what's your email Andrew? I want to show appreciation for the amount of support you've given my channel - or you can message my on my insta @minthuntercomics
I picked up Batman Annual #11 because of this video, I absolutely loved both stories in this issue. Thanks for the recommendation dude! Love your channel!
Loved this vid. There's a lot of focus on speccing, flipping keys etc, in the collecting world and the attention you give to these stories is refreshing. Another video like this with other random and lesser known stories would be awesome, because these are basically bridges into comics - read a great story in a comic randomly and then you could have found a new hobby. Appreciate the work dude!
Whatever Happened to the Caped Crusader Part 2. Neil Gaiman’s Pros almost put me to tears. This is the definitive Batman issue for me. James Tynion IV’s Batman 93. Best one of the best, if not the best Joker monologues I’ve ever read.
Hey man love the channel. Die Hard Batman fan here as well. Legends of the dark Knight is something I’m working on, but for some reason I haven’t had much luck in my area (Jamestown, NY). Keep up the great content! Also, how do you feel about this future state “Next Batman”?
@@MintHunterComics awesome man that is great thank you. I would really appreciate the opportunity to read the entire run. Keep the great content rolling man, really good stuff!
Swamp thing book is definitely underrated (not overrated!). The dialogue between Green Arrow and Batman during the Kevin Smith Green Arrow run is also excellent. I’ll definitely look out for the others. A Batman Animated Series Video would be cool too. Be well!
My favorites are mostly Adventures stories, stuff by Paul Dini, and early '80s pre-crisis comics. Those are almost impossible to read though since they've never been collected and the entire era before Dark Knight Returns has been discarded. Do you collect the Batman/Superman Adventures titles? I have all of them, including Batman Beyond. They're actually pretty tough to find in good shape, I read somewhere that they were among the lowest selling DC titles when they came out.
I've read 8 of these. I love the Batman/Swamp Thing issue. I always thought Gotham Knights was so underrated. I really liked that series especially the issues Devin Grayson wrote. Great video!
Been afew years since reading any Batman although I did enjoy issue 627 Detective Comics... My recomendation... there are variations of the chemical syndicate that was a fantastic read. Must have read that issue 5 times. Only read one off your list .Gonna keep an eye out for the rest. Watching your series for the last month. Awesome...keep it up.
@@MintHunterComics Cheers. It really is. At the time i bought 2 copies...1 for reading and 1 for my collection. I stopped collecting in 95 as I moved to the middle of nowhere and believe it or not I have only just bought a cell phone 2 years back. Imagine my surprise when i could order on line. Needless to say I've been addicted once again and comics are coming in faster than i can read them. Sad but true. 😆. Only home a few days a week and no time...it sucks....but I have my treasures including ...like you many new Batman titles. At least i know what to do in my retirement. Lol.
@@MintHunterComics thanks for sharing! Great video! I'll have to find the more modern Batman issues for my collection you've mentioned as my local comic book store has most of them in their $1 bins! Can't go wrong with finding comics for a dollar or less!
Batman 500 is one of my favorites just because of the cover in all the different variant but I have read 4/10 I need to read the rest though because the way you describe them makes me feel like I’m missing out thanks for the awesome video!! Almost there to 5k🥳🥳🥳😁
I've read about three of these. The batman 1,000, batman 23 and batman 156. I'll have to give the others a read. An underated batman story I like has to be a tie between the recent Tom king run, issue 61 as the question makes an apperence, and batman with Robin 239
You know what Tom King run I loved? Batman 51-53 "cold Days" some awesome Bruce Wayne courtroom drama. I don't care what people say I LOVED the Tom King bat run
@@MintHunterComics omg yes!!! I loved that too! Was so cool to see Bruce ok the other side correcting batmans mistakes and seeing how the people view batman. That was a really good story. I'm a big fan of Tom kings run. Lil upset that the marrige didn't work but still a huge fan
I had read only the Clayface, Day Robin DIed, and Tec 1000. More of an older stuff guy. Don't know if 368 considered a key due to Jason Todd, but it is best of its era imo. Well written and powerful. Batman #400 was Knightfall before Knightfall, Arkham breakout. It was the last big Batman story before Crisis and a culmination of Moench's run. Detective Annual #4 is a great Elseworlds future tale of the last Batman story. Brave and the Bold had some wild stuff, my favorite was Bats and Sgt. Rock going against Satan/ Hitler in #108.

Great video! I have read 1 of those books; the Batman Annual. It was reccomended by a friend and I still have his borrowed copy. Need to get that back to him since he loaned it to me in 2003! The Max Allen Collins Penguin story in the same book is also very good.
That Celine Dion shirt from teepublic 👀😂👍🏽 definitely loving this tho man people are always worried about “keys” but never enjoy the whole story around it!

It has never been collected as it falls in the middle of the Gerry Conway/Don Newton/Gene Colon run, but was written by Roger Sifler and penciled by Trevor Von Eeden. Worth a read IMHO.
I've read the swamp thing, the orphanage, and the Knute stories. All were very good. Knute was probably my favorite of the three. Reading Bloodstorm now.
I have Batman Annual #11 and often thought that @ 5:49 , looking at the panel with Clayface and his wife that the artist used the set from "All in the Family" and just substituted Archie & Edith in Clayface's mind.

I loved Batman 32 Vol 3. Seeing Bruce and Clark swap costumes and see there friendship at the carnival was awesome. Cant forget the baseball scene at the end either.
I love the idea of giving exposure to lesser known yet really excellent comics. Just because they are aren't valuable doesn't mean they're no good. I have about half of these, mostly the older ones plus Detective #1000. Great to see Steve Englehart, and of course Alan Moore, getting some love!
I read that Tec 439 story as a kid, I was probably 12. It made an indelible impression on me. Funny how a comic story can make that much of an impact on you and guide you though life. He and Tom King signed it and I put it into a plastic sleeve. As we were leaving the convention it was pouring down rain and some seeped into the one end and damaged it. Sigh.

I think Solomon Grundy needs another run with Batman, with all the zombies stuff over the last 5-10 years I’m surprised this wasn’t pushed. I have a Batman/Spider-Man comic, kinda lame, but I love the spawn mashup and the TMNT run. Sorry this was so long and rambling
You're so right - we don't get enough Grundy these days!
