    So much confidence from a band & the lead singer if the only Siouxsie 🖤👋

    The band that helped shape my whole life from the moment I first heard them on the incomparable John Peel Show in '77. They twisted and redefined how music could sound in their totally unique way. Thank you, S&TB! ♥

      The Scream is special, but you can already see where the sound was going to go. It's already darker than what was done before.

    Hello
    someone can tell me, this music in 1980 was called postpunk???
    How did the people call this music in 1980?

    • @youjoker9647
      @youjoker9647 10 лет назад +10

      They didn't call this anything in 1980. This recording is from 1977.

    • @Phangmaster
      @Phangmaster 7 лет назад +3

      This is punk. In the UK post-punk refers usually to punk-like music after punk had really ended. Usually bands copying their favourite punk acts, and record companies that missed the boat trying to cash in. By 1980 most punk bands were changing into "post-punk" a softer, less aggressive music.

    • @dominica4799
      @dominica4799 2 года назад +2

      This was 1977. I believe this is before post punk and was actual punk

    Actually very complex sounds:
    Avoids predictability
    Slightly jarring & disjointed changes
    Hypnotic but then non symmetrical structures
    Unpredictable voice bass to treble alternations
    And so forth to lots others too, really timeless & shows how close performance art was to a proletarian sensibility without it needing to be stated.
    However you will not find any such thing coalescing in the 2020s: as unbeknown to the people back then they were being replaced by a more voter-predicable demographic of multi-ethnic immigrants, so culture of any kind was not a factor in any respect for the ruling elites with the power to affect changes thus.

But its a pity the original 4 here dont get it together again to show all these millennial woke posers how it's done.. and yes I'm referring to bands like Idles.. Yuck.. Smelly fkn BBC Radio 6 arse licking yawn creating prcks in their aunties smelly nickers.. Do me a fava!!

      As Siouxsie has stated many times herself, the music business (like every other enterprise Capitalists get their filthy mitts on) is no more than that - a disgusting business. Of course it has become a million times worse since the late 1970s where it's all marketing and boardroom planned shite we consume! Everything's a commodity, including us. I'm pretty sure there are young kids of this age now who would be equally as wild, free, creative and expressive on stage as this brilliant band. They're just no longer given the opportunity. Who knew we'd be wishing for the good old 70s again!
