@@doubler8684 Yep. A number of things made Zeppelin unique vs. most every other band. First, with the possible exception of Queen, there wasn't a more tight-nit band than Zeppelin was, IMO. Second, even though the band's first album dropped on 1968, nothing about Zeppelin's debut album sounded like it was from the 60s. That's when one realizes that ALL of Zeppelin's music was/is timeless, and sounds great in any era.

That's Sonny Boy Williamson II. Funny how Zeppelin are often accused of stealing from old blues songs. Nevermind that is pretty much the history of blues songs. And then we have the case of Mr. Sonny Boy Williamson II, who took the name of another blues artist. The designations SBW I and SBW II were later given to distinguish them.

I'll give you a bad Zeppelin song: "Hats off to (Roy) Harper". Sonically it sounds like a cat being tortured, and has racist lyrics to boot. If they had left that off of Zep III in favor of "Hey Hey What Can I Do" (which was a B-side from that album), it would have been an absolutely perfect album. As it is, I stop the album before that song comes on.

Lex possibly experiences synesthesia much more than most people. When she says the guitar sounded "citrusy" Brad goes along with it awkwardly, correcting her with "zesty", perhaps thinking she's weirdly poetic. But it could be that when Lex hears various sounds, she naturally connects them with particular flavors, smells or colors. Often people who experience synesthesia aren't really aware of this quirk as they think everyone experiences senses the same way, so they take it for granted.

Around 1958/9 the stream of rock music from the US dried up and British rock fans searched the music stores and discovered blues music. When they started to play their own rock it was a fusion of rock and blues and led to the music of the early 60s that eventually became the Brit invasion of 1964 into the US.

LZ was my first real musical PUNCH IN THE FACE I got when I was 14.
Our music teacher allowed us some free time at the end of each course to bring some record we liked to have the class listen to it.
And this time it was LED ZEPPELIN II
