As a cat woman with 4 cats...this would be my dream tiny home. I love her little catio. For ages I've wanted to make a similar cat box attached to one of my windows, so they could have their own window box to bask in the sun in. I love the idea of the cat door in a plexiglass inset to allow them to go in and out. Plus I love all the cat stairs/catwalks, including the wall mounted bed. Honestly, all her cat themed touches are amazing. I envy her her tiny house, and her cats are beautiful. I have 3 black cats, with one being long hair, and an orange and white tabby. I'd probably want a bigger house than hers. My cats and I currently live in a 500sqft apartment, so they definitely enjoy more space.
Wow four cats in an apartment? I hope sometimes you are letting them out doors to enjoy nature. All those cats are not happy being locked inside under each other at all times. It doesn't matter how "comfortable" you think you have made their living space they are miserable not having the privilege to enjoy nature. That's cruelty to animals if that's you.😢
I really enjoy watching the videos where people show how they creatively made their life work in the space they could afford, as opposed to super expensive tiny homes with everything built-in & perfect. This girl reminds me so much of my daughter. I really loved the thoughts to her cats.
Kudos to you for taking a Tiny shell and turning it into a very functional and cozy space! What a confidence builder to make the additions and changes as you go. BTW: the Adirondack chairs are something you should hold onto for the rest of your life. I know your dad has got to be proud of your accomplishments. Way to go...............
I wanted to go tiny, but a tiny house was not practical for me, so I moved into a 1 bedroom, ground floor apartment with a patio. It's near family and I love it. Your tiny house is one of the best I've seen. I love the adjustments you've made to it. The kitchen shelves are lovely and the baskets are adorable! You've given me some ideas for my bathroom, though I suspect that your bathroom would fit in it at least twice, it's still small. I do have a laundry room off of it, which is delightful. I remember how thrilled my aunt was when her younger brother installed her stackable washer/dryer unit in her front hall closet so she didn't need to go downstairs to do laundry. I feel the same way. Looking at your staircase, I think you might be best served by installing drawers on the stairs themselves, like the two you already have. The house was obviously designed and built by men who have never lived tiny, otherwise you would have storage everywhere. Tiny house guys get it, though. One guy built drop-down cupboards between the joists of his loft floor in the kitchen. Of course, my first thought was I would be permanently concussed from bumping into them when I had them open, but they did look handy. Your bedroom loft is excellent! I love the bookshelf and side table. I love that you built and adapted so much of your home furnishings. Now the catio is simply brilliant! There is no other way to describe it. And the way you fit their litter box in is perfect. However, the cat loft takes the whole design to Spoiled Princesses Level! The catwalks and steps are exceptional! My cats would love all of that. And using the ladder as a scratching post! Well, it reminds me of my 4 ft wooden step ladder that I covered with sisal, added boards to make the paint shelf and top big enough for cats to sprawl on and wrapped them in carpet. It was a lovely cat tower, especially after I added the hammock, which they loved. They could lay in it and watch the birds. It was also a lot cheaper than the cat towers sold in stores. I do believe that the outside of your home is, perhaps, the best part! The deck is beautiful! It makes your home so welcoming and the chairs you built are gorgeous! So comfortable! I think your little table and chairs are really cute too. I love that your shed matches your house. I am also amazed at how organized everything is. I would love to see another tour of your home after you get it finished.
I, too, am very much a Cat lady. If they come, they get fed & always fresh water. Presently, I have "20". People always want kittens so can't find homes for older ones. I spay/neuter all I can catch. Am on fixed SS income, when the vet bills arrive, that is tough for me, buttt. I, too, buy/find cat 'items'. Have about 10 cat cups. Usually find them at Dollar Tree. Kudos to you and your babies. Loved how Ashley held her tools saying never with out them. Wonder if she has a tool belt to hold in the ready. Just a female vision of Tim Allen from Tool Time... No grunting but she does have the gleam when talking tools.👍👍👏🎉😺😺😺🤟
Adorable! Love the matching shed and her tool chest. The catio is ingenius! Thanks for not letting your cats roam freely. Too dangerous! As far as removing the bathroom door, you could always use a tension rod and curtain. It would help, too, with retaining heat in the bathroom after showering. Always open then to air out. Enjoy!!
