I know a lady who grew up on a dairy farm (she says) and she seriously believes that cows always give milk and don't need to be inseminated and give birth cyclically. So, even those who grew up surrounded by livestock can be clueless about the process. I grew up in a town and I knew meat, milk and eggs came from farmed animals.
@AFKnoob Eeeh Kinda. the Problem is that they give little to no Milk when they haven't recently been impregnated/pregnant so it would be waaay to expensive to just let them be not pregnant. Of course the baby cows won't get the milk because they are taken from their mother and won't see them again for their whole (shortened-by-slaughter) live.
Cows won't give milk for the rest of their lives. In nature, they stop producing milk once the baby stops drinking it.IF it's continuing to be milked, then the milk production wouldn't stop. But naturally, cows will stop producing it when the baby stops drinking it.It's us humans that are continuing to milk the cow that results the cow never being able to stop producing milk.
@@naztokgoz So... where's the ethical problem here? If it's a family farm that doesn't sell the milk, it's basically a simbiotic relationship. The cow is safe, fed and given water, the family gets its milk. No pain, no abuse.
Miguel Dinis I see your point, but those foods are not quick and ready to eat usualy, its big macs and cheese burgers that people can grab and eat on the go
@Muff Muncher Well if you ask someone who eats meat why they eat meat, it will probably be because they like the taste. They would probably also argue that it's more convenient as they could easily get fast food as it's very accessible.
@@MrFooChops The good news is that more and more fast food chains are offering vegan options, and there are more and more vegan products in stores which are quick and easy to heat and eat.
Muff Muncher if there is no moral or scientific justification, other than being at the incorrect latitude (lack of tubors and other plant food) with no other option but starvation. Then yes, Ed does destroy their arguments.
me too. I have videos on my channel. where are you all situated in the country? I could help direct you all to the right groups if you want to do some activism.
Ed, I have to say the way you handle these social situations are amazing! Always keep your cool and ask thought provoking questions. You have an educational answer for everything the public comes up with and hold them accountable for their own choices.
Wow! I love these interview/ vegans vs meat eaters/ street activism videos, they are so inspirational! And earthling Ed- I love that you are so kind and humble when you speak to these people, you don't "attack" them, but you just "come in peace" and have a normal, calm conversation, and that's so inspiring! Keep on doing what you do! :D
Great to see you on the streets again, Ed....I'm glad you're using some of the suggested questions also; the question I like is "Are you for or against animal cruelty?", and then riff from there....the guy at the end at first didn't understand that question (but that was a language barrier issue), but then you started to chip away at his thoughts on subject...look forward to part 2....
I find this so interesting. Reminds me of how different we all see this world... And how what some people see as obvious..others are oblivious to. Scary
Great video Ed, always such an inspiration, I really try to apply your method whenever I do a Cube, but I still don't manage to use the Socratic method like you do or keep my cool. You are such a mentor!
The disconnection doesn't come from not consciously thinking about the fact that animal products come from sentiment beings but from not caring about that fact.
As always, wonderful video! Perhaps we'll see that young man doing street interviews in the near future, trying to bring awareness to veganism! He certainly seems that he's well on his way to becoming vegan. ☺️
I guess most people just don't want to look like ignorant fools and lie. Maybe they do buy free range meet ocasionally but not as often as they say. Or maybe it's just a coincidence and they actually do only buy organic meat.
Why can't people talk about these issues without becoming hostile? How can you not explain or defend your way of life. The ignorance and unwillingness to learn and embrace evidence is beyond horrifying.
You can see how excited ed is talking to the pescatarian because she's actually following through his questions and slowly thinking more about her ways. This is how people change. By being questioned and thinking about their daily mindless actions. you can tell she never thought much about eating fish. But now I bet she'll look at more information about it
“You don’t need to love either humans or animals to think that is wrong to disregard their interests and inflict unnecessary suffering on them. Every ethical person ought to be able to see that, even if they have never had any contact with animals. And if you do see that, you ought not to be complicit in the industries that are built on inflicting suffering on animals, just so that we can consume their flesh, eggs or milk as cheaply as possible.” Peter Singer
good lord, even if that idiotic idea that "we would die without animal products" were true i would happily go vegan and allow us humans to die off so the Earth could live in peace lol
False anology, the caveman example leads to "is tribalism acceptable in modern society", as even in caveman times racism and sexism where not a thing. They are modern day extensions of tribalism.
haha. we can even notice than ed himself learns a lot by making these interviews. he's really in "listening" mode when he's interviewing those people. he's like a sponge and then computes everything that was said and sees what arguments would work best on that particular person. :)
If there was a vegan pop up stand at my state fair, I would love to work at it. Last time I went there wasn’t a single vegan option, so instead of splurging on food I bought a cool sweater. French fries are the only thing you can eat at a state fair, and most restaurants. It sucks, I used to love going to the fair but there’s no point for me anymore cause it glorifies animal exploitation in nearly every direction you look.
ethics are subjective. main thing the vegans forget. they assume same as religious people, that ethics and morals are some objective, never changing thing that is universal
Earthling Ed that's amazing ed soon we can all become great activists just like you and help revolutionize the world. there are so many videos for non vegans but not many for vegans
If you have to justify something - like cruelty - then you know that its wrong from the start. The word "justify" comes from the Latin and means to make a right... so to justify is to make a right out of a wrong...
@Dhruva Punde everything alive can carry pathogens. even humans. zoonotic diseases are pretty common.. should we kill all mammals when we encounter them because they can carry rabies? but care about other animals that dont? i cant think of any animal that cannot carry some type of a disease that can hop to humans. so by your own logic, we should kill them all, while preaching about how its wrong to eat them
The questions aren't hard. They are extremely easy. What's hard is looking in the mirror.
VeggieMal HAHA so true!
VeggieMal this comment is on point yessss🙌🙌🙌
VeggieMal well I guess they are scared of what will be looking back at them

