- I wanted to show the initiative and command phase of a Blitzkrieg Commander II turn. This rule set is for 6mm - 20mm miniature World War II gaming. It is based on the Warmaster rules and uses a command die system to simulate morale and command effectiveness.
To learn more about my Blitzkrieg Commander II gaming (BKCII) go to my blog at
www.itinerantho...
and at the great Blitzkrieg Commander site with forums:

I hope this gives a good view of how this fun game plays and encourages more of you to give it a shot.
very instructive!
This is one of my most viewed
Thanks for posting. You have greatly influenced my purchasing decision. That is some impressive picture for a cellphone camera, too.
This video helped a lot for me and my fellow WW2 gamer as we played our first game using some 6mm Russian and German armour that equalled to about 2,000 points each and at a good price too. The only thing that kind of tripped me up slightly was how to organise the force for deployment and make sure I wasn't over the limit on units as I took 3 Tiger 1s to battle!
A very nice and in depth video, helped me to understand a few of the important concepts of the game too, I still have yet to find someone to play this game with me though. My 8th Army and Afrika Korps are itching to battle it out!
The stat sheets are printed off his battle group builder (mostly free) and the charts are part of the game and partly some I made, as well as the markers.
If you want copies of my charts I would be glad to send them your way.
Excellent video, big fan of the BKC rules. :)
where did you get all those stat sheets and charts
hey itinerant, i just noticed that this video and TTG's are mentioned on the actual blitzkrieg commander website! you're famous
GunBeryl - 3.5' x 3.5' is my normal table (tad small, but it's easy to set up and use and keep set up. But I set up a con game at 3'x5'. 4x4 would be ideal.
Really liked this on i.h. Do a flames of war video.
Gunberyl but I don’t know Flames of War!
Man, this is shaky cam city.
Those 6mm minis are nice
Thank you
have german tanks infantry and anti tank guns and artillary aswell as a british army group.shermans, a.t.g, artillary and some half track..trees n hedges and the game book wiv many dice..perfect to start your own war or add ons....50 the lot...
Good stuff. Good run down on the Init and Cmd phases. You still playing these rules with Micro scale? I saw your 15mm stuff.
Anyway... couple things: Inf. wouldn't block LOS for the mort due to them being 'low profile', so they can be seen through. Also... Recce units don't 'reveal' a targeted enemy unit in the sense that it is no longer concealed. It simply allows THAT enemy to be targeted for Art./Aircraft, or Mort/IG attacks (so the MG team wouldn't be able to fire on it as in the ex).
no saves. however, they are hit on 5 or 6 instead of 4+
see page 20 on BKCII book - it's a chart - In soft or partial cover (ie hedges,....)
Yeah, I'm amazed at what it can do.
Another quick question (I am still new to these rules) don't the infantry get savesbecause they are behind that hedge, or does linear terrain not give cover to infantry?
Ahhhh ok, that makes sense, cheers for the reply!
So basically during the initiative turn you can just do whatever you want no matter how unrealistic this is in real life....... since they cannot fire on you.....
froggleggers I suppose so, but it’s challenging to get to that point because the conditions have to be just right.
I set up an easy example. I’ve never felt like anything unrealistic was happening. Now that you’ve said this I’ll pay attention to see if this is the case.
what model scale would that be? or how long exactly in inches is the hetzer?
Brilliant. Do more.
What are the minis you are using ( or where I can get some of them)
GHQ 6mm miniatures. It's easier to order direct from them, but a few stores carry them.
Ah ok, I'll have to get myself some 6mm WW2 stuff (I already have 10mm stuff, but I think 6mm is by far the best scale for wargaming :P) Looks like I'm off to start another project... as if I havent got enough on my plate already :s
thank you @waylander1978
One more thing, are those minis 6mm or 10mm?
first set of WWII rules for me, but they didnt work for our group, found some major balance issues with commands of 9 vs 7, the number of commands per turn was almost 2.5 times as many so the low command countries never had a chance, now we played version one so maybe they changed how it works but also funny that a T26 could technically knock out a tiger if you got enough command rolls. I put a comment vs dislike your video, not your fault I dont like the game :)
I appreciate all comments - in favor of the game or not. That’s why it’s fantastic how many rules we have.
I have a laod of German and usa British minis and the rule book.no one to play against though.
Tommy Marshall well - all but a couple of my games have been solo. I'm an only child so maybe that's why I'm ok playing this way. Though I will be introducing this to a couple friends soon.
Some people have played live via google hangouts games like Bolt Action etc. requires some set up but looks like it could be one way of playing.
6mm
I don't watch shaky video with crackly audio.
@John Lenin. It does appear you douche often though.
