He's where both Matt Bellamy of Muse fame and Thom Yorke of Radiohead got their inspiration, so there's Buckley fans in some fairly high places in the music world.
I agree. Have you seen this? ruclips.net/video/Ti6qhk3tX2s/видео.html. Such an influence. Glad to see others noticed this. Cheers from Orlando
Also John Mayer said that he was the artist that inspired him to want to be an artist himself
There's a much older clip of Robert Plant talking about Buckley, probably form the 90's but I can't find it, so a newer one will have to suffice. Plant is one of my favorite artists, as is Jeff Buckley.

Could not agree more with you
Been saying it for years until I saw your comments
I wish Danny carrey played the drums on it
Also, Coldplay drew heavily from Buckley. Muse and Coldplay took two different aspects of his style and ran with them in different directions.
Holy crap...What did I just discover here!? That voice is like nothing I have ever heard.
my favorite from him is when he sang didos lament, i would really recomend that one!
one of us, one of us
Yes and check out his father Tim Buckley ✨ wow ✨ their are two of a kind ♥️🤍💚💙🕊
The ones that we made - "Dream Brother," "So Real," "Last Goodbye" and "Eternal Life" - mean a lot to me because at the time that I wrote them, a long time ago, I was around an environment that thought that they were completely loser songs. It was rotting away. I put them on the album to prove at least to the songs that they weren't losers. They were worth recording. Sort of like finding kids that have been told all their lives that they're pieces of shit, and finally you have to go around proving to them, by putting them in a completely other setting, that no, they are worth knowing and loving. - Jeff Buckley
What a wonderful analogy!
OMG. He was just the greatest. I still miss him.
At first i thought it was you, Katherine, saying you wrote the songs
And those are his best work.
It's true.
That intro was some truly spiritual shit Jeff must of been channelling. Fucking chills. Wish it would of lasted longer.
Seems to be one of his tributes to his well documented 'musical' hero, Nusrat Fatah Ali Khan, a Pakistani spiritual singer.
@@babajeezus peak Jeff really was a weird mix of Led Zeppelin, Slint, and Nusrat
He was...
the greatest voice in the world ever you cannot argue it is undeniable holy fucking shit pure elegance and beauty
You never gonna be more right in your whole life
@@kmilo901001 in his whole life ???
Layne Staley is better but Jeff has a beautiful high pitched voice
Except for Roy Orbison
If Lame (intentional) Stale (intentional) was a Honda Accord, Buckley would have been a Porsche Cayenne Turbo Coupe SE.
It is frustrating not having the full video footage of Jeff in Glastonbury or in any other show. The video recordings we have of him are so few :(
Clearly the intro reminded me of Nusrat Fateh Ali khan, the sufi singer from Pakistan. Jeff was clearly the best rock singer from all times, yes ALL TIMES. Each live performance, he put his guts on the table. So sad he died too young, he could have done such beautiful things.
I believe Jeff described Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan as his "Elvis". He was definitely a fan.
What a flawless, raw, emotional performance. Incredible that he could stand on stage and let his soul bleed through his voice and guitar.
He’s either a siren or an angel or an alien or insanely human… or a magician
Exactly
I think all at once
Im 18 years late mourning his death. He died the year I was born.. It hurts to think about, he brings out feelings very few musicians can do.
Sarah Rose Music Beautiful. Tell your friends about him.
I actually got the album when it was released, was 14, weren't even many sold, actually it flopped haha. For me, just blew me away.. for good
We are the same age, I need friends like you now. :(
Do we grasp the importance of creativity? In all it's malleable mediums. An individual or group passionate, creative process then transcends time and space to connect with the recipient. Becoming a part of their life. Our lives! Traveling some unseen conduit. Landing in our lap's like heart ache and hand grenade's. Art, music and ALL forms of creativity outdate religion, language and government. It's universally personal and the sinew that binds humanity.

This was a religious experience hearing this rendition
Doing this kind of stuff is ridiculously hard. Now you have thousands of people watching while you bare your soul! What a legend truly
Officially 80,000 for this show ...
Although the fence was pulled down ...
so a few more ..
Someone hurry up and invent a time machine so I can jump back real quick and attend this gig.
It was just amazing.
Spiritual. That's what Jeff did. Spiritual rock.
This moves me so deeply. To the core of my self.
This performance is both haunting and spiritual at same time. I can't stop listening to it.
Yes it is... Is extremely hunting
its the auditory equivalent of incense burning in a dark lonely tomb
hauntingly beautiful
I had the good fortune to see Jeff Buckley in performance in London, in the spring of
1995. This was the opening song. It is a damn shame he never got the opportunity to
progess onto bigger and better things, but I am very grateful I had the chance to witness
such a gifted talent. He remains utterly unsurpassable.
The best Dream Brother's live version
It's pretty amazing how much respect he has in the music world. Once I started to seek out music rather than just listen to the radio, Jeff was one of the first artists who blew my mind. It's hard to listen to the radio now.
