I bought one in 2022 and in the same one as yours in Lucerne Blue : jerky driveshaft, too soft suspension even in hardest mode, vibrations in mirrors, not enough ground clearance when cornering, despite weight loss compared to the previous Tigers still gravity point too high, the feel of the clutch is like a dry clutch and not as a hydraulic one. As a matter of fact, I have had two clutch issues in less than 6000 miles : an air bulb formed into the hydraulic system causing almost a standstill : I couldn't almost shift gear anymore and it was very hard to get it in neutral. Clutch lever got very hard (stiff) as well and the travel became worrying . They purged two times at the dealership ( first time at 3000 miles, second time at 6000). My confidence in the bike is lost. Although the engine is not top compared to the GS, KTM or Ducati, it sounds nice and the quickshifter is smooth ... and fast enough to me. Anyway : the bike has nice looks, but is generally deceiving in riding it. No wonder that it doesn't sell well. Hardly anybody buys it. You don't see them around. Missed chance, Triumph !

I bought a brand new one in 2022 reliable but anything over 60mph and you cannot see behind you in the mirrors they vibrate that bad and if you do a 400 mile day you get pins and needles for 2 days in the fingers through the vibaration of the handle bars .

My Mrs isn't keen on the back. She keeps sliding forwards with braking and the foot position means she can't really push against the pegs. The extra weight high up means you have to be extra careful at stops. Also harder for her to get on/off with the top box and height. She is however used to being on the back of a big comfy cruiser which pampers her.

Nice review, Mark. I rode the Tiger 1200 Rally Pro last year and didn't want to get off it, the engine note alone is intoxicating! Seriously considering trading in my Tiger 800 for one- owned the 800 for just 6 months, so the chop-in hit is going to be nasty 😞 PS I recognise all of those roads, you're in my neck o' the woods 🙂

Ahh nice one mate - yeah I’m still thinking about getting the 1200… it’s a beast! Ah that’s cool, do you go to the krazy horse nights in bury when they are on? Superb ride out the back lanes over there from us

@@marksgaragestuff Yep, I was blown away by the 1200. My only concern is the weight, put a foot slightly wrong, and it's going to be on top of you! Even though I can flat foot it, still found it slightly intimidating. Would like to have for a weekend really to test properly. Not been to Bury for many, many years when I worked there. Might have to venture out that way when the weather agrees 🙂

Nicely made review, but I do wonder why folks title their vids "An honest review" As apposed to??This is a bike that genuinely interests me, but I wasn't liking what I thought was clutch slip during your hard acceleration.
It's nice you have a good relationship with a Triumph dealer. My local ones have not been so good. I noticed a big RUclips channel got charged by a dealer for damage to the bike he was reviewing for them, I guess that's when you find out how good that relationship is.
Being older and perhaps less interested in tech, the reliability of all the leccy suspension, keyless and other electronic stuff concerns me. You have to have electronic suspension, no option for manual.

I tested the Duke Multistrada the BMW GS1300 and the Triumph Tiger GT , The Duke was the best looking and a great ride , however the engine was soo hot and would be an issue on long journeys , the BMW was a major disappointment , clunky gearbox is a joke for the money , the Triumph IMO is the best all rounder , comfortable , quick shift is awesome , Hill hold , Blind spot Radar , heated seat and grips , its a great bike and i am enjoying life with my Tiger 1200 Gt Explorer ( even though i dropped it on the first day !! Be warned new adventure bikers , these bikes are big heavy units )

Nice video sir - question, I hear a bunch of comments on the vibrations from the engine being quite noticeable on the foot pegs and handle bars - how did you find it?

@@markjenkins8422 that's a good point but I'm afraid you can't fit them when you have e.g. bark busters handlebars, right? It's only valid for OEM Tiger's handlebars.
