- The San Diego Police Department in California released bodycam footage showing officers tasing an alleged sex assault suspect on July 7. When officers arrived on the scene for an alleged sexual assault call, the suspect allegedly took out a knife when officers approached him. A foot pursuit began when the suspect fled after being tased by the officers. During the pursuit, officers shot at and missed the suspect after he pulled out his phone, which was mistaken for a gun. Eventually, officers apprehended the suspect and took him into custody. The man was treated for minor injuries before being booked into San Diego Central Jail on two charges of assault.

@@Luminan777 How would you have handled it?
@@Luminan777 not really honestly they did a phenomenal job, especially the officer who deployed two rounds at the suspect and stopped once he realized he was holding a cell phone and not a firearm. It's hard to put into words how hard it is to snap out of a sns dump the fact that he shook off the tunnel vision and made a calm rational decision to utilize a his backup and his taser and just pursue was the best option since he didn't seem to be armed. and even in the end of the clip they decided to go hands on and only used what force they had to in order to gain compliance. These officers did a fine job there's a reason why this isn't breaking news because there's no controversy. Amazing work guys cudoos to the officers out there doing law enforcement the right way and taking back some credibility with all the bad publicity out there.
It's a two way street, we get to see People who lie about being victims and actual corrupt cops.
I understand that you're very biased, but we've seen a LOT of corrupt cops thanks to those cameras
Great job San Diego PD - this guy is only alive because of your restraint. The second he pulled that knife, I am shocked the suspect wasn’t shot. Also more proof that tasers don’t work adequately on larger suspects. Ultimately I am glad no one was seriously hurt or worse.
Yeah. I didn't see a clean taser shot though. Seems like not both probes ever hit him at the same time.
@@husbeard well they did, and he dropped, but then got right back up. I don't know how you can miss that.
Baton to the ribs always works every time, never fails!
Any other officer would have shot him before he even grabbed the knife i was surprised i didnt see cranberry juice spill everywhere
if you have a jacket or big shirt, it's incredibly hard to get tasered from a distance.
I don't understand the point of fleeing officers like that, you're just making it harder for yourself and more charges pressed on you...
Officers we have a man attempting to dress as Mario running from police with a knife.
These cops show top tier mental stability, they handled this extremely well and they set the example of how patience and control can lead to so much better outcomes. I don’t have much room to say anything since I don’t know the stress of being a cop, but I can definitely see how well these cops handled the situation.
And no marksmanship
They didn’t shoot him at least, but why the knees and punches when three grown men are now on top of him? I’d support further professional use of tasers over literally jumping the guy in a way that will leave him injured. They’re kneeing his spine and punching his face 6:15. Apart from that they almost had it handled.
@@mistayoutubah you are an id10t man.. either a child or a person who has never once looked dangerous men in the eyes.. this guy PULLED A KNIFE ON THEM... what did you think would happen? They would give him a juice box an talk about his feelings?
Also they missed but still technically shot at him over a cell phone when he was running, which could’ve easily been a fatal mistake, possibly the luckiest missed shots ever for that officer.
@@mistayoutubah tasers can send the heart into shock. Bruises heal.
😒 lady yelling on the background "they are hitting him while he's on the ground "... mind your own business woman!!
Yeah, I heard that "Karen."
Exactly doenst even know what has led to this point
As they should be
She has no idea what the guy was just doing. Threatening people hitting people or whatever. He could have just killed someone and they are taking him in to custody. What yall doing
The Meadowbrook Apts have had a dark cloud over it for years. Two SDPD officers were shot and killed there. These apts are full of gang members.
This guy in all red is a blood.
A picture is worth a thousand words.
Imagine this being at night and you dont know it was a cell phone he is reaching for. How people defend people like this is beyond me . Follow the orders and none of this happens .
They got a big problem with any kind of authority.
It’s laughable to think they can follow orders, blend in, get along. They are trifling AF and disagreeable 100% of the time. Over it.
Guy in the red aint some kinda John Wick figure that can go from running to turning around and shooting an officer, especially if it were night.
@@raymonds.9021 Okay poof in a burka.
They had a situation like this in sacrament where the kid was breaking into cars and he was hoping fences police caught up to him when he was in his own backyard and he turns around on them and points his phone like a gun and gets killed. This is at night. The police officers and family all had to go on protective custody because of the death threats even friends of the cops were having to. Riots and protests for it when the dude acted like he had a gun and got shot
These officers work well together. It was 3 on 1 at the exact time it needed to be. There's a time for shooting and a time for tazing, but there's also a time to take the suspect down and into custody. When they saw that time, they took it. Much respect to these officers. This could have went a different way but the professionalism of these officers prevented that from happening.
Police is too soft on criminals here . Other Countries this Scumbag would be dead by now
They should of shot
This 100% would have been a justified shooting too. These officers did great.
If only more people thought like you
Know when to hold em',
Know when to fold em' ,
Know when to taze em',
Know when to shoot.....
Some translation for what the hispanic lady is saying.
They are hitting him and he is in the ground, call the others, theyre hitting him and he is in the ground.
It's funny how they keep running like the cops will just stop chasing lol
When will they ever learn, what makes them think they can escape law enforcement or judgement? Good work officers
Unfortunately, criminals are emboldened more than ever now because of politicians
its called mental illness, and drug alcohol use
Who is they
@@postbloom9767 blks hahaaha how did you even have to ask? you blind, or dont watch any news, ever
@@postbloom9767 *are
Guy went from getting up to 3 years of charges to almost 20 years in less than 5 minutes, wild
I hope so. I the past he might have got 2 bullets in the back. You probably see why now
If there even would’ve had sufficient evidence to get him on assault. He could’ve pleaded the fifth, got a lawyer, and charges probably could’ve been argued away in court.
Zero brain cells. Never ceases to amaze me the way someone can take a minor infraction and turn it into multiple felonies
God bless all good Cops who have to put their health & life on the line for criminals like this.
