      I'm tearing into my new maxx v2 after a week of solid bashing. My homemade ramp ended up tearing out the front and rear bulkhead scews out of the skid plates.
      It is simpler to work on, compared to an e-revo. It is also FAR more durable. I have not been afraid to break it, but it won't break, despite my best efforts. The esc does have a problem with overheating, though. I've got the parts on order to run 6s already. It isn't lacking on 4s by any means, but I'm going for grossly overpowered. It has a stronger drivetrain than the e-revo, once you upgrade the axle shafts.

    Good job, your inside audio was kinda shaky but still understandable. I think the other thing you left out was the maintenance factor. The MAXX 2.0 is far less complicated than the E-Revo, there are so many parts inside. It's still a great Truggie but easy of work goes to the MAXX 2.0.

    Nice ramp! But yeah it'll probably break under the x-maxx, even with the Maxx at higher speeds it might crack. Similar thing happened to me and I actually reinforced it, layered the ramp with one extra sheet of plywood, but between the two layers of plywood I actually put a layer of drywall tape with wood glue then screwed the plywood down countersinking the screws. I also reinforced the base in a few places and finally gave it several coats of oil based paint all over. It's bullet proof now! Heavy, but very sturdy.

    both are amazing rc's, if I had to choose between the two to bash... I would have to go with the Maxx V2, just because of the durability. I can jump it and not be afraid of the landing. With the erevo yes you can jump it but you have to be more skilled to land it correctly or it will definitely break due to it's weight and low ground clearance as you said. but running the erevo and seeing it sit is just thrilling. Great comparison and very informative.

    Great video on comparison with those trucks but if you're new to the hobby. I'd advise going with the Maxx V1 or V2. that truck is a lot easier to work on, however the Maxx v1 and V2 have a designer flaw. If you drive in water. You will have problems with internal parts seizing up, like your bearings near the rear and front diffs. can cause diff breakage as well. also adding 6S power to this truck can cause major issues as well. Some people will disagree but i've tried both trucks and i know from experience that 6S damages the diff case and chassis over small amounts of time for the Maxx V1 while the V2 takes the power a lot better. As far as the E-Revo, get some limited straps on the back with the aluminum brace added on back will help with major bashing, water does not really affect this truck as long as you blow it off. Water want set up eternally like the Maxx does. Maxx has bigger gaps near the diffs. Both trucks are really great but as for me, i'd say that the E-Revo is a better Racer than the Maxx V1 Or Maxx V2. I think Traxxas is thinking of getting rid of the E-Revo and this is why they made the Maxx like this for sells. A whole lot cheaper to make the Maxx than the E-Revo. I hope that this is not the case. Both are amazing but if you are new to this hobby, go with the Maxx. I personally still love the V1 better! The Maxx V1 will stomp the Maxx V2 any day of the week!

    • @rcreviews9894
      @rcreviews9894  2 года назад +1

      Good points there, the Maxx is definitely more user friendly when it comes to repairs, not to mention more durable overall, I’ve seen others upgrade the Maxx to 6s but to me the Maxx v1 and V2 have plenty of power stock! Honestly it’s kinda over kill lol, seems like they would be almost uncontrollable at 6s power, hopefully that’s not true about the E revo, discontinuing that truck would be a mistake to say the least! The E revo despite its flaws is a beast! A very unique Rc that handles so well on any terrain, that it’s flaws can easily be over looked, if your just running it with mild bashing nothing too extreme, you may never have any issues with the E revo, your right though, ramp jumping it like I did in this video is asking for trouble without some of the mods you mentioned and even then your gonna eventually break something! All Rc’s break, it’s just part of the hobby and nothing that I found yet is indestructible, with that being said, there’s really no wrong answer here, Maxx, E revo either way you can’t lose, your gonna get one hell of a experience with either one👍

The original actually took skill to drive at high speeds, lol it was like a untamed animal! It’s just such a unique Rc, the way it’s built and the way it looks and drives! Theres a lot of imitations out there now but only one real e revo! The 2.0 has come a long way with much needed upgrades and I hope Traxxas continues to improve upon the platform

      @@rcreviews9894 Well, a good start would be to use the Louise tires guide which is called " pick by car " in order to see what tires are suggested by them for the E-REVO specifically and since I believe that you live in the US you can match them with the relevant proline ones ( although I think that even proline must have a similar guide ). In my case finding a wide variety of proline tires in Greece is difficult so that is why I go with LOUISE. My weapon of choice is the LR-T3327BH, which are stadium truck tires that are narrower, lighter but with the same diameter as the monster truck tires. And keep in mind that I do not own an E-REVO and I usually run my truggy on gravel and I'm more than satisfied with them. I hope that I helped !!!