No. Letting cats roam is not dangerous especially in a tiny community where you know everybody. I never lived in a tight knit community though we had many cats when I was growing up. We lived in the heart of the city and our cats were free to come and go as they pleased. If you train them they will never go too far away. Our cats would always stay close enough to hear us call them when it was time to come in. Cats need to have freedom to roam. That is their nature. When you deprive them of their natural proclivities, you make yourself to be a cruel, selfish abuser who should not have the privilege of owning any pets.
@revekat2053 We would take them out in the yard with us to play as little as 6 weeks old. When we sat out on our porch every day, they would be out there with us where we can see them. As they got a little older (4 to 5 months), they were free to venture all about our yard and the vacant lot that was next to our house. They never went more than a block away. Everyone on our street knew they belonged to us. They were trained to come when we called out for them. Cats can be trained just like dogs. It's that lazy careless owners don't care to put the effort in to do it.
You are so upfront and truthful about yourself and your home and how it wasn’t all like a big satisfying feeling and because of your true feelings it’s so much easier for us to be prepared and to not set ourselves up for such a high expectation that we are then disappointed because you have just about everyone building it up so much and never say anything negative so I already love your intro you also told about the contractor and I have heard some very bad things about some shady builders and so many scammers now a days I am shocked when a homeowner gets scammed and they lose because our laws protect the crooks . You have to prove that you are not wrong and they are so good at this they know the laws and hardworking homeowners are not thinking about such things!!! I you are really doing well and love your catio but your entire home is great
@@daviduribe3111 that's more than my rent in England, and I have front and back gardens and the actual brick built bungalow too! Full size rooms, storage, my hallway cupboard is almost as big as her shed! I also have two sheds outside and a big loft. I do think, for what actually amounts to a small square of grass, that's a ridiculous amount to charge her for "rent". Mine is £85 a week, which is approximately $110 x 4 = $440 a month.
I would add a barn door to the bathroom and she can move the items she has on the wall where the barn door would rest no loss of space and less money than a pocket door
So many awesome things about this tiny home and owner. Love all the cat features! ❤️ I really wish Canada, and specifically Ontario, had tiny home communities like the US does. Love the deck and love the shed!
@@emmas1082 For a 2bd 2ba 1150 sq ft apartment in one of the nicest suburbs in Virginia, I paid $110 for electricity and only $50 for Fios internet. Water was like $30/ month. How much utilities do you need in a tiny home? 😂 The footprint of this tiny home is so small and this is like 2x the cost of a large apartment. Maybe the lot rent is excessive as she doesn’t own the land. That means she’s not paying property tax out of that amount. It still seems quite high if the place is paid off.
@@Originalman144 What she is doing is cheaper than buying land. The costs involved with land: permits, surveying, install sewer or septic, electrical and outlet for the home, land pad, create a driveway, property taxes, insurance, etc., can be very expensive. If she utilized a mortgage or a loan to do that, it would cost more than $550 a month to pay off and she would pay interest each month. For $550 she can socialize with people, utilize the facilities, and not deal with all of the above. Also, maybe it is a good location near everything? The cost to buy land in a good area, near everything, is expensive. Depending on zoning she might not be able to put her tiny home on it, or otherwise get away with just living on the property in camping mode- but if she was able to, it might not be very comfortable.

I love this lady She is a do-it-yourself person. I have learned a lot watching this video. Loooove all the kitty cats and cat mugs etc. As a cat lover this video speaks to me 😸😸😸
The cats are adorable and I love love love the catio. Having cats is a big concern for me about going tiny down the road and she’s made it work. I wouldn’t love the litter box being in the kitchen. I also love the outdoor screen for movie nights. I agree with another commenter who mentioned they’d enclose the deck/make a screened area to enjoy the outdoors without mosquitoes and the cats could cuddle outside with their human. Just an fyi, the front door swinging out vs in may be a fire hazard/not acceptable to code.
