@Glenn Hensley Thank you much appreciated. I actually had the yellow on hold at my LHS but then I looked at the red online again and just had to have it. I'm glad my LHS had them in stock too.
Great video with both these trucks!! I really like the black & red body you got 🤩 I think the extra length is the best thing Traxxas could do with truck, now it's pretty much the same length as a 1/8 buggy 👍
My sledgehammer tires haven't lasted as near as long as I hoped. The foam is completely gone and balloon bad with 4s. I've had my Maxx V2 since January probably ran it 10times. I'm running Kaijus and just ordered some 6s backflips.
@theoerickson1762 Damn! I just started putting it in the description a few months back and this is an older vid. These are old ramps by Ten Eighty. I bought them from Toy's R Us maybe about ten or so years ago.
I did just get the V1 after Xmas. My local hobby shop had the last inventory for about $75 off the truck and a free widemaxx kit. I had had to jump on that deal.
I love how the triger is way at the top makes it feel like it has so much snort. Very durable the most durable same level as Mt410 and they are more than an xmaxx. Nobody ever says how completely smooth the truck is. It barely even makes any noise. Yes the kick up hate the my worst problem by far on my maxx
Great comparison. I went with the V2 Maxx. It's not that much more expensive than the V1 even when they discounted the V1 to $499. You get a lot more for around $65, including better tires, longer chassis, and such. It was a no brainer for me. I don't like the weak stock ESC so I replaced it with a Max 8 ESC from HW that bolts right up to the chassis. I also replaced the tires with Kaiju tires, since I think that Traxxas tires are not that durable. Stock motor and ESC are fine. I think I broke my Mac today while doing big jumps. I have a noise coming from the rear diff area or the spur gear after a bad landing. It sucks, but it happens. Thanks for the video 👍
I enjoyed seeing your video. Appreciate the way you drove. Didn't need to see another basher. I'm new and doing do diligence on the maxx and the sledge. Not looking to launch like a plane and destroy but want durable. Give me your thoughts please.
@Tim Diekman Thank you, appreciate the support. Not the two trucks I would suggest for someone new into the hobby. Would this be your first RC? Are you only looking at Traxxas? Are you open to other types of RC's, Short Course, 2WD Monster Trucks, smaller vehicles?
@MEDIAS-RC I saw those deals too, that price was insane. It may have been worth getting this instead. The old one is still a great truck but I think Traxxas may have gotten this right to where it can now be called a mini X-Maxx.
Great video! I honestly really don't see a difference in these runs. Only thing i noticed was the Og Maxx has a bit more punch of the line (stock gearing)
@Big Boy Toyz Rc Thank you, much appreciated! If you look closely at how the OG lands in the rear, it pops up. Look at the New Maxx on the same jump no pop up of the rear on landings.
I went widemaxx kit, steel drive shafts, 50 wt oil in front, 70 wt oil in the back, proline 3.8 hp belted tires and 20 tooth pinion gear in mine and it's a beast. Traxxas stock tires with that low profile inner and high profile outer design are trash.
@Tommy Penny Nice build I've see few guys going this route. I don't know about the stock tires. I think its' all about where you run. They are all terrain so they are not going to be good everywhere. They just happen to be good at the places I run😊
@Heat 305 rc Man you like me so I would say yes😆 But I feel if you tune up the v1 you could get it to perform better but I really feel the difference of the longer chassis and that helps on the landings. Still slaps but that rear kick up is almost gone.
I actually agree with everything you said the whole vid! Except for those damm stock tires on v1 terrible. Grass is a high bite suface in my 👀 and thats where l had most of my problem. Loose dirt they are pretty good on. I would like to see you put the regular arms back on vl with sledgehammer tires. I think the terrible shit flat profile on all there monster truck tires are garbage included the xmaxx. The mx 4.3 are twise as heavy but in my opinion far superior tire in every way especially breaking steering blocks 😆. But traction maneuverability. Probably faster out of the gate to because you can pin it pretty good and because of the weight front stays down somewhat. Good vid bro 🙂💪🤨👊
@RC SMITH Thanks man! Yeah I'm that odd ball 🤪 For some reason when I run the stockers on the grassy areas I run, best performance. I throw the badlands or the MX28's no so great. What I've noticed that back break out and even helps with the steering. I want to tune up the rear shocks and throw the Sledgehammers on next.
That weird that's were l had the most trouble with the shit old tires worst part of that truck l thought. I already have had the wide maxx and the sledgehammer tire. For about a year and a half now. I think in handling that looks the tires fixed it. And they must have re dampened the rear shocks at least cause it definitely lands more flat it seems. So lm going to build mine up body driveshaft battery strap. Already ordered my xmaxx wide kit as well straight from Traxxas. $212 cant wait. That truck will be the best 5th scale for another 4 or 5years. Wooooooooo!!!!!! T.I.T.T.S.
@RC SMITH I'm glad they finally released it like this. I waited over a year just to buy the first one. If I had just waited another year I would gotten the Maxx I wanted😆

👍👍👍👍👍
@appleslider Thank you👍
I agree the longer chassis made it more stable for sure love both styles myself 👍👍🎄💯💯
@Earl Moorhead I always thought that v1 was a nutball. Complete fun!

@@ReadySetRC Yeah me to! Maybe I wouldn't have sold my V1 🤣
I still like my v1 maxx with the wide maxx kit but I’m interested in the sledgehammer tires still a great truck no matter what version you have
@Joe Rc Garage Honestly can't go wrong with either with how tough these trucks are.

cool rc and bashing,great overview

Great comparison! You forgot the #1 reason the new Maxx is better -- that red body is 🔥! 🙂
@Razor RC Well that goes without saying😆 That red increases durability and speed by 10x🤣
I did just get the V1 after Xmas. My local hobby shop had the last inventory for about $75 off the truck and a free widemaxx kit. I had had to jump on that deal.

Who has the best deal on the new one looking for one thanks
@10k Rms I would suggest your local hobby store. Traxxas doesn't allow for deals or coupon codes on most of their stuff.
I’ve just got the new Max with a rebate of 100$ CAD with the wide kit include! And no taxes. Should have i got the new one?
