It's useful if you have a rogue period. Rogue sneak attack can be used once per turn, not per round, so Commander's Strike gives you the ability to grant your rogue a second sneak attack every round

Being an archer battle master is actually a lot of fun. I like to imagine that when they use frightening attack, they attack the haunted shopping list from that one SpongeBob episode to their arrow and fire it at someone.
Battle master plus Sentinel is also good. Tripping attack on an attack of opportunity basically allows you to temporarily immobilize foes (they're knocked prone and their speed it reduced to 0, meaning they can't stand up until their next turn)
You showed the picture I use for my elven rogue, and then you used a screenshot from my college. It is one minute into the video and I already feel attacked.
Commander's Strike is great if and only if you have a Rogue. Since Sneak Attack applies by turn rather than by round, Commander's Strike allows your Rogue to get another sneak attack a round since the Strike is on your turn. If you don't have a Rogue in the group, then go with something else.

A Battle Master Fighter with any kind of Rogue is a nightmare on the battlefield. You can make a sneak attack any time you have advantage against an opponent, you can also make a sneak attack on any opponent who has one ally of yours within 5 ft. of them. Maneuvering attack to get an ally within range, or trip attack to make the enemy prone, after that you go to town on them.
Great work as usual but the skits were so much better, like the timing, edition and sound quality. Dont play a lot of rpg but this videos are so much fun, keep up the good work!
The best use of Commander's Strike I've seen was in an early Matt Coville streamed game. The party consisted of a Rogue, a Wizard, a Monk whose lowest rolled star was a 15 in INT, and a Battlemaster who joined the campaign late and was 4 to 6 levels lower than everyone else. He learned really quick that his best possible contribution in battle was to sit back and let the monk do all his flurry of blows nonsense each round, and then on his turn order the monk to do all that nonsense again.
Were they playing a house rule on Commander's Strike? By RAW, it only allows the person you "command" to make one attack as a reaction, so the monk wouldn't be able to use flurry of blows. It would be statistically be better to use on the rogue because of all the extra d6 they would get from sneak attack damage
@@SteveMan92 I think he was just attacking, but when I say this monk's lowest stat was a 15 I really mean Colville said several times that the monk player rolled about 3 18's during chatacter creation. His one extra attack with all his bonuses and the superiority die was more than the underleveled average stated battlemaster could do with his own attacks. Also I was pretty sure rogues can only sneak attack once a round. The rogue was already doing that on his turn.

Did you just make a fucking r6 reference.
Plus you get cs:go gun skins for ya crossbow
Commander's Strike is amazing when used properly. It can be used to get more sneak attacks out of a melee rogue, or allows another smite from a Paladin.
"Where you going...?"
"Someplace else!"
...
"Fighters get hungy."
Are you telling me that the NBA is full of Battlemasters??? YOU'RE TELLING ME THAT KING JAMES IS A BATTLEMASTER... time to theory craft.
Dear Runesmith and also Jacob: Not sure if it's part of the joke, but that bow at 6:09 is both upside-down and strung backwards
Battle masters are fun. I love using the maneuvers and taking control of the pace of the fight. Plus coming up with plans involving my maneuvers makes me feel big brain.
"...we have a bard?"
lol this hits close to home with the campaign I'm currently running.
My current character is a 11th lvl open hand monk and 4th fighter battle master and the fact you made both videos within 3 weeks has made me very happy. 👍
Relentless only applies when you roll initiative at the start of a new battle, not every turn because that would be broken.
I basically exclusively used Rally, I never had much use for the other ones when I got to play, I used that and cover with a sheild to be tank that kept his nearby squishies safe, which was good as I was the only one with an AC over 14 and our cleric was prioritizing damage spells like a bootleg sourceror.
1:10
Guess what
*He's even MORE powerful in Age Of Calamity*
I like how he knows what a feint is and chooses to still portray it as just fainting then attacking
6:45 *Laughs in Fiora*
Mr_Dragon nice sasuke amvs
Idk where thats from but I like the name I might use it for a world thx 👍
@@sewershaman3280 I wanted to give it a try a few years ago. Windows movie maker was pretty bad at using the anime footage though, it kept corrupting randomly while I'd work on it.
@@itzplant3196 Fiora from league of legends. She has a "parry" move that stops all incoming damage and if you tried hitting her with crowd control like a stun she stuns you instead.
D8s? Eyepatch? I see you Vriska, you ain’t slick. 2:14
3:38 saddest scene imo
6:13 he is holding the bow upside down
3:30
kensei be like
Every time I saw the Feint Attack I kept having flashbacks to the Hunters Feign Death In WoW...
Fun fact: The Battle Master subclass in 5e was inspired by Sokka's master in Avatar: The Last Airbender.
You guys are great! Thanks for all the learns and laughs! The very end with the voice over and names. Killing it!
“and then he gave birth to you”
6:08 - using bow upside-down for extra comedic effect. Love it👍
6:10 the bow was upside down lol
It's also not properly strung. That makes it even funnier
I scrolled through the comments for 5 minutes to make sure I wasn't alone in the bow observations
A Battle Master Fighter with any kind of Rogue is a nightmare on the battlefield. You can make a sneak attack any time you have advantage against an opponent, you can also make a sneak attack on any opponent who has one ally of yours within 5 ft. of them. Maneuvering attack to get an ally within range, or trip attack to make the enemy prone, after that you go to town on them.
you made all the battlemaster maneuvers look like crap 😂
Great work as usual but the skits were so much better, like the timing, edition and sound quality. Dont play a lot of rpg but this videos are so much fun, keep up the good work!
"And then he gave birth to you."
Uh, dad, how?
Appearntly your dad is shape shifter. He is actually your mom.
Man im loving your little live action bits there amazing. This channel just keeps getting better and better
dude, you actually have an awesome voice. I'd love to hear audiobooks read by you
The best use of Commander's Strike I've seen was in an early Matt Coville streamed game.
@@CitanulsPumpkin once per turn, not once per round
so using a reaction to get commanded by a battlemaster would work with sneak attack
