Awesome! Scream and Join Hands are my favorite Siouxsie albums/cds. I do own them all and enjoy all of the banshees, but the first 2 are the best of the best!
1993 or 1994, was when I discovered TPRM and the London scene that had gone on 15 or so years earlier. And being true to form, I lent this to a friend and the rest is misery.
There are two kinds of bands that could do "Lord's Prayer" - a band that doesn't give a toss, and a band that thinks itself precious. The transition for the Banshees came remarkably early in their career. In 1977 they were punk like the Adverts, Siouxsie as bratty as Billy Idol (a good thing). By 1981 Siouxsie was Linda Ronstadt. The band would still play jangly chords but it was oh so calculated. Polly Styrene could have been singing about them. But Carcass? that was what it was about!
@lovesGenet I know...why just a few hours ago as I was surfing through the tv, I saw this commercial on the Disney Channel with this three boy that looked eeriely similar to the Jonas Brothers and I was like "WhaT??!! OH COME ON!!! WE DON"T NEED THIS SORT OF JUNK ANYMORE!! GIVE IT A REST!!
@CynicallyInsaneX Yeah, when punk first started, he sported bleached blonde hair that was dyed black on the top and then later he gre it out a little and dyed it strawberry blonde. Come around the time Juju was being recorded, he bleached it to his standard blonde do.
@jhnbalance WRONG! that footage is at the Roxy club in London in 1977 during the 100 days along with Sex Pistols, the Damned, Slaughter and the Dogs, Subway Sect Xray Spex, the Slits etc.....
@martinbrownart Wait, you ACTUALLY knew Kenny Morris?? Wow! Anyways, I wish I could be of better help, but unfortunately I live in the United States and nowhere near the United Kingdom......I don't think he even has a myspace page or anything. I'm sorry.:(
@Hellishhorse Oh don't sound so defeatist mate. I think later works like Juju, Kaleidoscope, and Nocturne among others were just as great along with The Scream and Join Hands. :)
Ah-Jakegothicsnake-You [I think] are a young, shiny eyed, bushy tailed Goth.......I am an elderly, grumpy cynical Punk-being defeatist is a hobby of mine! [Souxsie is great at whatever she does!].H.Hx.

always great!!! It´s a pitty I was born in a wrong decade in a wrong place. I ´d love to participate into all of this
Yeah....it was after 50's rock'n roll, 60's & early 70's rock & psychedelia, the last true creative musical outburst...

I love the little "limbless" dance she does.
This is bad-ass.
Brilliant!!!
Great footage of when The Banshees were at their best with Mckay and Morris.
Best Banshees line up ......... shame they didn't stick together .... The Scream in top 10 Albums of all time ....
yes brilliant
sorry, you're right...my mistake...this is Mckay...was thinking of that bad-shape video with Fenton on guitar.
More, please!
Limblessly in love.
Let me stay in love.
Siouxsie nonpareil.
Also, if I remember correctly at the time Fenton was blonde with freckles...I'm pretty sure that in this vid it is McKay and Morris...
This is McKay. Fenton is in the other Punk Rock Movie clip Bad Shape (April '77 at the Roxy)
Rrrrright.

love you, Sioux! your hypnotic and sexy voice rules! greetings from Buenos Aires, Argentina! ;)
This clip came from "The Punk Rock Movie" by Don Letts. HISTORIC.

Starring Ally Sheedy as the coolest character.

@Khultan Yup, that's Kenny Morris for ya.
@jhnbalance WRONG! that footage is at the Roxy club in London in 1977 during the 100 days along with Sex Pistols, the Damned, Slaughter and the Dogs, Subway Sect Xray Spex, the Slits etc.....
@martinbrownart last time that was checked, he's now running an art museum(or was it studio???) in Ireland.
Fenton was the second guitarist..Marco Pirroni was original
Marco is brilliant and a lovely bloke.
No, that's Kenny Morris. x

the point is, siouxsie stayed true
Very very early it seems.
@Hellishhorse Oh don't sound so defeatist mate. I think later works like Juju, Kaleidoscope, and Nocturne among others were just as great along with The Scream and Join Hands. :)
Aaah Loverly Souxsie-It all went downhill after Join Hands [me thinks]
this is from the Punk Rock Movie
God, I wish my hips were more flexible like Siouxsies. But unfortunately I'm a guy and can't lift my thighs higher than my waist......>_
It's not playbacking, the syncs out a bit.
woderfull! Thats must have been quite early...4 skinny kids on a mission!
Now this is black humor.
you are correct but before she was Madonna as we know her she was in a pseudo punk band. I forget the name of it.
The Breakfast Club
Was this a Severin lyric? It seems to obvious to be a Siouxsie lyric?
Fenton claims to have written a bunch of the 1977 songs and wants his money for them.
Ah-Jakegothicsnake-You [I think] are a young, shiny eyed, bushy tailed Goth.......I am an elderly, grumpy cynical Punk-being defeatist is a hobby of mine! [Souxsie is great at whatever she does!].H.Hx.
It's just you.
is that sid on drums
Ulcerative colitis really deromanticises the body
wtf? um...its siouxsie sioux
lol ok anyways this songs col i love siouxsie and the banshees too bad john mckay and Kenny Morris Abandoned the band but their better off ANyways ally sheedy shes hot in um that movie WAR GAMES~
this is actually pre-Mckay...it's the original guitarist P.T. Fenton on guitar
No this is John McKay with the dark hair. Pete Fenton was blond. (And there was Marco before him.)
Playback? ha ha. I don't think punk did playback live back then, do you?
Siouxsie did it first.
Madonna was in a pseudo fake punk band...as was Bono of U2 not the same band mind you
I don't exactly think of Madonna as punk...not even close.
Madonna was trying to cash in on punk she was not the real thing
No.
Not for me.Sorry....not saying they are bad though.
