Karnid O She means to say that the girl in the video is a bit of a hypocrite IF she thinks that aliens should withstain from eating us, but it's ok for humans to eat animals.
Emily you can’t say that!! You have to play my game!! I set the rules!! You can only answer the way I want you to answer! Not fair. If you are Inconsistent then veganism tho!! What’s that?!? You DONT think aliens should be able to eat us? Then veganism!! You don’t want the earth to burn up?? Veganism! Animal lover? Veganism! Zits on your butt? Veganism!! Drug and alcohol problem?? Veganism?? Homeless? Veganism!! Vegan vegan vegan!! The cure for ALL our problems!!
I wouldn't worry too much about those two. Sooner or later, they will be confronted with the idea of veganism again. Then, they will remember the interview with Earthling Ed and think of the good time they had. They might well try going vegan at some point.
Millions of starving children in India and Africa. Even in the vary country you live in. Where's the compassion for them? Think they have had a miserable life? Why not start there...
Yeah, mate! Pls. bring this imagination on, too! Great way to get the people another point of view! Very efficient. Can't wait to see the reactions of your interviewed crowd!
What would you do if you were trapped on a desert island and not a single plant was edible to you without making you severely ill to the point of near death but there were wild animals that you could survive on would you quit veganism?
I used to be one of those people that thought they 'd never become vegan, mostly because I perceived veganism as an extreme, irrational or even utopic idealism and a sure way to malnutrition. But after taking the time to educate myself about nutrition, what is going on in the food industry and the effect it has on Earth, not being vegan makes no sense to me anymore. And though many will argue that "eating animal products has had a huge factor in our species evolution", even if this is correct, why continue? Why help prolong the exploitation, slaughter and suffering of other beings (humans & animals) when it is not needed for your survival? Especially since science and technology have made it possible to find vegan alternatives to almost everything. Everyone on Earth is born and then dies, so how is it fair for some to live a life of suffering because of you? You don't have to love animals to respect their right to live, the same way that you don't have to like people to respect basic human rights. DEAR FELLOW VEGANS, what I want to get across is DO NOT LOSE HOPE. HAVE FAITH IN PEOPLE. Help them become aware of the facts and conditions, but please, do not be impatient or preachy (even thought it is justified, it is what tends to keep people away from the true cause of veganism). THIS video is how we should approach non-vegans and help those that WANT to change. Many of us had a completely invalid, sugar-coated perception about the treatment of animals, the exploitation of third world farmers, the overall toll to the environment. And yes, DEAR NON VEGANS, the world is still a cruel, unfair place and just me going vegan won't dramatically change anything, nor does it mean that from now on I won't participate in this madness in ways that I am not even aware of. But it is the most FAIR and harmless thing I can do. And to me, that's the point of being vegan.
This was so powerful, it gave me chills and I took a screenshot and I'm going to write this comment on a piece of paper and stick it on my front door. xD
Jasmine Johnson Yes you can. I did after watching 3 hours in one shot on RUclips slaughterhouse videos. I never craved any animal product again. Gross Watch : What The Health , and Earthlings.
It was so freaking frustrating how those two girls just kept saying "I couldn't do it "without having any proper arguments to why. There is literally no rational reason to eat animals except from there is nothing else and your dying
Sallie Andrea They're perfectly rational reasons, they're just not moral justifications. 'Rational' in this context does not require the decision to be based on anyone else's interests or even your own. Perhaps you need to re-examine the meaning of the word rational?
I had such a hard time listening to them too, laughing whilst saying stunned in the head, and trying to argue they are rational. I am 6"1 and a big guy and have been just fine eating vegan for last 7 years. When I hear a girl who is 5 foot nothing and has far less nutritional needs than do, giggling and just saying I can't, not for me. I'm disgusted no other words for it.
wit180 Cannibalism has frequently occurred during famines throughout history. The imperative to survive overwhelms the individual's ethics. It's unavoidable. In the Soviet Union there were times where the state had to put up posters telling people not to eat their children. This happened in Medieval sieges too. At Stalingrad in WW2 after the food supplies stopped, and they'd eaten all the horses, dogs, cats and rats...they turned to human flesh. It's naive in the extreme to think your morals are strong enough to overcome your base animal needs in a desperate situation. Thankfully, we aren't in that situation
I've been vegetarian for fifteen years. I started watching Ed's (and others') videos a couple of weeks ago and I couldn't justify continuing to eat animal products, so I stopped. I've been reading some comments threads and, though I get it, I'm kind if dismayed that some people slate meat eaters so readily. If veganism is compassion in action, then it makes sense to embody compassion in the way we interact with all beings - or at least aim to. Thanks Ed for being an example of that.