      Well the E revo is running on 6s and the Maxx v2 on a 4s brushless system both Traxxas electronics, which work well, you’ve just named off some heavy hitters there, all good trucks but run and handle differently, you already know what to expect from the E revo, seeing as how you own the original, there are some differences with the 2.0 but if you’ve watched my video then you know what they are, so as far as the Maxx v2, it’s a beast! Fast! Durable, wheelies for days, easy to control in the air off the ramp and easy to work on, it’s 569 plus tax and takes one 4s battery, the sledge is a good truck too, honestly I need to run it some more to really give you an accurate analysis of it but from what I know so far after running it maybe 3 times so far, is that its fast handles really well off-road and reminds me of the e revo by the way it handles, it’s 700 dollars and takes two 3s batteries! So with that being said ask your self how much are you willing to spend and what kind of driving do you plan on doing? Balls to the walls bashing? Go with the Maxx v2, moderate bashing with
      Better handling? Go with the e revo 2.0 or the sledge, hope this helps🤙

    I routinely ger 53 mph out of the new MAXX V2 with the stock setup and definitely feel there is a bit more speed left to be had. Traxxas did such a fantastic job with the Maxx. Just drives awesome in all conditions slow or fast just like a real truck. That is my major gripe about the Sledge is that is comoletely lacks any sort of refined driving capacities. The stock gearing in the Maxx is perfect. They got it right. Definitely not the Sledge. Way to loud and way to much surging and cogging. Definitely need to smooth things out with that vechile to get it to the Maxx level. The Xrt does some nice driving as well. Hopefully they will work those issues out. I had traded my Talion exb for a new Sledge and was so displeased with it I went back to the hobby shop and traded it back for the Talion. What an idiot I was. Bunch of lost money. Talion won't be traded again and the same with the v2 maxx. Both are my favorites.

More to come with that one as well🤙

    Erevo 2.0 is not good for bashing stock. Every time I ran the truck stock stuff was breaking like way too easy. The suspension is an issue. Every time you take off for a jump the shocks rebound quick and just pull off steering knuckle ends and even strip off the top treads of the shock. I’ve broken countless hubs, bent so many tie rods and just spent so much time wrenching that I got sick of the truck. I then modified the truck and beefed it up to take the abuse, put some straps that attach to the upper arms that keep the rebound from over rebounding and breaking shocks and stripping the steering links and tie rods. I upgraded the arms and the shocks and the arms and basically everything not electronic and now it bashes good. Stock I would say it’s really fast and handles well but doesn’t take abuse. My Xmaxx on the other hand I put through hell and it holds up great. But I also did a complete proline build on it but I just did it to make a sweet build, not because I needed to improve anything. I’m my 4 years of bashing xmaxxs I have only broken 1 bulkhead, 3 arms, and bent 5 or so shock shafts. The xmaxx in my opinion is the worlds best rc. The mini maxx is fun but I really never drive it, I let my buddies use it and never had an issue with it over the 1 year of ownership

    • @rcreviews9894
      @rcreviews9894  2 года назад +1

      Yeah I would have to somewhat agree with you, we did jump it off the ramp here in this video, nothing too crazy, a few backflips and we didn’t break anything, however I feel the E revo is not built for heavy bashing like the Maxx and Xmaxx, your right, the suspension along with the weight and size of the truck really put a strain on most of the components, the E revo has too much travel, which is a good thing when just running the truck over hills and off-road in general, it really soaks up those small jumps, but it’s when you start to get into those high jumps off ramps with a little more aggressive bashing is when you start to run into problems, the Maxx and Xmaxx are superior in this regard, way more durable in my opinion
