Patty you have a great tiny home. It’s decorated very well. I love that you still have a record player. And albums. Love the kitchen. The bedroom loft area looks great with that table. Thank you Patty for showing your tiny home.
I love the actual stairs going up to the second story. I don't love the idea of not being able to stand up. I'd need to either build on site or have a slidable second story for enough height. Kudos for a real flush toilet.
Same! I love tiny homes & bus/van conversions specifically. I really want to do a van build out or maybe even box truck or bus so I can travel the US for a year or so. One of my main concerns tho is I'm 6'5 and would have to figure something out to have enough space to stand and sleep comfortably
100% I've seen some nasty photos of molded mattresses that didn't have ventilation. There are special mattresses you can buy that are okay to be set directly on the floor but unless this woman was specifically looking for that, I doubt she bought one of those.
We have a washer/dryer combo too. In case this is of interest to you or anyone else, I have tips for drying. Do small loads. This reduces wrinkles and the washing (yes, washing) time significantly. If the timer says “5 hours” your load is too full. It’s just my husband and me, and I get all our laundry done in one day, once a week - typically 4 small loads. I prefer to use the full wash/dry cycle setting. Take the laundry out 20 minutes after it goes to cool down (CD). When I do this, I open the door and get blasted with moisture, and the clothes feel quite damp. I grab them out and walk to my bed to lay them out. Anything that I want wrinkle-free, I smooth out piece by piece in a pile on the bed. By the time I’m done smoothing each piece, it is completely dry. This might vary for you if you live in a humid area or have humid seasons and don’t use air conditioning. Anything where I don’t care about wrinkles, I just leave it in a loose jumble and it feels dry almost instantly. The exception to this is heavier fabrics- sometimes undershirts and washcloths and certainly towels. In that case, they need a little drying time so I could hang them up to dry. I don’t, though; I just spread them out all over the master bed and they’re dry in an hour or two. So while towels and sometimes undershirts are more hassle, this “take out 20 minutes into cool down” method is so effective for me for everything else, I am very happy with our machine. HTH you or someone else. I realize machines might vary, but it might be worth a try. Cheers.
What people call home can be vastly different whether rented or owned. There is a large number of singles, couples and families living and traveling full time in RVs. It has opened our eyes along with the tiny home movement and cause us to evaluate how much of our home and belongings we really use on a regular basis. I believe ‘housing’ will continue to vary wildly across the country for some time.
I love the kitchen and the beautiful light wood. You have such a variety of areas to live and work. I’m guessing your storage seating areas store your clothes, sheets, towels, etc.
Tiny Homes are wonderful if you can buy yourself a piece of ground... otherwise you are living small but paying very BIG rent! No thanks. These trailer parks are raking it in and have the ability to raise the rent off and on..
I'd like to see the interview of the 2nd family that you show in this intro, the 2 adults and 2 children. I may have watched because they look familiar but I can't find it. I like the simplicity and neatness of Patty's home.
Hello!' I realy Love your video.Your tiny home looks special, I love your bathroom.I like that little sink. And your kitchen looks realy spacious.Your couch is very nice, good job. Be safe and stay warm.😊
remember few years back they talk about tiny house like they can just buy/build the house for dirt cheap and place it anywhere now its going for 600$/month to park it in a community give it a few more years when more and more people have tiny house that land rental gonna go so high you might as well rent an apartment fact is the same land size to park 10 tiny house they could build an apartment for 100 people or more
A lot of people are getting priced out of these communities because their rent has gone up so much. And those who haven't yet better watch it. They will continue to go up in the future, and a lot of the retirees they've attracted are on fixed incomes. Then they've had to sell their tiny homes, often at a loss, and they've thrown away a ton of money on leasing the land and have nothing to show for it.
@@mgarcia2445 yea feel so bad for those people. The harsh reality is many sub urban places are completely abandoned because nobody move there anymore, so how do land developers revive their lands? Now they replace it with tiny house community and have influencers promoting them. Those price are going sky high and it didnt take that long as it became popular very quickly. So now you own the tiny house, but no land for you to park anymore lol. This whole thing is a scam unless you bought a land too
Crazy how tiny homes can be built for $10k sometimes less but now people and companies charge almost $100k… u can buy a rancher house for the same price.
Soon as tiny houses get swallowed up by the short term rental industry, they will no longer provide a less expensive alternative to traditional homes. It won’t be pretty.
Depending on where u are and restrictions, zoning, covenants, lot fees, etc., they were never less expensive IMO. Then, again, I just saw a bldg in NYC with 260SF apts @ $4,000 monthly.
People will always need a place to lay their head whether they be tiny medium or super large. They will always be a need for housing so hopefully people will get land be able to zone it and live in a beautiful small home under $300,000.
Yes it will not be alright but affordable options will always be a great escape for many who are looking to escape the 'metrix' and we are beyond thankful for it.
