    The Rokid Max are the company's brand new AR glasses that work as a second screen for a big display experience that makes everything more personal, perhaps more private, and definitely a ton of fun. There are a few particular features about the Rokid Max that I particularly enjoyed, so let's plug a few things in and take the glasses on the road to play media from a smartphone, enjoy a Nintendo Switch or a Steam Deck game, and more!

    Finding out from another video these will do 3D movies makes these a lot more appealing. TV manufacturers have mostly stopped supporting the format, so this seems like a convenient way to still watch them. Also doing 180/360 videos without wearing a full VR headset also seems nice, depending on how well it works.

    I love how reviewers leave out all the juicy stuff cause they either got sponsored, paid, got the item for free, or all of the above.
    Here's what you SHOULD know about the Rokid AR glasses before making ur purchase...
    For starters they are not AR by any means... they attempt to simulate an AR space, like Samsung Dex simulates a desktop experience. Just like how you need a Samsung phone to use Dex you need an AR capable phone for this. Basically all it is bringing up a secondary type of a home screen on your phone but you don't see it because it display ports out to your TV and like Dex your phone becomes the pointer. AR glasses cost thousands of dollars not hundreds. These are nothing more than a pair display port glasses of 1080p /60 specs. That it. A 300 some odd dollar display port sitting on your face.
    Also the "myopic" dials... those aren't true either all they are all zooms for each eye that'll allow it to go further or closer to you...a magnifier if you will... and since it only does distance not panning left or right it causes a blur effect around all four of the corners due to the overlay that you can't properly fix because you can't move them to the right and left like you can with say like an Oculus headset.... which means unless your gaming are watching a movie or not going to be using these for much because trying to read words and letters is not necessarily the easiest because of this partial overlay which tends to bring a haze to characters... these would not be decent for productivity.
    As far as the screen size goes I don't know where they get this whole 120in give or take a few numbers depending on where you're at it from, screen size.... because it's a display that shows up on your face about the size of a 32-inch monitor maybe less... (the picture is smaller than My Samsung M7 monitor.
    These are comfortable to wear despite the fact that in order to see the screen properly you have to put them very far down on your nose, but because u are tethered to the glasses, there's a small fight behind vision clarity and comfort as where they sit on ur face.
    They claim you don't need to use glasses with these but if you have astigmatism you're going to need to and they do not shake hands very well you can't wear your glasses with these..
    Not even an option like Nreal...
    Oh and another thing - unless you know how to read foreign hieroglyphics, you'll get nowhere with these directions as this company is a third party company started out in China somewhere and the directions that you get are only in such.
    These are glasses that were made by a third party company started on something like Kickstarter sold on places like Amazon where they can easily take advantage of a seller that doesn't know the difference.
    These attempt one thing to simulate AR and it doesn't do it very well. As far as a DisplayPort they are meager at best, and you would be better off spending your money elsewhere on an actual portable DisplayPort.
    These are mainly a gimmick you buy for your kids on a holiday to keep them busy for hours with their Nintendo switch.

    • @tams805
      @tams805 Год назад +1

      A lot of that is true, but they are a lot more convenient than a portable monitor.
      They aren't great for work, especially with text, but for portable use they are nice. And at home they are nice enough.

    I have two concerns: A) The screen on all prior AR Glasses was advertised as " 120 inch". EVERY honest tester said it is NOT 120 but more a 24-27" display that is 1 meter away from your eyes. So now that these have "150 inch", it would be interesting to know if that changed drasitically. I want a Big Screen experience and not a lousy 24" monitor... B) I am only interesting in connecting to PC, iPhones (no USB-C as you know...) and PS5. Would all these work with the extra "Wireless Adapter"?

    • @panshy7445
      @panshy7445 7 месяцев назад +1

      I have them…I got them for ‘120 inch’ display on the ROG Ally. Not the case. It’s exactly as you said, 24-27’, I thot mine was broken 🤦🏾‍♂️ which is why am watching tutorials to see what am doing wrong but numerous videos later, sad to say, I did nothing wrong.😢
      All that ‘the farther you look the bigger is just BS…why do I want to look at a 120 inch screen 2 miles away? 🤔🙄
      Still love it tho…keeping it. Not worth $399/$40discount IMO. Plus the image is down low like the bottom left & right corners of the screen are hard to see sometimes. Thot I could adjust like the oculus 2/3 but so far, no luck.

    So according to you, the 200 inch screen is just how it’s perceived due to the presence of scale in the things around us? So when you put that blind adapter, the screen appears small? I thought that having the blind makes it so that you feel like you’re in a theatre but apparently not huh? Interesting.
