Thank you, thank you, thank you, I've been all over youtube trying to find someone who showed how to make the wide petals. I've seen other artist do it but you're the only one that showed how to actually make them. Again thanks for sharing your art expertise. And thank your husband, he's a great cameraman.
OHHHH I Love ... Love... Love this video/tutorial... I watched this 4 months ago (see comment below)... at that time I was seriously considering going back on the road with my art... I paint silk scarves... but when I go to these weekend warriors like Art Shows... I know I need diversity.... and so one of my loves is painting on tiles... and I remembered this video... and I love the way you EXPLAIN that it takes practice... and that using two totally different tools can make an unique flower.... I asked God for a "Sign" about going out on the road again and You are the "Sign" ... (God-send). Thank you so much for taking the time to make these BEAUTIFUL tutorials.
You are the first to show and explain everything. This video has taught me more than 80 videos I have seen. It’s also great to see that you aren’t selling experience products in order to achieve this. LOVE IT. KEEP THE TUTORIALS COMING.
I'm always amazed at the ingenuity of the artists who find new techniques. To me, your technique gives so much more precision to flowers than the blobby circles that alcohol inks can produce. Not that they're not nice, but yours are fab. Kudos to your hubby for helping you get this out to us. I appreciate both your time & effort!
You are amazing! Thank you for sharing. I got so angry last night when trying to do a flower with a straw. I'm glad I found you so I can fix it tonight.
You're a good instructor. This is my 1st inker video. I've been curious about the medium for some time now & bcuz of this I think I'm ready to move forward. Very cool, thank you.
Thank you so much for this detailed lesson on how to blow out the flower petals.... I was going to throw it all in as I can't get it right!! This has helped me get the technique right now. Thank you x
Just found your video and I really enjoyed it. I've been trying to get a nice flower and have used a hairdryer, a straw, canned air, my breath, and an air brush with a compressor that has no regulator. So I really need to get a small one like yours. I hear Masters is good. Anyway thanks for sharing your talent on RUclips.
I have been trying different art forms to “find my passion” and I think I found it today watching your expertise. I love these flowers and want to thank you for leading me to a beautiful beginning ...my passion begins tomorrow!
I can not tell you how much I appreciate this vid, Thank you! For a year now I have wanted to obtain some alcohol inks finally I have all of the Ranger colors and an air brush...….Now to find a "Phat Straw"...…..LOL! You are most instructive, Laying down your color then slowly picking out each petal make all the sense in the world...….I'll be watching for more of your vids!❤
I found the Phat Straws in the supermarket, Shoprite in this case. They are in the paper plate, etc. section. They are designed to be used with smoothies. Dirt cheap, like $1.29 for 100 straws.
That was an incredible video...love that it was real time and I watched every second.! Never have seen alcohol ink flowers done, and yours are exquisite... Thank you for taking the time to do the video and share with all of us.
I love alcohol inks. You can't control them much but somehow they turn beautiful. It is practice on letting go and that is hard for artists. We have to control everything. These are so good.
absolutely love your flowers and your technique. Thank you. just tried it with the straw and I only had 99% alcohol. looks very pretty. will get the right material for the next one. thank you again.
Your intro song is one of my all time favorites! I hadn’t heard it in awhile! Oh, and I loved your video! I have one of those fat straws, I gave up on it. I’ll pull it out and try again with it.
I like everything about this video except the blue and the black colors. They remind me of dying weeds. However I really appreciate the different strategies of different techniques with dropping ink and alcohol onto the paper and I like how you clearly explain what you doing and why are you doing it. I have used similar strategies on ceramic tiles for coasters where it also works very well.
@@alcoholinker1218 I am into Film and Theatre... and an an Actress too... I was very impressed with the camera movement... "Bravo" It made it a joy to watch.
your work in beautiful, thank you for the video..but if you don't tell us what is in the boiler bottle, where to get the boiler bottle wit stirring or what kind of compressor you use, I am afraid that it is impossible to try this wonderful technique .
Thank you for taking the time to share. I enjoyed watching your technique. I must admit I had no idea where you were going with those first 2 drops of paint☺. I subscribed. And also thanks to your cameraman.
Christina Brown Thank you. I keep left over 91% & 99% alcohol in the boiler bottle for random use such as bubbles or diluting ink. It has a tint of ink cuz I accidentally dipped a brush in it 😆
This is gorgeous. I have been very frustrated with my flowers and I hope watching you do your magic will help me. I have searched but cannot find your website. With this beautiful art, I can't imagine you don't have one, do you?
WARNING... Since the last time I saw this (wonderful, Beautiful) video I got real sick.... Come to find out, it was because I was using a SPRAY Bottle with Alcohol... I was told after that only to use a dropper with the alcohol... I am a firm believer now... DO NOT USE A SPRAY BOTTLE WITH ALCOHOL I LOVE this video, Thank you for sharing this video
Oh no! So sorry to hear that. Yes I only use the small spray bottle for maybe a total of 4 squirts at the beginning and end. I used a dropper 99% of the time.
You can hear alcohol inkers open window and fan running. Good ventilation is paramount to safe alcohol artistry. If you have an respiratory or circulatory issue you should exercise caution. Being buzzed is your body’s warning system. Alcohol will not harm you in well ventilated circumstances
amphitheatre Thank you. I use Yupo paper from Amazon & Kirkland photo paper from Costco on line (only use the backside of photo paper as it is non porous) I use 91% & 99% isopropyl alcohol (prefer 99%) I use fat straws or an airbrush/air compressor to blow & blend the ink & alcohol. It is a Master Performance G22 Air Brushing System Kit with Master Airbrush Air Compressor Model TC-20T purchased from Amazon. I use Posca pens (from Amazon) & sharpie pens. I use droppers to drop the alcohol & a boiler bottle both purchased from Amazon. I use a variety of alcohol inks all except one from Amazon: Ranger inks Piñata ink Copic inks Pop poster marker refill ink (eBay) Art C inks Zig inks Break Reese inks
wow, just gorgeous. The more I see people using these inks the more tempted I am to give it a go. Just wondering, is it possible to paint a second or third layer on top of a background layer of inks without disturbing the layer beneath? Say you paint a hazy, dreamy bkgd, but then you want to make an actual image on top, such as a flower, or a portrait etc...is there any way to do that?
safi456 Thank you🤗 Any additional layer would disturb the inks & change the colors. You would have to seal the inks before you add any additional inks.
Great technique....love the flowers you do. They look awesome......when I watched for the second time I noticed that the edges of your petals seem to go more jagged than when you were using straw compared to when you used the air brush ....is that just because the ink in those petals may have been thicker or is that just from the straw ....? Great tutorial thanks for you time ..! 😁❤️
Yes your right. I think the ink was thicker. I can get some pretty smooth and light flowers with the straw too. It also depends on the brand of ink. I use 6 brands.
Thank you, thank you, thank you, I've been all over youtube trying to find someone who showed how to make the wide petals.