I suspect a "screened" in porch would have tp be the style of the catio. Regular screens are ruined because cats love to crawl on the screen material. Meaning it gets ruined..lol
I think she did a wonderful job on that home, I would suggest as a cat owner that in the summer months she put additional screening over that chicken wire to protect the babies from mosquito's and keep them out of the house.
Great place. Rental costs are so high though. The initial and ongoing costs these days are absurd and entirely unfair on people. What is happening to so many with housing costs is unacceptable.
Love your not jammed into a parking lot community as I keep seeing. Love the exterior colour, n the wood interior, but I’m a bit stunned of the zero storage solutions the builder made for your home interior causing you to have to come up with it all and modify what he did do to max your space. 🍻
I like the idea of starting with the basics. Then adding your own personal design as you go. Our likes and dislikes change over time. Redoing the bathroom or the storage in the stairs. Can be thought thru and be according to her own personal needs.Great Job!!

This is totally doable for one person! The only thing I'd change is a space to stand next to the bed and extend the catio to ground level so they can have more space. Great vid!
Eventually, every resident of the ITH communities will have a video. I could never live tiny, but I do appreciate their creativity, although my eyes roll when they showcase that they own a drill or cat inspired coffee mugs. I really wonder how long they will live in an 8’ x 20’ room. The killer is resale when they move, I just don’t believe that once they set it in place that it will likely ever be moved again. I’m thinking that for $40k there should be regular mobile homes available in the Tennessee area.
This has been my favorite tiny home yet! I also have three cats and currently live in a mobile home. I have been toying with the idea of downsizing into a tiny home in the future and having it built to accommodate cats. Ashley has made some excellent additions to her home for her kitties and herself too!
Three cats in a mobile home? 😮 Please tell me that they are free to go outdoors. I'm sure that many cats in a mobile living space would be uncomfortable for cats to confined to 24/7. Cats can be trained, for anyone who don't know, to go roaming but so far from their home. It's inhumane to keep animals locked inside all the time with no access to experience nature. Any pet owner who deprives their pets from enjoying nature is cruel and should have their rights terminated from ever owning animals.
@@Palmetto-J Please do not judge others without knowing their circumstances. Your comment was very harsh and unnecessary. I'm very aware of how cats can be trained to be indoor/outdoor cats. I live in a rural country area. My home is less than 100 feet from a rural state highway with 55mph traffic rushing by 24/7 that includes everything including cars, large semi trucks, and farm equipment. Wild animals, including deer, racoons, rabbits, etc. die on that highway frequently. Why would I chance losing my beloved cats to such a horrible death? All it would take would be chasing after a rabbit or rodent ... forgetting about the highway ... Behind my home and not very far up a hill, there is timberland where wild animals live, including coyotes, wild fox, and lately even bobcats, which come out hunting for food. My neighbors have lost chickens, geese, small baby farm animals, and even cats to those animals. There are large hawks and eagles that circle the nearby farm hayfields looking for rabbits and rodents and will swoop down and snatch cats. My neighbor lost several outdoor cats that way. My cats have lived indoors since I rescued them as small kittens and they are actually frightened of the outdoor noises when I open the door to go outside. They never attempt to dash outside, which I am thankful for. They are always free to sit in window sills, with windows open, where they love to watch birds, squirrels, and other critters. I spoil them rotten with interactive toys, two enormous cat tree(s), regular health care, the best of healthy cat food, a water fountain, and my mobile home is the largest of the newer manufactured homes where they can run the whole length of the home unempeded, which they love to do, chasing each other and sounding like a herd of elephants. LOL!! My cats live very happy, content lives and I would not have cats if I ever felt I could not offer them the best of everything. So please, do not judge or offer harsh criticisms about people not having the right to have animals when you do not know the circumstances. Thank you.
