    An excellent and informative review. I have a large collection of Pendraken post war armour and more their recently armour for the French 1940 campaign ( I visited the battlefields a couple of weeks ago) and I wholeheartedly endorse your positive comments about Leon.

    What an excellent review. Leon is really a stand up young man and BKC is to date my favorite system.
    Haven't tried this edition yet, thanks for the video!

    Removing hits at the end of the turn is just as important to BKC as is the command system - and works hand in had with it. It forces players to mass their forces (and conversely disrupt the massing of their opponent).

    What’s the difference between the different editions?

    • @WARdROBEPlaysWWII
      @WARdROBEPlaysWWII  3 года назад +1

      They are minor. V4 added optional rules and really tweaked the recon rules. There are some nuances here and there to clarify. Honestly, I would be happy playing with V2.

    LOVE Blitzkrieg Commander series. I wish I could snap my fingers and convert my 20mm and 5mm collections into 10mm. Even just to get half the amount, lol. I got 20mm for skirmish level and 5mm for larger scale battles, but now in my later years, 5mm too small for my eyes and 20mm rarely use. Blitzkrieg Commander is perfect in 10mm

    Thanks for the video. I'll be looking forward to your future efforts.
    I'm new to the game. Just purchased the PDF via WargameVault.com. Hope your videos will help me get my feet under me as I absorb the new rules.
    Thanks again. 👍

    Nice video! I picked these rules up, and started on some 10mm figures. If I read the rules right, there is no op fire during the command phase. Is that actually the case, and if so, does that cause "unrealistic" results at times? I haven't gotten enough stuff painted (and still have to buy some armor in 10mm), so I haven't played it yet, but this is something that concerned me with the rules.

    • @WARdROBEPlaysWWII
      @WARdROBEPlaysWWII  5 лет назад +1

      madDdog 67 yes, there is opportunity fire. A unit (stand) can fire once during the opponents turn.
      In addition, they can support a unit that is nearby being assaulted.

      @@WARdROBEPlaysWWII ah, cool...only remembered the initiative phase reaction. BTW, I just put some armor in my cart at the Pendraken site, but I'll have to wait a week or so before I can afford it. The downside to living off the dreaded "fixed income " lol.

    Can I ask you this? Can you talk about your basing choices?
    If I understand you correctly these are 15mm Flames of War miniatures and terrain. Yet you base the miniatures 2 guys on a base. Can you tell me why?
    I guess this means you can't also use the Flames of War system where there are typically five guys on a base?
    A side question: How well does a US Para based army work in Blitzkrieg Commander? Is it fun to play both infantry based vs. tank-based armies as well as tank vs. tank or infantry vs. infantry?
    I struggled a LOT with the Flames of War rules. For many reasons but chief one being how infantry works.

    • @WARdROBEPlaysWWII
      @WARdROBEPlaysWWII  4 года назад +2

      Lars Leonhard a lot of questions - I’ll make a video to respond.

    • @WARdROBEPlaysWWII
      @WARdROBEPlaysWWII  4 года назад +1

      Also, what are your concerns with FOW? And how they handle US Paras?

    • @LarsLeonhard
      @LarsLeonhard 4 года назад +1

      @@WARdROBEPlaysWWII I played nine games and was generally not into FoW. I really love the miniatures and the terrain and I have a ton of both, but just couldn't get into the game itself. I thought the rules were unnecessarily complicated and convoluted and felt very gamey. Some of the things I didn't like was a mission that had no end, unlimited turns and in one game I was holed up on an objective with my paras and could have won if the game had turns, but my opponent insisted on shooting with artillery that had very little statistical chance of wounding me until he had won. I couldn't leave either, so we continued like dozens of turns.
      Generally scenarios I felt were split between auto-losses and potential wins. If you got to dig down on an objective you had a fighting chance. My only wins were a couple of tournament games with time limits.
      I was not too fond of the close combat in FoW either.
      What I did like were the models as I mentioned and the army building. I loved the v3 books and fluff. I just didn't have much fun with the actual game.
      I have been considering Battlegroup and Blitzkrieg Commander. I am huge Warmaster fan and know that BKC borrows some of the command ideas from that game.
      I hope that makes sense.

      @@WARdROBEPlaysWWII Can I ask another question? When you use 15mm do you add 50% to ranges? I am kinda tempted to try with the standard 10mm range measurements but use 15mm to increase the feeling of a large table...
