When I hear people refer to the crap out today as genius, I get extremely annoyed. BUCKLEY was a special talent. No fear. Power. Melody. Gentleness. No words adequately describe. Why can’t we promote artists like this???
It's easier to make quick money writing a basic song with a clever line or two and a repeatable hook. It's always been that way. Masters of any craft are rarely understood except by those who practice the art, and their tastes for experimentation and challenging the consumer are inherently unpopular.
I'd never had any interest in rock until in 94/5 I listened to Grace on the radio in Germany. I rushed to the music store & my deep obsession with Jeff Buckley & guitar began. Thanks Jeff RIP.

I also realize that this will be one of the best musicians of the 90’s
When I hear people refer to the crap out today as genius, I get extremely annoyed. BUCKLEY was a special talent. No fear. Power. Melody. Gentleness. No words adequately describe. Why can’t we promote artists like this???
I was just thinking about this. Nothing out today comes close to this. It seems there’s hardly ever intricate songwriting in a song now
It's easier to make quick money writing a basic song with a clever line or two and a repeatable hook. It's always been that way. Masters of any craft are rarely understood except by those who practice the art, and their tastes for experimentation and challenging the consumer are inherently unpopular.
Please tell me that other people know about this man's father... Tim Buckley
He is just as enchanting, please have a listen
I'd never had any interest in rock until in 94/5 I listened to Grace on the radio in Germany. I rushed to the music store & my deep obsession with Jeff Buckley & guitar began. Thanks Jeff RIP.
It makes me so sad to listen to the beauty of this song and hear the lyrics somewhat predict his death.... gives me the shivers. I wish I could have seen him perform live, he's the most incredible musician and vocalist I've ever heard.
+Amy Goodwin Took the words right out of my mouth, I would have given anything to see him perform, he just has something about him, I wouldn't think it's possible to miss someone without knowing them but that's how I feel about him
yeoaura - I agree, when he'd sing a song, he was the song, and even though he's dead, his songs are still alive. I would've loved to hear him sing his songs in person... But sadly I wasn't even born before he died :(
so which are the lines where he states the future?
Amy Goodwin for me Jeff is up there with the best I have ever heard. Although totally different genres I have always thought of Jeff in the same way as Layne Staley. They didn't sing a song, they conveyed a story and not many artists have the ability to that. Grace is and will always be One the greatest albums ever made.
Amy Goodwin this song definitely isnt predicting his death
Happy birthday Jeff.
*Dream Brother*
There is a child sleeping near his twin
The pictures go wild in a rush of wind
That dark angel he is shuffling in
Watching over them with his black feather wings unfurled
The love you lost with her skin so fair
Is free with the wind in her butterscotch hair
Her green eyes blew goodbyes
With her head in her hands
and your kiss on the lips of another
Dream Brother with your tears scattered round the world.
Don't be like the one who made me so old
Don't be like the one who left behind his name
'Cause they're waiting for you like I waited for mine
And nobody ever came...
Don't be like the one who made me so old
Don't be like the one who left behind his name
'Cause they're waiting for you like I waited for mine
And nobody ever came...
Don't be like the one who made me so old
Don't be like the one who left behind his name
'Cause they're waiting for you like I waited for mine
Nobody ever came
Nobody ever...
I feel afraid and I call your name
I love your voice and your dance insane
I hear your words and I know your pain
With your head in your hands and her kiss on the lips of another
Your eyes to the ground and the world spinning round forever
Asleep in the sand with the ocean washing over
Asleep in the sand with the ocean washing over
Asleep in the sand with the ocean washing over
Ah do you meet the one I love
and smell the one who loves you
Dream brother, dream brother, dream, dream
dream asleep in the sand with the ocean washing over
@@nikamini6 Not quite. It's definitely spare and not smell/spear haha
Feeling his brothers grief and pain manifested.
@@ronaldpetrin5823 He was an only child.
@@JasonUmbrellabird no he wasn't. His mother had another son, Jeff's little brother, Corey Moorehead.
@@mave143 ok thanks.
this is one of my favourite live performances of all time
A real life angel ❤❤
Happy birthday, Jeff, I love you, brother from my dreams
I shiver so much when I watch this concert that I must put on a coat even if it's summer. Pure genius.