What a sweet young woman. Your cats are so cute ❤❤❤ I can make a suggestion ~ for the bathroom door you can buy a small inexpensive tension rod and add a curtain to add some privacy without taking up space. 😊
This is so great and inspiring, cause I've got 2 cats and am going be building tiny! We're totally planning on building a catio and catrunwalk/shelves too! (and I'm a photographer) lol
The only thing I would do different is build a covered cat box area out on the deck or under the catio. Just my way to keep the box out of a tiny area.
How wonderful that she learned how to do a lot of the building herself. And I'm a cat lady, so I will be taking tips for the future when I finally have my first home.
Wow - Ashley has done a really great job with the bare-bones house she got. I can't believe the builder made so little access under the stairs. But she's turned it into something that is working for her and her cats. With Ashley's love of building things, she's really transforming this place. I hope you'll show her upgrades in a future episode, Jenna!
Nice cross ventilation in the loft. Smart girl. You'd be surprised at how many people don't have that. Glad your Dad came to help you. Love your Great Lakes color. Lots of nice additions.
These are beautiful I really like tiny homes a lot, but there are a lot of drawbacks and one of the big drawbacks that a lot of people don’t talk about is where are you going to put your tiny home? This lady is paying nearly 600 a month , for the land . This is a huge no for me for so many reasons. A lot of towns and states have strict laws on tiny homes. Yes it’s great that you can get your own tiny home for 30 grand but that’s just the beginning.
Yes, unless you have inherited some land, or have family that have a very large parcel, that is the number one obstacle to overcome, a piece of land on which to put ANYTHING!!! You can have your sights set on the best small home but one has to think about where she or he is going to place it!!! Lot rents NEVER decrease! And step 2 is the local planning and zoning commission!...
Love many of the additions you’ve made your tiny home to accommodate your and your babies’ needs. Agree about doing doors on your steps to be able to move your stored items more easily. Thanks for sharing your home with us! Enjoy!!!

Never give them money to buy materials, buy it yourself or go shop with them.

I can relate too. 🙆🏻♀️🫶🏽
She has made her tiny house adorable and purrfect!
I love how the kitties have their own loft space and patio. So cute! ❤
Thank you for being a decent human ~ a fellow cat lady
I ADORE your devotion to your cats! Great layout! 😻
I enjoyed watching your sweet cats and how they can go outside too!
Such a nice home! Love the cat friendly upgrades such a thoughtful cat mom! ❤
Omg I’m an NC cat mom of 7 who also collects cat themed mugs & such. I love the innovation & consideration of the cats within this home!
Our fur babies are adorable ❤. I'm also a cat mum to a black domestic shorthair called Buffy
Does Buffy get to play outdoors?
Loved how Ashley held her tools saying never with out them. Wonder if she has a tool belt to hold in the ready. Just a female vision of Tim Allen from Tool Time... No grunting but she does have the gleam when talking tools.👍👍👏🎉😺😺😺🤟
Love the color of your house, great cardio, and nice woodwork/carpentry! Well done!!
The house is beautiful. I love it❤. & I love the cat walks, it’s nice for the cats to have their own space and little cat walks.
@@Palmetto-Jhow do you train them to do that?
I you are really doing well and love your catio but your entire home is great
Very cool tiny house! Love how she made extra storage areas and also the cat spaces for her cats are awesome!😊
Nice. Lovely living. But the rent should be max 200 $. Do not see why they need to charge more than that.
Her lot rent is quite reasonable for a bank-financed tiny home park.
@@tamielizabethallaway2413don’t tell where you live… that’s how cost of living goes up. Everyone shows up. 😂
@@angelinimartini haha 😁
The prices for EVERYTHING in America is terrifying. I don't know how half the people survive honestly! 😳
😘😘😘
Many trailer parks charge 500 to 900 per month.
Best home ever. Love the shed, patios and the catio!!! So many excellent ideas. Love your builds!!!
Nice work! Congratulations!
Great storage and cat space ideas.❤❤❤❤
2 cats, 120 sq ft. TH , 5 years later and doubling the size.