You can see it in her face...how she glances away, down, a forced small smile...it's hard to be good company when everything out of their mouths (and into it) is a knife to the heart
Honestly! But the people in this video were great compared to others who get mega defensive and make ridiculous arguments even if they don't make sense lol
unoriginalname04 They really aren't dumb, most everybody has been conditioned to believe what these people believe and I don't think that it's right (or particularly productive) to blame them for that. I don't know about you, but before I went vegan I may have given these exact justifications for my irrational and immoral habits. I think that if we act as though being vegan is this normal thing (which it should be, dont get me wrong) and treat everybody who eats meat like a murderer (which they technically are I suppose), then we are never going to be able to change their minds. That's why I love what Ed does in these street interviews, he treats everybody with respect and acknowledges their reasons why they eat meat, and I feel like you have to do that of you want to change somebody's mind.
you should talk more to older adults who are in their 50s+ and stuck in their ways and see if you can change their minds about the way they grew up eating!
Ed likes to interview ignorant people like these giggly girls because he can't handle someone who really knows their stuff. I would tear this guy apart in a debate.
I really don't expect any good arguments coming from these non-vegans. If you would have interviewed me over a years ago when I was still eating meat, I probably would have come up with some pretty dumb arguments as well. The only thing I hope for from these people is to continue to think about it and find the motivation and compassion to make the difference.
Part of me watches these vids because I love how clearly you articulate the logic and compassion behind veganism! And the other part is that I just looove Trafalgar Square.
I just love how chill these conversations always are, that you laugh with the people you talk to and the way you don't "confront" them, but ask them questions, so they get the answer themselves is amazing! Great work :)
Brilliant video. I always thought this would be the most effective way to explain why eating meat is wrong and have been wanting to test it out on my friends. I'm glad to see you've beat me to it. Can't wait to hear the podcast!
@Muff Muncher You haven't seen enough videos from vegan vloggers. Lots of humor and lots of laughter. For example, some vloggers to check out: "Mic the Vegan." "Bite Size Vegan" I could go on. Not all of their videos are funny, but a lot of them are. Be sure to watch the entire video, since the humor is not always from start to finish.
That's an awesome approach 👍 You're always really nice to all of those people. you have a variety of arguments. You always adapt to the person in front of you to figure out what you should point them out to make them rethink about their eating habits. I really admire you, you are doing such a wonderful job for the cause in such a respectful manner!
You are soo good at interviewing people! And especially when you are coming with this attitude where you are understanding of them and equal, and just trying to educate them and create a deeper discussion. And not trying be narcissistic and appear superior. So powerful
You're so inspiring Ed, you really make people think deeply about things they've probably never considered! I'm slowly making my way towards veganism in my daily life but have taken this week to eat completely vegan and see how I go! I'm loving it so far and have been vlogging my experience on my channel! It was mainly you who inspired me to do this and I would just like to thank you for opening my eyes to the ignorance that consumes our world!!
My family used to raise about 5/6 hens at a time for eggs (never tried to eat them). I noticed plenty of evidence that they had emotions and could make connections. One hen in particular we raised preferred our company over the company of the other hens (she was the youngest and got picked on a lot) and would run up to us and want to be petted when she saw us. Chicks would fall asleep in my hands or lap. They were essentially our pets. Been vegan a while now and I hate the thought that farm animals can't make connections. They can, we just don't give them the chance.
I love birds I have five parrots and also have bonded with chickens and honestly logically speaking and from experience birds are far smarter both mentally and emotionally and even have true sense of humor whereas dogs are just a human product and invention who are stupid and have a slave mentality and cats are just plain stupid with a massive arrogant ego. My parrots are hilarious and actually know exactly WHEN AND HOW they can make me laugh INTENTIONALLY and can sense my mood and instantly come near me to kiss me or make me laugh where a dumbass dog or cat would just sit there waiting for me to feed it like the stupid retard it is. Chickens are no different and are equally smart yet the morons who are the majority whom are also retards eat chicken and cry for dogs being eaten because they sympathize with an animal that they share something in common with. A slave mentality and being absolutely and completely fukin retarded and ignorant with a slave mentality. "Oh boss plz don't fire me. I'm willingly here to sell my time for less than 1% of pennies on the dollar for you and will obey you and accept any abuse and cry and kill myself if you fire me. If u want to fuk me and use my body just by threatening to fire me even though it's a lie I'll obey and do it willingly while pretending to do it out of fear of being fired". Yea these are the people who own dogs and cats

