Hercules Brushless Ultra Torque 1/2 Impact Wrench. Suitable for quick lugnut removal and fastening?
This is a basic review of the 1/2 Hercules Ultra Torque. Mainly to see how well it does at removing and fastening lug nuts in auto-mode. It's also a follow up to the review of the Hercules 3/8 Brushless Impact Wrench that failed to produce more than 130 ft lbs of breakaway force. ruclips.net/video/mjvmykjqLnQ/видео.html
@denoftools who I initially learned about this tool from as well as the new 5 Year Warranty program. It drew me to the channel and sure enough the tool and warranty came out just as the Tool Bear had stated.

@TorqueTestChannel Thanks for your excellent review of these tools that shows how they match up against the competition.

    Why would you think a 2 or 2.5 ah battery would be sufficient for testing? Those sells are barely sufficient for diy use. Read the instructions please.

      Because it's a starting test. I have an 8amphr now, but for this wrench you don't need an 8 to do lugs, only tougher tasks.

      @nolimitfano2 that should be a vortec engine if I remember right diffrent way of timing

    • @dylanfinch6186
      @dylanfinch6186 6 месяцев назад

      @@adriantibbits6375it's not a Vortec engine. It's the last year of the TBI and they reengineered the firewall with the refresh of the interior.

      @@nolimitfano2 I don't know exactly where yours is. It should be in the passenger side of the engine bay somehere. Some people are saying it could be by the computer behind the glove box.

    Good info. Question though... it retorqued to at LEAST 140 lbs in auto so how tight did it really torque to? Obviously not to full ability, but was it 140...200...more?

    In the owner's manual on the Hercules, when fastening on auto mode it states......Mode 4 in forward, runs tool and shuts off when torque is reached. Anyone have any idea how many ft lbs is considered "torque is reached"?

    This method is theoretically good and correct, but practically in an engine like this after 30 years and more the markings on the poly are no longer accurate, therefore aiming at 0 degrees with the wire disconnected will not cause the engine to be correctly oriented.

  • @Brock-ot7wi
    @Brock-ot7wi Год назад

    Why would the fuel pump not run with advance wire disconnected and run with it connected. Another thing is what if one were to time one of these TBIs without unplugging the advance keeping in mind that the advance is about 20 degrees advanced when connected. So setting it to 0 and adding about 10 degrees by turning the distributor so total timing would be 30 degrees or so. How much total timing do these things like. The average for a sbc is around 32 to 34 degrees of total time at around 3200 3500 rpm but I ve read that these TBIs don't necessarily need that much total time due to the the fast burn swirl port heads. Any thoughts?

      Thank you. It took me a while to figure out what to do when I couldn't get that one out. Make sure to only torque the new one to around 11 ft lbs, it does not go on tight!