I haven't listened to the radio in about 20 years which coincidentally (or not) is about how long I've been listening to Jeff Buckley for :D life is much too short to have other people decide what you hear.
That’s how I managed to miss so much good music, because I couldn’t stand the commercials on radio. I discovered Buckley late too.
Try Jacques Brel. Different genre, equally powerful voice. Ces gen-la volume 1 is a good starting point.
He makes the guitar sound like a piano in the intro
speechless
Incredible performance! It would be blessing for us to have this in dvd!
It's unbelievable! charismatic, magician, a real king!!!
This is high, high art. I am so tired of everyone devaluing musicians down to the likes of Justin Beaver and Taylor Shrift. No one has the remotest idea how much bravery it takes to do this. Leave your ego in flames on the stage. How rare it really is. Musicians like this have not reduced the music down to a mathematical equation or an algorithm of what will sell drinks or get likes. The technical aspect of the music has been meticulously created and written and rehearsed to the point where its no longer necessary. What is necessary is the absolute naked, in-the-moment truth of the performance. Its almost like a cathartic portrayal of what the lyrics depict. Ive been writing and playing music since I was 17 and the biggest challenge has always been to leave behind the desire to illicit the audience to "liking the music"; rather, just enter the song, embody it, let it flow thru you, and then let it live its own existence on stage. Move on to the next one. Its HARD. But for those who attempt it, I will always look to them as role models and my respects will be all for them. Jeff Buckley was one of few of a dying breed. As long as Im alive, i will carry the tradition forth. Regardless of whether Im seen as good or bad or shit or whatever.
Well said my friend...
More power to you!!
Beautiful…… just beautiful. A true angel sent to Earth.
Nothing and nobody brings me solace like Jeff Buckley. I love you, dream brother.
I hurt my back today so badly that I can barely stand. But while I am listening to the sound of his voice I can feel no pain.
This is the best live version of a song I’ve ever heard
I agree, his voice hasn't been quite as heavenly as it was at Glastonbury. That is a beautiful image. His voice still gives me chills and makes me tear up after listening to him for over a decade.
This Version is so huanting and beautiful .. The build up in the begining wow it just get you in the right mind set for the song .. Hypnotic state .. focuses you on his amazing voice .. and all the backround music is pure extasy .. R.I.P my Dream Brother .. Return If Possible I ment :)
Don't be like the one who made me so old... don't be like the one who left behind his name, 'cause they're waiting for you like I waited for mine and nobody ever came...
Brilliant version of this song. Simply brilliant.
The intro is absolutely breathtaking.! Never get bored of listening to Jeff. R.I.P
This is the best version of this song I’ve heard. Wish I could see video of this concert!
Highly recommend the Correggio concert footage someone posted on RUclips. Not the best recording but performance is incredible. My absolute fave of JB. RIP never, ever forgotten, always in our hearts and souls!
The world may have lost Jeff. But none of us did. Will always listen.
possibly the most powerful version of this song ever!
5:55 absolutely haunting my spirit
Just needed to hear it again. Listening to the trance like intro just make me feel how alive I am. No words to describe what the few first minutes are doing in my soul, all I can say is that's fuel for life.
One of the things I love most is, out of all the people I know, theres only 2 other Jeff Buckley fans, but when I come to watch him live on youtube, and read all the comments below, I discover Im one of many who truly appreciate his greatness. It makes me feel warm inside knowing theres hunders of people who still love him for his rare and amazing talent, his hyponitc voice, lyrics and psychedelic, soul rending guitar playing
OMG exact same here ! Except I know no-one who appreciates him like I do… I need these comments badly
Ethereal, always gives me goosebumps. So sad to think we will never hear anyone like him again.
He could sing the alphabet and I would be enthralled...one can discern the influence of Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan. There is something almost mystically, religiously irreducible about Buckley...his musical lineage, his almost otherworldly voice...will there ever be another like him?
There's no wonder why this man's gone too soon; because GOD wants to enjoy his angelic voice in Heaven.... And who knows may be Jeff Buckley is a angel sent to Earth for a period of time and then went back to Heaven because his music is something beyond description.
No. This moment of beauty is the product of a human being as flawed and fallible as you and I. No angels, no divine intervention, no god(s).. I respect your choice of belief, I hope it works for you but believe me, when you take 'God' out of your equation, you'll appreciate these moments so much more..
DavobarX Of course you're completely right man, I just feel sick when people like Jeff Buckley or Jim Morison gone early while shit like Celine Dion or Mariah Carey last longer making music I believe no living male like it ... so WHY THAT?
His vocals, especially in intro, instantly to a spiritual realm. Just amazing.
amazing, hallucinatory, tantalizing, spiritual ... perfect song to meditate on ...💜❤💫♾
Today is definitely a blast Jeff Buckley day for me
"Hey Jeff, you pushed it too far. An earthling doesn't deserve those kind of feelings. Come back to our dimension. Now, SWIM!" .... R.I.P Jeff Buckley I'm a fan of your descendants, Radiohead and Muse. And of course, you.
