    • @davidkim2005

      Have you tried throwing him a tough question like the ones Ed uses? Maybe if you asked him in front of others next time he says "its tasty", "do you value your taste over an animals life?" (say in a nice way) he will think twice about it from now because he is now put in a position of being perceived as immoral in front of everyone, therefore he will stop being a pain in the ass. Sometimes you just gotta bring out the big guns lol

    • @AtheistEve
      @AtheistEve 7 лет назад +18

      Vegan NonDuality Perhaps, rather than a question, simply saying"I value other creatures' lives over my own fleeting taste experiences" would reduce the risk of getting a fatuous answer. Someone who taunts like that is likely to not care that they happily pay others to abuse animals for their entertainment. It's their form of bravado. I'd rather ask them what painful experience from their past are they trying to overcome by being obnoxious to other people.
      Anyway, we have many vegan options that taste similar or better than meat, dairy and egg options. So the taste argument fails.

If he doesn't agree to this, and/or he continues to mock and/or tease you about it, why not report this to your supervisor.

      TheFettuck, led samsung, Plants do die yes, but plants do not have self awareness. Animals, like us, have this subjective experience of life of being a self in the universe experiencing emotions and love as we explore this universe we are in. It does not matter if parts of our bodies cells die, there is zero evidence that the physical body gives rise to consciousness. This is the mind-body duality problem. You can chop off all the limbs off an animal and reduce its cell count by half but he/she will still have 100% of the same internal subjective self aware experience like we do.

    • @davidkim2005
      @davidkim2005 7 лет назад +6

      led samsung
      Plants do not have a nervous system and no brain. Their intelligence is limited to simply responding to external stimuli. Again, this does not mean sentience. It is like how the cells of our skin respond to sunlight by producing melanoma. This does not mean sentience. It is pretty much a scientific consensus that plants do not have sentience. They do not subjectively experience life as an "I" or "me" like animals do.

    • @davidkim2005
      @davidkim2005 7 лет назад +3

      led samsung
      Them moving towards sunlight is embedded in them just like cells producing melanoma. It's simply a reaction. There is no proof of sentience and ability to suffer for plants. There is obvious proof for animals.
      Fine you win, plants are sentient. You do realize that veganism is STILL the answer right? If you don't watch my video on plants feeling pain

    Most of people make so many different excuses just to eat meat. They such liars and they don't see how they lie to themselves

    • @davidkim2005
      @davidkim2005 7 лет назад +5

      I wouldn't say most are lying. They are just completely unaware of why they think the way they do and why it is illogical. I always like to tell people that veganism is the grand daddy of cultural programmings powers. When you go vegan after having the epiphany of "what the fu** are we doing eating meat?"

    Good on ya, Ed, you rock! You are the carnist whisperer. I think of interesting questions while watching you ask questions and getting the feedback, such as: If people eat animals because they are raised that way, I would love to know what things they can list that they were raised on that they decided were wrong and they rebelled against? Why did they rebel? Also, can they think of a person or other entity possibly being superior to them like someone with a higher IQ or more power socially, would they be okay with being eaten by that person? Also it is nice to see people being honest about what they think in the moment, they are brave to be interviewed. They are processing.

    Thank you for attending the Vegfest in Dublin and sharing your knowledge, you have inspired a generation of people. Your words come from your heart and you make people think about what is wrong with out World. We as humans treat animals so badly. We have to realise we are all connected and we shouldn't be torturing and murdering animals. We also have no right to take their habitat away, we should never buy anything containing Palm fat/oil, the Sumatra Jungle is being destroyed, Orangutans have no voice, we have to speak for them (this is for the Elephant and the tiger of the Sumatra jungle too). Thank you for being the voice of the innocent, your future is going to be a magnificent journey.

    I'm from the Cleveland Ohio area like the one couple and have been vegan for 6 years and vegetarian for 9 years before that and I have no difficulties being vegan. Grocery stores have all the vegan food you could ask for in them because they all have a produce section along with dried beans, rice, pasta and canned foods like tomatoes and beans as well as frozen fruits and vegetables. Most now even has some of the vegan convenience food like plant based milks and veggie burgers, etc.
    True I can't just walk into any random restaurant and trust that there will be things specifically vegan on the menu that I can eat. But often I can use the menu as a starting point and doing a little improv jazz with a bit from this dish, a sauce from another, with some vegetables from a third and come up with something that is quite tasty. I have been out with a group at a nicer restaurant and asked if the chef could do something for me that was vegan. Turns out the chef was herself vegan and made me the most amazing dish that has the rest of the table more than a little jealous (think I heard something wispered about a vegan conspiracy :-). And there are a growing number of restaurants where there are indeed fully plant based dishes on the menu.
    All the excuses are gradually melting away and people will have to finally admit that they do indeed value their taste more than the life of an animal and so fully own what they are paying to be done in their name.

    Awesome job Ed! After waking up to the reality of meat eating being totally unnecessary, it's almost painful seeing how people react to these questions. As for the German guys, I think if nothing else, you have definitely planted some good seeds. I recently posted a video about my own journey to veganism and how it took me a long time. You remind me of people in my life who tried to open my eyes to the truth and I used to make fun of them. My goal now is to use a patient & kind approach like you have.

      Hi, I'm not sure I understand your comment. Do you mean to say that we should not eat those either? If so, why not? I don't have any reason to care if someone chooses to eat these because they are not sentient beings and by eating them, we are not harming anyone.
