- This is a basic review of the 1/2 Hercules Ultra Torque. Mainly to see how well it does at removing and fastening lug nuts in auto-mode. It's also a follow up to the review of the Hercules 3/8 Brushless Impact Wrench that failed to produce more than 130 ft lbs of breakaway force. • Hercules Brushless 3/8...
@denoftools who I initially learned about this tool from as well as the new 5 Year Warranty program. It drew me to the channel and sure enough the tool and warranty came out just as the Tool Bear had stated.

@TorqueTestChannel Thanks for your excellent review of these tools that shows how they match up against the competition.

@harborfreight Nicely done on this tool! Авто/Мото
140 foot pounds is a cake walk for this impact. It's been tested up to 1900 foot pounds. Way over the 1400 foot pound ratings. It's a beast
When you can, get the new 8AH battery for this, it has the newer high output 21700 cells over the 18 series cells of the regular Hercules batteries. It gives the gun a big boost in power and it hits much harder with the newer battery. :)
Nice one, congrats 👌👌
just got the ultra impact and a 8ah 21700 battery
cant wait to start using it
How do you like it?
@@mike_t_007 I love it after almost 5 months I have to say I do not regret the purchase at all
Nice 👍
Thanks
perfect!
Cool
That is like asking if a 10 pound sledge hammer is suitable for pushing in thumbtacks. Mine removed the 46mm front hub nut (torqued at 214 ft lbs) from my 750iL with ease even though it had been on there for close to 30 years.
😮😎👍🏾 that's what I love to hear. Congrats Bro! How did you like it?
Cool, what happened with the earthquake impact wrenches.? I gotta try this Hercules impact wrench.
2.5 amp battery is definitely hampering the effectiveness imo. But good review , thanks for showing!
Just picked up one for 180 with a additional 20% off employee discount
In the owner's manual on the Hercules, when fastening on auto mode it states......Mode 4 in forward, runs tool and shuts off
when torque is reached. Anyone have any idea how many ft lbs is considered "torque is reached"?
I got one these seem pretty good
I am sure everyone watching this video knows that there isn’t an impact gun that won’t loosen 140 foot pounds. Also just because the torque ratchet clicks at 140, what makes you think it didn’t go beyond that?
I agree the fact this Ultra Torque did that is meaningless. It did the job these 3/8 should have been able to. However, I'm soon to really test it with crank bolts and cat machinery this summer. I will post and show
My craftsman impact couldn't get my lug nuts off.
Good info. Question though... it retorqued to at LEAST 140 lbs in auto so how tight did it really torque to? Obviously not to full ability, but was it 140...200...more?
It easily torques to 200+ so have to be careful. Best to start them and finish with a torque wrench.
Damn on my 3/8 I need a small prybar to take off my sockets and I need to push them in using my weight against the floor
Interesting. If you look at the 3/8 review video, you'll notice it slipped out for me even while in use.

The 1/2 Ultra Torque isn't very hard to get the sockets on or off and they stay firmly in place during use!
@@dylansautoandmachinerepair3023 good God and u did that with the 2.5 amp hour battery 😱 I picked this setup up the other day with a 5 and the big mack daddy 12 amp hour batteries. I have the powaaaaa!!! Lol
Sweet. The 2.5 ah doesn't seem to diminish the tool too much, but undoubtedly is going to drop the torque some. Aren't the 12 ah kind of heavy?
Yes actually, rather heavy lol. Should be worth it tho I assume. The 5 did great on my old 3/4 ton ford's lug nuts I've always had to break with a big breaker bar 😅
This is a copy of Milwaukee's high torque, pick up lug nuts are a joke for this impact.
Why would you think a 2 or 2.5 ah battery would be sufficient for testing? Those sells are barely sufficient for diy use. Read the instructions please.
Because it's a starting test. I have an 8amphr now, but for this wrench you don't need an 8 to do lugs, only tougher tasks.
140 ftlbs is the low low end of any cordless 1/2 inch impact . This really proved nothing .. and I wouldn’t be so sure that lug nut was retorqued to 140 ftlbs .. all that shows is that it was at least 140 ftlbs . It could be well over that .. as I said, this is low end of that impact capability. I would use setting 1 to tighten then use the torque wrench to avoid over tightening .
I agree use setting 1 then follow with torque wrench
Just saying well over 140 but Amazon impacts can do that lol
Bauer tools are better
Milwaukee better than that
Bauers have brushed motors so definitely no
No they are not haha😂
is this a joke ? and get that battery off that thing 5amp hr min
First of all. what idiot would even consider a 3/8 impact to remove lug nuts? A 3/8 impact is designed for things like removing lawn mower blades or tight bolts and such. Not lug nuts. I have both of the Hercules Impacts. The Ultra Torque 1/2 inch, which I carry when pulling my trailer, Makes it real easy to swap out a spare wheel/tire when your on the road and get a flat on the trailer. I use the 3/8 inch for removing the nuts on the lawn mower blade or tightening blots when installing a bolt thru a 4 x 4 or 4 x 6 post and beam. I do not know of a 3/8 air impact that is the right tool to remove lug nuts.
My Milwaukee 3/8th m12 fuel can easily take off and tighten lug nuts for super duty’s.
What about 3/4 impact lol