@Darko Ulmer I’m afraid that industrial is the norm these days.
why would convenience be an excuse if there's fruits, vegetables, legumes etc in every supermarket
Miguel Dinis I see your point, but those foods are not quick and ready to eat usualy, its big macs and cheese burgers that people can grab and eat on the go

K. Shredder Ed uses actors for all his videos and they are also scripted, don't be fooled so easy.
cattlewrangler walsh really? How do you know?
"I think its impossible"
"Its impossible??"
"Uhm.."
"even though no one knows what happened - it still happened" (16:26)...
This is such a powerful statement from a vegan perspective!!!
Cavemen tho.
As soon as I saw this in my feed my heart did a backflip. Your activism is amazing Ed! Thank you for your patience 👊
I like how peacefully you approach people.
Ed you've become an expert at these interviews! I love it! keep it up, your a huge inspiration for me 👍🏼✌🏼️

love it Ed, always admire your style of interview. i send my love from New Zealand
Shai Whaanga unfortunately I don't , I assume there's not much of a vegan movement in NZ due to the extent of farming in our country.
Im in NZ too
We should 69
dirtynipples26 we should save 69 animals is assume is what you are referring too

Thank you for your compassion and patients. Great work!
loveanimalsbevegan *patience?
that's what I meant. thank you :)
Dr. Ed healing the world :)
Your street interviews are my all time favourite videos!!
I love how nicely you talk about it, but I'm even more impressed that you have the courage to talk about it at all. It's an uncomfortable subject.
Ed, I have to say the way you handle these social situations are amazing! Always keep your cool and ask thought provoking questions. You have an educational answer for everything the public comes up with and hold them accountable for their own choices.
You are so respectfull to these people. That is so good:) I loved these interviews! Thank you for your activism
Can't stop watching these vids lately! You just can't logically argue with any of the excellent points he makes. Such a fantastic guy!
You are the Man Ed.
Love Your Work.
Thank You.
Great one! People only find these questions difficult because they don't want to face the reality of their actions.
Nice, I've been waiting for another one of these street interview videos.
Ed, your questions are really planting seeds! Keep up the great work.
Thanks! :)

Brilliant to see these videos again Ed! ✌🏻️💕
Not sure if it was intentional or not, but the choir that began singing at 7:40 was beautiful!

Me tooo!!!
You always know how to take control of the conversation when they start to get akward haha
Take a shot every time the second woman says “Yeah”
Great job man, your street interviews are the best !
"What do you think is a justification for taking an animals life then" WOOOOOO!! Great question haha!
Perry Ellis, in what way are they useless? Aren’t disabled people useless in the same way? And what do you mean by “that’s how nature works”?
Utility.
Unrelated but the choir in the background sounds beautiful
I find this so interesting. Reminds me of how different we all see this world... And how what some people see as obvious..others are oblivious to. Scary
I couldn't deal with some bs ideas and beliefs people have like this guy does... we need more of this kind of activism.

how is it that most people ed interviews claims to buy free range and such? where I live, people don't give a damn about those labels!
I guess most people just don't want to look like ignorant fools and lie. Maybe they do buy free range meet ocasionally but not as often as they say. Or maybe it's just a coincidence and they actually do only buy organic meat.