Happy to see another female doing the tiny life with her cats and tools ❤
I would add a barn door to the bathroom and she can move the items she has on the wall where the barn door would rest no loss of space and less money than a pocket door
So many awesome things about this tiny home and owner. Love all the cat features! ❤️ I really wish Canada, and specifically Ontario, had tiny home communities like the US does. Love the deck and love the shed!
Beautiful! $34,000 is very cheap…she got a great deal. The wood is gorgeous⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
But still $550 a month for lot rent. That’s ridiculous actually. Property tax, insurance, maintenance too?
@@Originalman144 if that includes water, sewer, Utilities, etc., it is not that bad.
@@Originalman144 …..digging a well or piping water in? Even if she is close to all the utilities it is still expensive installing them in a lot.
Hi Ashley. I love your home, your cats and your catio! I also live in a tiny home in Tennessee and have 2 cats. I have part of my catio built, but haven't finished it yet. That will be a spring project. You've done some very cleaver things for storage. Great job. I like everything you've done inside for the cats too! Enjoy your home!
You have a beautiful tiny house and I love all the thought and care you put into your house for your 3 cats...thank you for sharing 💜🇦🇺
I love all the extra adjustments made for your fur babies . its a cozy tiny home and i love the colour.
Great job making your tiny home for your own style and needs! You definitely seem very happy and excited about your space. 😊
Your tiny house is cute as a button! Love your kitties. I can def picture you opening a cat cafe and making a go of it!!❤
The builder looks like Incredible Tiny Homes located in east Tennessee. Love the wood everywhere! Now this manufacturer uses barn doors instead of regular doors for bathroom and bedroom doors. They are good quality and slide on a track. Very clever lady to make all the shelves, etc. to make it hers!
I was thinking the same thing that the builder was ITH.....
Thinking for that price it wasn’t ITH!
@@judith3774 🤣💯❤️
ITH does not build cedar lined showers.
ITH are more caring and thoughtful when they build their tiny homes. I'm sure they weren't the builders for this home.
Beautiful little TINY HOME!!!!! I love cats. I have 2 cats myself, and I feed about 7 wild cats so I got my hands full. I love all of them. Good Luck with your house . GOD BLESS YOU HONEY🕊🌈 FROM A SISTER IN CHRIST🕊
The builders ripped you off! You should expose them so we don't hire them. Good job with the the innovative ideas and add-ons you did. Way to go!
I love her little house!! And her cats 🐈 🐈⬛ 🐈 as a fellow cat lady, I love how she accommodated them 😻
Awesome space!!! You could hang painters cloth curtains on your porch for added privacy. Paint a very wide horizontal stripe on them for fun. Love your cats❤❤
Ashley did such an amazing job! Wow! Love those kitties as well.
Love your tiny house Ashley.
The whole home is very cosy and the colour of the exterior is nice. You three beautiful cats are adorable. I like cats as well. You are very talented those chairsare nice alsoyour cute little bedside cabinet.
I love this house, this woman, those cats, that outdoor living area, the cat loft, even that spacious park! If i weren't a married farmer, i would want to be her tiny house neighbor! Best wishes to her.
It's nice to see one of these episodes where the owner has cats! I've always wondered how you could accommodate multiple cats comfortably.
I love this woman. She's so creative and personable.
Love her energy! She’s a go getter and not superficial
Your tiny house is so cute....I love it and love how you accommodated all your kitties :)
Excellent outlook, and determination to meet her needs. I like the ongoing plan to improve storage. Great job making it your own place, and your kitties. 🥶🖤🔔👍🏻💓
Best build with modifications I've seen, but then I love cats! 😹😻😹
Ellie, Landon and Lulu are adorable❤😊YOU did a wonderful job on your build😊❤
This is one of my favorite tiny homes and tours that I've seen so far! I'm a crazy cat lady, and if I ever were to move into a tiny home I would need to modify it for furry family members as well and you gave me great ideas! I live in a good sized house with 2 other people but haven't found a catio solution that would fit my yard situation til now-I just may have to copy that plexiglass and support set up!
