I hate to be that guy, but after owning both mt10 and the mt8, the mt10 isn't what's its cracked up to be. It has a dreaded secret nobody speaks of. The motor mount is made of cheese. It shifts and bends very easily. This causing premature failure on the spur gear. I and many people can't get a single pack through after the car ages 1-2 year. My mt8 on the hand, 2 years strong after a list of parts replaced to make it reliable.
@@cd-pu5uv There is no upgrade motor mount option at this time. Right now the trick is to not put too big of motor, not over gear it (the larger pinion puts the mount in a more weakened position) and put a touch of locktite on the facing surfaces of the mount plates. Even then, with the right nose landing, it will bend, shift and if not caught in time, destroy the spur.
Man this takes me back. I had an RC10GT with an OS .12 about...christ, 30 years ago! Thing was a blast, but it did break pretty much every time I drove it. Was surprised here lol

The MT8 is a heavy Truck. Of course parts will brake. The materials are not flexible enough. But the MT10 is almost indestructible once you added the RPM arms front and rear.
Mark rpm makes beefier arms for front and back and another thing is to swap out the adjustable upper arms with ones from the redcat kaiju I havent had this problem since I've switched 😊

MT8 is very good, but it is great after you change the arms for the Kaiju ones. The tires balloon too much for my taste, but some 4s backflips work out great.
I love how that MT8 performed in the parking lot. I love the cars that are wheelie monsters. 😂 But wow, that wasn’t even a hard landing and broke a rear arm. Oh I didn’t have to be sold on the Maxx 😂 I’ve always loved traxxas RC products. Great video, Mark 🤘🏼
My MT8 is one of my favorites. It just has this “chunky” (ha) feeling about it that is cool. But it’s not tough! At all. But parts are cheap and the Kaiju parts fix most weak areas. It’s just heavy for the size arms and knuckles etc they have on there.
Mt8 is cool looking truck. But mt10 is better reliable basher for TA line up. Maxx v2 is beast tho haven’t broken it yet. I can’t wait for new stampede bl-2s to come out! 😎

I would say of the 2 the Traxxas maxx is more durable and in my opinion, a lot more fun over the team associated MT 8. Now the MT 10. That thing you just cannot kill.
Great vid and definitely surprised how similarly they performed to one another. I also prefer the look of the associated but with all the associated models I’ve owned it has always played out the same and they just break easier for me than others. My mgt8.0 which I’ve always loved has went through countless arms and shock towers and even my most recent team ae the reflex 14b had a relatively slow flip and shattered the wing mount I just believe their plastics are more fragile and I’m only speaking for myself but for bashing I prefer traxxas and arrma, just ordered a maxx v2 and cannot wait to see what abuse it holds up to.