The mountains of North Carolina aren’t as brutal as northern Michigan but are still very cold with frequent snow. How do you keep your water pipes from freezing? I notice there is no underpinning is why I asked.
lots of interesting take always from vacation place to a forever home - question though - if her son stayed for a week and slept on chesterfield how did he sleep in a space with so many windows / no curtains - she kept going on and on about windows but none of them have curtains or blinds - love the kitchen set up as well as the bathroom - thnx for heads up about the washer / dryer not sure anybody else ever mentioned noise - vibrations mentioned but not sure noise has - am a no loft young senior but still some good take always 🇨🇦🙏
A lot of people live without anything on their windows and sleep just fine. I am one of them. Great windows are a huge selling feature for most people.
I think the washer/dryer combo being noisy....it may just be that specific company/brand. I've seen other videos of folks who like theirs. Sometimes, it's just personal preference.
There’s an extremely grand problem with the economy in this country. When a person who works full time can’t afford to sustain a household on their income, there’s a big issue. Regardless, bare minimum, someone who holds down a full time position should be able to afford to make ends meet. So many people have very little when a handful have too much . The ratio that gap is getting bigger and bigger. These tiny homes aren’t even options for the mass. The balance is so incredibly off it’s causing the problems and housing is just one of the many. The American dream is no longer. 😢very disappointing.
The lot rent is excessive especially if rental income going into the pockets of the landowner. I pay 1000 lot rent for paved roads, water, sewer, laundry, swimming pool, exercise room, dog park, post office, business center, WIFI & cable, community center w huge kitchen, lawn and tree maintenance.,
I love tiny houses, but they do NOT have a small footprint, especially if it is extra to the house you already live in. Apartment buildings are way more sustainable.
Love you. Americans do not say "in the nature". Lets not spread that, haha. Awesome idea and it's kind of you to share your secet for keeping your getaway affordabe.
I love to watch the videos where people actually are living in their tiny homes❤ But these tours of someones extra space for rent is far from exiting..
That’s what I don’t understand! How is living in a “box”, costs $80,000??!! It’s nice, but I’ll live in my paid for home, of which I only paid, $5,000. And with the Government Grant program I was blessed with, the renovations costs, was $37,000! ❤
Looks more like an air bnb vs something made with love and actually living in it. I started watching this channel because of the guy with the box truck build. It was amazing definitely recommend to go watch it. Beautiful 1 of 1 build and it only cost the guy 65k and has almost everything this home has.
Nice although it's easy for her to phrase the lifestyle but not living there full time haha it's an investment and weekend accommodation for her and family which is far off from the full experience of living tiny.
That's because it's just a sleeping loft. You crawl in and crawl back out. It's that way to make the most of the vertical space, in the tiny home, and yet keep the house low enough to clear overpasses, bridges, etc. when it's being transported.
@@princess1king2 I'd figure out a way to sleep downstairs and use the loft for a guest room or some kind of storage space. I'm not a loft bedroom person either.
$600 per month lot rents is too high. I would buy land, put in water tank and septic, add solar. Pay nobody ongoing except the County tax man. The only problem with this tiny house is that it isn't convenient to have sex. The ceiling is too low upstairs. Downstairs has a bunch of windows that need to have the shades pulled down. This would be great for the asexual couple.
Wow 600 rent + electric+ insurance for home and car + monthly home payment and groceries or whatever. I'm not seeing how this is less expensive than renting. Your talking like what....a monthly payment of 1600 or more. I couldn't afford that. No way 😔
Not impressed with this home, noticed holes and dents in the walls. They are especially noticeable in the loft. This is the first tiny home I have seen that I did not care for. Looks really cheap!
Beautiful and chic! But it’s easy when you don’t actually live there. I prefer seeing what’s possible for primary residences.
This one sold me. Love the layout and the wood colour, just great.
Patty you have a great tiny home. It’s decorated very well. I love that you still have a record player. And albums. Love the kitchen. The bedroom loft area looks great with that table. Thank you Patty for showing your tiny home.
Cute e tiny home. Word of advice though, you need at least 1/2inch clearance off the floor to have airflow around the mattress.😎
You are right,I like metal spring bed for the air flow under my bed.
Roll-out slatted floor mats for futons are a potential solution. Agree this is an important consideration.

Nice. I did hear that something to sit the mattress on is necessary for ventilation so that mold does not form. Did anyone else hear this?
I heard that also.
I agree you definitely have to have the mattress vented.
100% I've seen some nasty photos of molded mattresses that didn't have ventilation.

I’m loving the homes with the light colored wood. Looks so nice and clean and organized!
Very nice, sharp and clean - no clutter living. A perfect escape- rental.
$600/month for a parking spot that doesn’t include electricity is still really expensive….
And the worst part is that it's going to continue to go up with time.
Nice, its great as a B&B, or a get away for you.
Beautiful tiny home I wish her all the best for future adventures.

Okay I'm just at the beginning but first of all I have to say this is the most unappealing looking tiny house from the outside I think I've seen😮😮😮😮
Its kind of cheap/unfinished looking. Maybe she kept it bare bones since she uses it as a vacation rental but it is definitely missing something