I am usually crying.
So much feelings man.
I don't know what to say, his voice is too good to be true,
Jeff Buckley was too much for this world.
I grew up in Memphis. The first time I heard Jeff was at local musician, Nick Redmond's apartment in Midtown Memphis. It was a block away from Jeff's North Rembert house. I'll always remember that night. It was like a scene out of a stoner coming of age movie. ...and this was the first song Nick played.
How he starts it, is amazing
This song was an ode to his Father...
This is what we should call music
the guy with badmotorfinger t shirt at 2:59! lovely 90's stuff
good catch!
That was a kickass album
Twenty years have You been in Heaven, Beloved Dream Brother. May 29th 2017. I hope to meet You soon. Until then, i have Your Music. Thank You.
I have never experienced a feeling like I get hearing his music, never in my life. Its like finding a missing puzzle piece I have been waiting for my whole life.
its hard for me to watch him perform, its almost too much.
Please God, send me my clone of this beautiful soul….Im waiting for you.
I will wait forever.
he really was...otherworldly. I think some of the greatest musicians are. the really special ones can’t be here long I guess
Pure Perfection
There is Only One Jeff..
There is only ONE jeff ❤
Listening on mushrooms 🍄
Amazing. I’ve listened 2-3 times
At max volume
I watch every live perfomance because they are unique. What a genius we have missed :c
It´s not a song, even a performance: it's a statment!
Gosh...Some parts of Jeff's singing are worth other artists' whole repertoire.
He is so amazing I' ll never be able to do him justice with any words of praise I may come up with.
just warming his voice chords till 2:00 and it's already a dream
The world is now just about ready to appreciate this music
Of course those of you who’ve been here for nearly 20 years kudos to you
I think you are right…
Nothing compares
the bass lone in this song is absolutely enchanting
Absolutely mesmerising performance from start to finish
Listened to Jeff and suddenly found myself listening to Nusrat then Nina then Led Zeppelin. A genius without even knowing me.
This is a masterpiece, beautifully composed and executed, Jeff was a genius, such a talented musician and a moving voice
Talk about flawless performance imo
I humbly say that I felt I had a brief visit from Jeff today. Thanks, Universe and thank you, Soul Brother, Dream Brother!~
Send him my way sister…lol 😮💨😭🤣
This is sooooooo incredible. Touches you to the soul. Band is super tight. Wish Jeff n this band were still around.
beautiful... love Jeff Buckely such a talent.
+alicia mcmillan lol.. He has a bunch of likes by JEFFS music videos... lol. so guess who's the slow one. not you!! haha
+alicia mcmillan I think Will the brilliant genius doesn't realise that 'talent' can be a noun used to describe an extremely talented individual as well as an adjective so he was just trying to be all clever by correcting your English … probably time to delete your stupidity Will because you look idiotic and mean and petty :D
+John Arundell Thanks for bringing the attention back to Jeff and his "Talent" and NOT making the focuss on this unpleasent person lol
alicia mcmillan I love the way you Always delete your dimwitted comments after I tell you something, I speak my mind like you do,but I don't go coward and delete my original posts, why would I post something to someone who isn't there? YOU DON I T ALL THE TIME... and to be a "True " fan to Jeff Buckley ..lol. who ALSO SPOKE HIS MIND AND STOOD BY IT,NEVER BEING A FAKE FLAKY ASS PERSON, FYI he wouldn't have liked you.
alicia mcmillan you disgust me.. like he said to a chick in the crowd... STFU. or stand by your word to begin with. Don't be a coward, cowards are "unpleasant "!
What a beautiful mystical spirit he was ❤
3:45 that noise! My god, that noise; I LoVE that noise!!!🤘🏻🤯🤘🏻
what an incredible amazing man
He inspires me
this vocalizing at the beginning... Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan. I know Jeff loved him very much... my god...
He's one of my inspiration to sing and be come musician first was Chris cornell and second was Jeff Buckley
I think he's incredibly fantastic! His voice and words come to his heart as a windy, scratchy wind on his face, with no brakes or discounts. GREAT
His voice is haunting its sticks to you and lingers its so beautiful
