The slow part at the beginning and end is an almost note-for-note cover of Sonny Boy Williamson II's song of the same name, but the loud part in the middle is original to Zeppelin
I love when Plant plays the harmonica, him singing behind it, gives that neat deeper tone. I know Page Plant & Bonham all 3 really loved the blues, they couldn’t wait to buy latest blues records that came to England. Yes more blues rock, but always sounding amazing. With their whole collection, you’ll love far more songs, then ones not to your liking. I’ve loved them about 50 years, & there’s a couple that aren’t my favorites, not that they are bad either. Most bands might have a couple songs on an album that you love, & many more not your favorites, that’s what makes LZ better then the rest.
this is a willie Dixon tune - He was born 1915 in Mississippi - Zep got most of there early stuff from the delta blues - Stole a lot of it actually - Still love them but check out Robert Johnson - Zep lines all over the place
They put their own twist on all their songs. They were doing things the legendary blues artists never did. Would you say a rapper stole a song if he uses lines other rappers used. Naw you say it's paying homage. What about when they sample huge chunks of established music ? Naw you call them master mixers

They weren’t stealing it nor were they appropriating it you dense dolt. From their own mouths I’ve heard them attribute more of their inspiration from “black” American blues than any other artists or genre. It’s called sharing and growing together. The beginning and end of that song were adapted as an homage to Dixon and said it was a tribute to him. How TF is that stealing? You should stick to Skynyrd, simple man.