i have a hard time talking to people these days but after watching your videos, i truly feel confident enough, not only, to go out and interview people in my [chicken farming] town but to also gently & lovingly enlighten them as well. thanks ed! happy new year~
I just hope there's some vegan aliens! Reminds me of that classic Simpsons episode when Homer pleads for mercy before the aliens: "Please dont eat me. I have wife and children! Eat them!"
I would love cruel aliens. I'd sell out "humanity" in a fuking instant. I'd want as much scum removed while pleading to only spare those with logic and those who can control their emotions and always think logically before saying or doing anything. Which means I would have them slaughter 99.9% of humanity which includes the rich as well since they're also selfish ignorant morons, and we would all be an atheistic vegan society and suddenly all of us would Finally be at peace and realize what a disgusting scourge and plague we humans were
My favorite part was the footage of the little boy huggin the chickens❤️ we need more of that in our world, more people who are compassionate towards animals ❤️
Thank you so much. I just loved this video. You are so calm and dont lose your temper. I try to talk to people just like this, but I can see sometimes I just dont have the strenght to be calm with this blindness of people. It is so nice to spread awareness, opening minds
I absolutely love what you have accomplished in this video ~ Honored to share with my 4200 followers and 5000 friends ~ just awesome activism and in such a beautiful compassionate way ~ you are stellar Ed ~ blessings ~ mgf
2 minutes in with those red heads and I would have had to walk away, so glad there are people like you in the movement to really talk it out with others and help them make the intellectual steps towards realization.
I really like the title of this video. I'm currently writing a scifi novel in which aliens eat humans (it's like a luxury meal for them in my book). I haven't finished it yet though (will take me at least a couple of months).
AntonioKowatsch I hope you end it with why everyone should go vegan to save our planet. And in the end show every title of vegan video on RUclips that people can watch for free.
Greetings, Earthlings! I am the Zalaxor the Conqueror and we are here to enslave and eat you! Ed: Do you think your taste buds are more important than another life? Zalaxor: Um ...
I liked the girl in the red sweater's perspective; I often hear the argument that its natural for us to eat meat. All though it's an appeal to nature. But no one (meat eaters) ever thinks about how unnatural conditions we keep animals in.
"I'm not strong enough to be a vegan." I wish more meat eaters would admit that. It could lead to reducing their meat consumption and possibly eventually going vegan. Developing aspirations is a good first step.
The response I sometimes use is vegans are not some superhumans with incredible self-restraint. It was much easier for me to ditch meat/dairy/eggs than sugar. I still struggle with salt. I still struggle with establishing a daily running and meditation routine. And I know vegans who struggle to quit smoking. Imagine somebody challenged you to a bet with someone that you would eat vegan for 2 weeks. What's the minimum prize you'd agree to? Chances are you could even do it just for the sake of the challenge if your friend dared you.
I love this guy so much he inspires me to talk to people calmly and rationally you get such a better conversation out of people. I do not know how you keep calm tho when the girl says I just can't be a vegetarian i would lose my shit!
Every time I start talking about veganism around my grandparents (whom I live with) my grandfather mysteriously go momentarily deaf, and my grandpa suddenly has something very important to do elsewhere.
"if they are intelligent they should be intelligent enough to realize they do not need to eat us." BAM
Intelligence has nothing to do with sympathy.
The Joker did you even get what she said?
Karnid O She means to say that the girl in the video is a bit of a hypocrite IF she thinks that aliens should withstain from eating us, but it's ok for humans to eat animals.
The Joker oh you’re just agreeing with him I though you were presenting an argument