Luv your tiny house and the additions for your kitty cats🐱!!! 😊❤
I love this lady
She is a do-it-yourself person.
I have learned a lot watching this video.
Loooove all the kitty cats and cat mugs etc.
As a cat lover this video speaks to me 😸😸😸
Cats are so beautiful.
She could eventually get a robokitty liter box in the cat loft area or just place it outside if she has the porch screened in.
I think she did a wonderful job on that home, I would suggest as a cat owner that in the summer months she put additional screening over that chicken wire to protect the babies from mosquito's and keep them out of the house.
@DonnellOkafor-pw7zcshh Karen
Love her, love the cats, love the cat mugs, and the tiny home!
Great place. Rental costs are so high though. The initial and ongoing costs these days are absurd and entirely unfair on people. What is happening to so many with housing costs is unacceptable.
It's all by intentional design.
The 'great reset' is not a myth and was not created for the poor or middle class to survive/thrive.
@@amandab6835 I agree.
Love your not jammed into a parking lot community as I keep seeing.
Love the exterior colour, n the wood interior, but I’m a bit stunned of the zero storage solutions the builder made for your home interior causing you to have to come up with it all and modify what he did do to max your space. 🍻
Built so owner can put in storage to meet individual needs. Decreases cost too. Kind of like a blank slate.
@@denisephillips9269 oooh thx!🍻
I like the idea of starting with the basics. Then adding your own personal design as you go. Our likes and dislikes change over time. Redoing the bathroom or the storage in the stairs. Can be thought thru and be according to her own personal needs.Great Job!!
That was fun!...going thru the house with her telling us about it. Her joy is contagious to me. Love seeing how pets can be incorporated into tiny homes, esp when their happiness matters this much! I have 5 rescued cats, so good to know that 3 in house works! The home seems very cozy, comfy for all living there & cuz' she builds things, makkes the home unique & purr-fect for all 4 of them! Very beautiful home & sweet young lady! Thanks for sharing your lovely home & kitty kats! 😊❤️👏🏾👏🏾
I think we were separated at birth! lol I just really connected with how you talk and describe things. Beautiful tour, thank you for sharing your tiny house.💙🐱😸😼
I’m a builder. Near you. Overall I think your builder did ok, especially for the $.. however, NEVER give money, especially very much, up front.
The issue is where to park it 🤷🏻♀️
She went to a NC community where they are welcomed by a land owner. 💙
Any land in the Pacific north west? I'm looking. RV parks are getting bought out by corps and super expensive
@@luvyatubers wow so now that’s another issue I didn’t know about…u see i know there’s some tiny homes community here and there maybe in one state or two but it’s not the norm and i’ve seen many that have family land where they can park for free…the more i look into tiny homes (which some are becoming more expensive) the more i realize buying a small piece of land is really what i need to do first or just rent from a tiny house community if they already provide the house 🏡 thx for sharing that info 👍🏼

Your cats are so cute ❤❤❤
I can make a suggestion ~ for the bathroom door you can buy a small inexpensive tension rod and add a curtain to add some privacy without taking up space. 😊
I love everything about this tiny house except for the litter pan in the kitchen.
This is so great and inspiring, cause I've got 2 cats and am going be building tiny! We're totally planning on building a catio and catrunwalk/shelves
too! (and I'm a photographer) lol
This is beautiful and so functional. When you add cabinets under stairs, it will be purrfect.
The only thing I would do different is build a covered cat box area out on the deck or under the catio. Just my way to keep the box out of a tiny area.
Definitely planning on that!
How wonderful that she learned how to do a lot of the building herself. And I'm a cat lady, so I will be taking tips for the future when I finally have my first home.
She got a great tiny house for that price. I love the additions she made to make her and her cats comfortable.
Good tour and discussion of the pluses and minuses.
Love many of the additions you’ve made your tiny home to accommodate your and your babies’ needs. Agree about doing doors on your steps to be able to move your stored items more easily. Thanks for sharing your home with us! Enjoy!!!
