I do automotive for a living and own the Hercules 20v impact driver (5a battery) and 1/2" High Torque (8a battery). The impact driver is obviously good enough for light work, and surprisingly strong for some medium nuts and bolts with 1/2" impact adapters/sockets. I use the High Torque for anything beyond that. Has been enough power for my needs. Very satisfied with their products and like the peace of mind knowing I can just do an exchange at the store if one breaks. I'm also fortunate to not live in a state with rusted vehicles And yes, their Mid Torque is pretty weak. I used it briefly before returning it. Hopefully they make a stronger compact 1/2" in the future
I will probably get the brushless Hercules impact driver soon to use on light stuff as well. I also live in a state where rust isn't a big issue. My reason for buying Hercules is the same as yours. Peace of mind of being close to harbor freight I also hope HF makes a strong mid torque because the current one sucks honestly. It couldn't even remove lug nuts at 140ft lbs
@@AnthonyTinkers a few days ago I decided to buy the Dewalt DCF891 Mid Torque with the 5a Powerstack battery, to go with the Hercules impact driver and 1/2 wrench. That one is for sure strong
Great Vid, I bought the gen 2 on the spring black friday for 150 and did the same deal you did got the battery packs for 100 bucks. I thought that it was a good deal as well. Excited about the 5 year warranty that it come with from day 1. I' debating on buying a second 8 amp battery pack and returning the charger and 5 amp battery since its at a discounted price basically buying the 8 amp battery for about 50 bucks
Thanks for the comment! I will probably get another 5ah soon. I also want to get the impact driver for light work. I am a tool nerd, I love all tools. Wish I could buy them all but I have to control myself
best thing is the 5 year warranty so if u ever exchange now itll be for the gen 2 i use the mid torque for breaks and other things where the ultra cant fit both work great.. just picked up the gen 2 1/2inch mid torque today.
Yeah and with what a good deal I got ($240 for tool, charger, and 2 batteries) it didn't seem worth it to me to get a DeWalt or Milwaukee Yes those brands have impacts that put out higher torque but usually the tool alone is more than I paid for my whole kit
Just FYI, if you need more torque, Hercules now has the cordless Ultra Impact Gun in a 3/4" shank; 1600 ft.lbs. of torque. Havent got one yet csuse they are always out, apparently they are selling so fast they cant keep'm in stock.
That exactly what I did the other day on my lady's car Before I would either have to use a breaker bar to break all the lugs Or run a long hose from Dad's air compressor with an old Ingersol Rand(I believe? impact that takes a few seconds per lug It's an old dinosaur probably not rated for much torque
The socket sets at harbor freight are great nothing wrong with them and guarantee for life
Absolutely!
HF has so many hidden gems
Just wanted to clarify:
If you dont include the socket set I paid roughly $240 for the impact, charger, 5.0 and 8.0 battery
Not bad at all

Yeah that's the big boy
That thing is crazy
I love my 1/2 ultra torque
I got it with the 12ah battery and it's a beast.
I rotated the tires on all 3 of my cars with it.

I was gonna get the same deal but i already have 2 chargers 😮
Put them on eBay for sale 😁