It's difficult to watch those girls laugh and giggle when I know that the animals they eat had such a miserable life.
Sophie Stanley funny how you care about a pig then a humans life would you like to be hung?
Tom Davidson they won't giggle when all the misery manifest in their bodies as disease tho
I wouldn't worry too much about those two. Sooner or later, they will be confronted with the idea of veganism again. Then, they will remember the interview with Earthling Ed and think of the good time they had. They might well try going vegan at some point.
Mindless chatter and nervous laughter. So cringe.-worthy.

You are the best vegan street interviewer on the internet! This was so good! Keep it up bro. I'm going out tomorrow to film , this is too inspiring :)
Look at you now Joey :)
Yeah, mate! Pls. bring this imagination on, too! Great way to get the people another point of view! Very efficient. Can't wait to see the reactions of your interviewed crowd!
joint best with yourself

What would you do if you were trapped on a desert island and not a single plant was edible to you without making you severely ill to the point of near death but there were wild animals that you could survive on would you quit veganism?

yeah mate I love the alien argument! "if they're intelligently superior to us, they should realise not to enslave us" made my day. awesome job \,,/
Darragoth Von Seitan thank you
This is exactly the kind of thinking I have. Many of the reasons we give could easily be used against us if a superior alien species saw us as food.
What if these intelligent aliens thought, either they eat us, or we are going to destroy planet earth?

I absolutely love what you have accomplished in this video ~ Honored to share with my 4200 followers and 5000 friends ~ just awesome activism and in such a beautiful compassionate way ~ you are stellar Ed ~ blessings ~ mgf
Great video. Interesting watching the man in the background at 4:50 and how he reacts and stops eating.
*Ed:* would you let an alien eat you
*Random Person:* yes
*Ed:* 🗿
*Random Person:* 🌝
Great interviews! So thought-provoking and we’l done!
Well done, I meant
i love how you added the video of the chicken omg
You amaze me very time! The alien concept is spot on. Great work.
Best comparison I’ve been waiting for you to ask this question to so called compassionate people
2 minutes in with those red heads and I would have had to walk away, so glad there are people like you in the movement to really talk it out with others and help them make the intellectual steps towards realization.
I wouldn't mind Ed enslaving me 😧
Great work, Ed! It's very entertaining watching you destroy all "arguments" :)
Hypocrites, hypocrites everywhere.
that guy's girlfriend was so happy you brought this up
I really like the title of this video.
You're a great interviewer! Keep up the good work! Loving your content
"So am Iiiii" hahahaha
I love these videos dude, great work, have a nice day!
Love, love, love how you posed the alien question to start. So smart. Bravo!
Wow! Great epistemology Ed. Looking to come to London at the end of this month, would love to do some interviews with you x
Beautiful work as always Ed :)
Love ur interviews some of the arguments are so hilarious! When you see people digging them selves in a hole 😂 ! Well done ed
You always do such a good job talking to zombies. x
haha I love these questions :D Perfect way to get people to see from another perspective
Oh god this has been one of your best!!
Again another great street interview ed, well done mate, will deffo take some inspo from these questions!
Another brilliant video ed! :)
People are so intellectually dishonest.
Another great video, Ed. So inspired!
The girls thought he was getting kinky with the whole eating and tying them up thing that's why they giggled.
Genius, Ed! Planting a lot of seeds...
Sweet new dictaphone. Keep up the great work Ed!
I liked the girl in the red sweater's perspective; I often hear the argument that its natural for us to eat meat. All though it's an appeal to nature. But no one (meat eaters) ever thinks about how unnatural conditions we keep animals in.
I learn so much from your videos, I love it !
"I don't really have good arguments"
Yes girl, we already noticed that at the starting of the video
I have in fact heard of these aggressive chickens that attack humans.
Socrates of animal liberation movement :) I’m so glad you exist, Ed.
Lol, the german guy with his strong accent. "Genau!" 😂 I think the german accent is so funny.

I love this guy so much he inspires me to talk to people calmly and rationally you get such a better conversation out of people. I do not know how you keep calm tho when the girl says I just can't be a vegetarian i would lose my shit!
Shannyn Garside He keeps the control over his emotions. That is something many vegans should learn out of him.
Cyril easier said than done
If I hear the words - I know BUT.... from one more person. I am going to rip my hair out. Continue doing a great job😀
He's so intelligent and logical. His speaking skills and patience is lit ❤️
I love you Ed
Well maybe they are? Have heard they like children...little lambs..unleavened bread.
They have no ears - "He who has ears let him hear."
I am a meat eater and I actually find these questions interesting
Every time I start talking about veganism around my grandparents (whom I live with) my grandfather mysteriously go momentarily deaf, and my grandpa suddenly has something very important to do elsewhere.
