you. More than likely they will fade from the sun over time despite sealing them properly.
@@VivoVintageDesigns Thank you so much. I'll probably find an alternative for the house numbers (mosaics?) look forward to trying new things with the inks.
I think I would like to keep the stuff on the sides just like a balloon see that flowing over the sides high like that look.
It's your painting...you can keep it any way you like 😊
Can you apply resin immediately over the dried ink or do you need a varnish in between first.?
You need varnish and uv protection first
Thanks for the tutorial. If I want to put alcohol ink into a liquid, what liquid can I use? Will water work or do I need to use blender solution?
Alcohol ink is activated with alcohol or blending solution. I seldom use blending solution myself. Water will not work.
I loved this video. Where do I go to find out the paints and tools that you used?
Thank you! Just below the video you'll find the description box...where the title to the video is. Click on it and it should expand to show the links to the products used.
Does the tile need to be unglazed or glazed? Love your tutorials!
Thank you 😊. The tile should be glazes so the ink flows. An unglzed tile will absorb the ink.
This was a very informative video, thank you...may I just ask tho, other alcohol tutorials recommend the use of respirators while using the inks, I don't believe you did....is that safe to not wear one ?
Thank you. I'm glad you found the video informative. I do not wear a respirator. I only work with ai for no longer than 30 minutes, perhaps once a week. I have an open window with a fan, pulling the air out of the room and one pushing air towards the window. I also have an open door and an air purifier. These are the precautions I've chosen to take. Wearing a respirator makes it difficult to understand what I'm saying while taping. Research and take whatever precautions you feel work best for you. When I first started using ai, I was unaware and would work in a small room without ptoper ventilation and would get headaches. I quickly remedied that and haven't had an issue since.
What UV protector do you use and what resin? Love this flower - great tutorial Jeanette!
Thank you. I use kamar by krylon uv protection and I like Art Resin best.
Thank-you - can't wait to get started@@VivoVintageDesigns
Peut-on exécuter cette méthode sur de la soie
merci🎉 pour une débutante comme moi c'est très facile
You're welcome. I've never tried using silk, but I've seen that many do, and it looks beautiful. I wish I could be of more help.
If you use it as a coaster....would you use the varnish as well as the resin, or just the resin?
I seal all ai with kamar varnish and uv protection and then resin. You need to seal the ink with the varnish so the resin won't reactivate the ink and you need the uv protection so the ink won't fade over time.
@@VivoVintageDesigns OHhhhhh! That totally makes sense now Thank you
I see you have both 91 and 99% alcohol listed. Is there a specific time to use each? Thank you.
I like to use 99 bc I find it dries faster. If I can't find 99 then I'll get 91. Either is fine.
can you show Wat beginner kit of alcohol inks Are they basically the same
It's linked in the description box below the video. If you don't see the list, click on " show more" or the arrow pointing down. Sorry, I can't copy snd paste if from my cell.
What do you use to Seal it if you are actually putting it in a shower? Please and thank you.
I've only used them for display or as coasters. To be honest, I don't think ot would be a good idea to use them in a shower.
Can you use acrylic paint to dot the center?
Yes! I've used acrylic paint for my centers often 😊
You can also purchase frames for them and attach a hanger on the back and hang them up.
Yes, there are many options for displaying them. They look great mounted in a frame.
What is snow cap. Where do I find it. It wasn’t on your list
Snow cap is a mixative made by Ranger. It has a thicker consistency that the regular inks.
Hi!! Did you say that there is a supply list??
Yes. Just below the video, you'll see the start of a sentence and at the end of it, you see "more", click on it. Then it will begin to expand and you may have to click on the word "more" again for it to fully expand. You'll find the list and links there. They don't make it easy 🤨
Do you have to use the uv resin
You have to seal it with kamar varnish and then the kamar uv protection. Then you can use any resin of your choice. The kamar uv protection should be enough.
My alcohol ink spreads quicker than what I use, should I buy the brand you have?
I meant mine spreads faster that yours.
@@susanrettig6114 don't know which brand you're using. It could be the brand, too much alcohol, not working fast enough, not enough air pressure...it could be a number of things. I really like ranger and pinata inks best. Buy a small pack of either of those inks and see if that's the issue. If not, go down the list.
Also, I've been using a garbage bag to catch the overflow ink but it gets messy, I want something like yours to absorb it. All I can think of are dog pee pads maybe or for babies? But I bet that is expensive. What do you use? Or did I miss it in the links? I looked
I use my dogs wee wee pads. They work really well and absorb the excess ink without seeping through or making a mess. They aren't expensive and you can continue to use the same one over and over.
@@VivoVintageDesigns I don't have a dog but I'm ordering wees-wees tonight! Thank you! Also, I have had a breakthrough in petal production, it was ALL how I was holding my Ranger "puffer". I was puffing it by holding it against my palm and only using my fingers, so it would turn sharply to the left, each time I puffed it....all I would get is those dreaded "fingers". But then I watched super closely how you did it: perpendicular & thumb on one side, fingers on the other and you keep it straight generally unless the petal is getting too skinny. I still don't make them as well as you do but I can forgive myself that, since it's only my 4th day of trying. sooo....anyway thanks again Your videos are invaluable.
I'm so glad you had a breakthrough! You just have to keep at it and try different things...and ask questions. I'm thrilled that my videos have been helpful. Now you have yo join my Facebook group (Vivo Vintage Designs tutorials) so you can start sharing your paintings with me.
How do you finish the side edgesof the tile?
With Posca paint pens
Can u do it on glass????
I've never tried
Hello, what kind of ink you put
I use ranger or piñata.
What about the sides? What do you do with them?
I use posca pens to paint the sides of the tile. You can also use acrylic paint and a small brush if you don't have posca pens.
Same as on the back? By the way this is so pretty the colors you do an awesome job!
@@cindycowdin7047 If you're going to use them as coasters, you can adhere some felt to the back. Otherwise you can just leave the back as it is or you can paint it and put it on an easel or frame it
Can you just put Artesia over the tile instead of coating then resin?
I don't know what that is.
Sorry I should have have read my text before sending it, I apologize. I was asking if once the ink paint dries, can I then just add resin, art resin is the type I use or do you have to seal it with something else before adding art resin? Thank you for taking time to have read my text before sending it, I apologize. I was asking if once the ink paint dries, can I then just add resin, art resin is the type I use or do you have to seal it with something else before adding art resin? @Margie Durham I too use ArtResin, however, I seal alcohol ink paintings before adding resin so that it doesn't fade over time. I use kamar varnish and the kamar uv protection.
where can i buy them
Where can you buy tile?
no the ink. i am sorry i didnt say it wright@@VivoVintageDesigns
@@user-nk9ih4ln9m lol...no problem. Here is a link for the set I first started with - Jacquard / Pinata Exciter pack ink - 9 assorted colors - amzn.to/3cbH6Ts
i can't get a decent petal to save my soul..... not sure what I'm doing wrong, but what a challenge.
It could be so many things...not enough alcohol, the angle you hold the airbrush (or bulb) or the psi you use.
@@VivoVintageDesigns I’m not good with the bulb so I’m getting an air brush and keep on practicing!
I could just use a white marker for the center…
Absolutely. It will look a little different but still pretty. I've done a few myself using posca pens
Ver noodlesmaie
?
Does anyone else have an issue with cloudy colors when they dry? Especially reds? I don't know what I'm doing wrong. Maybe because my alcohol is 91%?--I'm waiting for 99% in the mail
I've had that happen but I'm not sure why. I use 99% also.
I keep trying but it’s not looking anything like yours 🙄
Don't give up. It will come.