He was anything but an earthling...
my dad died in '95. jb's grace kept me sane travelling from luton and harefield every day to see my dad. jb died a month after my dad. two deaths that year 4 me... fantastic voice... jb, not my dad...
Jeff died in '97
Such sublime emotion cannot last long in this "hell hole" world...in which we must endure. ; (
Jeff Buckley is the most emotive singer/writer/performer I have yet heard. Be thankful for what he gave us.. pure mind blowing. Epic performance.
I’ve just discovered spiritual music and it’s heavenly listening to the genius that was Jeff Buckley. He has no equals and remains the most talented that ever walked this earth.
This is epic and almost like an invocation to listen to now. Beautiful.
This guy is the most incredible thing ever
absolutely amazing performance and brilliant song
Welcome to the stage Mr Buckley! Imagine how you would feel when the set starts like this :)
This performance is just perfect and will stay that way forever. I'd love to see someone's reaction to this in 500 years time.
Brings me tears, this song is so beautiful and Jeff was so talented !!
just perfect! the man was unique
I was just writing somewhere that this is THAT song that when I hear it…it does something to me…every single time
Through music--such as this--we touch the sublime.
Whoever posted this please know you have my undying love and respect !!
ca c'est de l'entrée en matière! ce mec n'avait peur de rien, c'est fou!
Jeff died when i was only 2, i can't even imagine what it would be like to see him live. For all the people that did, you are by far the luckiest people to have lived. Imagine the wonders he would have accomplished if he still lived today. RIP, such a tragedy.
Thank you so much for this! Jeff is... Jeff is Jeff that's all. His voice will remain with me as long as I live and more. Merci beaucoup ♥♥♥
Absolute power and vunerability...and total control over every audience that has ever heard Scott & Jeff...
A fucking god of the music scene
I prefer their "Live at L'Olympia" version of this song. His voice in that is incredible. But it is in this too, of course. He never disappointed.
Blackened Eyes Official Listen to the Live In Chicago version - unfortunately RUclips took it off.
Listen to: "Mystery White Boy" It's live. It's the best live performance for power. He screams with such intensity..more so than in this performance.
It’s never over love ❤️ Thank you ❤️
whenever I listen to this song (or basically any by jeff) it sticks in my head for days, I wake up to the music playing in my brain, its amazing
A magician lost in a river
Wow, that was a great intro..
We did. That's what being a genius in music is all about - not him (maybe a pain in the ...) but his legacy to us all. He chose to sing and express all this to us, don't forget that. I fought hard, as many, to be hapy so yeah, I do deserve it.
magnifique chanson.. qui donne des frissons sur le refrain
Heavens music on earth!
Angel voice😇♥️♥️♥️💞💞💞
o God, you'r Blessed!
And me to,
to hear, feel Him right now, in cold, cloudy Ljubljana/EU;)
Ther's no borders for Grace.
Thaks hanibou!
merci beaucoup.
A tear...my tear's. Damn!
Holy fucking shit. That intro… 🤯
Best ever version!
Just awesome...
All things rise and go away, nothing is forever. It's natural. We don't have to find that a pity. Thanks for being 'you', Jeff.
Merci hanibou.
This!
I remember it well... so sad.
Please, where will be the video of this version of Dream Brother. This is a work of art. 🐢🐍💚🌶🔥🔥🔥
Dream brother. God bless you Jeff
perfect
what. an. incredible show!!!!!!!!!!!
WOW
The enormous gulf between the band and their audience of around 40 metres is just sad :/
sad, really! They were all "quite", i can't understand why there were cops everywhere...
Sofia Noiti Do you mean "quiet"?
Thank you for posting this!!!!
Health and Blessings, beyond...✌️❤️
Dueling it up w/the mantra
divine
why is that? Everyone deserves to be on this earth, however amazing or spectacular they may have been. I'm quite dissapointed that he passed away before I was even old enough to know who he was. His ability to just seem like he was just mucking around one minute and then turn into a beautiful melody both amazes and annoys me at how good he really was! I'm sure he would have loved to be treated as any old normal human would have not a god of some sort that people wern't worthy of even knowing of
wow!
I love intro in this version! Thank you!
I can't help but think that he may have ended up just 'another guy' in the music industry if he were to continue on in his music career; I mean look where promising bands of the 90's like RATM, Alice in Chains, Pearl Jam, and Soundgarden ended up commercially (Keyword COMMERCIALLY).
But there's another side that thinks he may have been an exception: He certainly had all the accolades to do so but things changed after '01.
Stuff like that makes me cherish what we've left of Jeff Buckley.
Omg the best
j'en frissonnne.
+TrainJaune Tu m'étonnes, petit train jaune.
To the 16 dislikes,
Try listening again with the volume “on”.
Best, R
