The 80's were perhaps the most underrated musical decade EVER. So many great songs came out during that time and this entire album is remarkable. Robert doesn't get the credit he deserves for his solo career.
I saw Robert at Red Rocks when he was on tour for this album...let me tell you to hear this song especially with the view of the city of Denver and the stage lights. I close my eyes everytime I hear this song and relax and remember! What a great show!
That's awesome. I live in Arvada Colorado and the absolute best shows I've seen are at Red Rocks. It's a venue with actual magic built in. It's an almost spiritual experience there
The clean Stratocaster shows every nuance of the player, nothing is lost, nothing to hide behind. If the player knows how to utilize those nuances it is spellbinding.
I don't think that "The best driving son" exists. There's a couple of them, depending on many factors. I love Gary Numan's "Cars" as bad as Kavinsky's "Nightcall". They're nothing but the same, but they're both great.
This song left a lifetime memory as I was driving with my family through Joshua Tree , Ca while listening to this amazing piece , driving us home . ❤❤❤
I remember watching this video as a 15 yr old and being entranced by the haunting sound and lyrics. Wishing I could drive along that road and see those sweeping vistas. This while living in SE NC. Low and behold some 31 years later I find myself working in Amargosa valley at Marijuana growth facility in the middle of nowhere and what do I stumble upon. Even made it to the Opera house on the California side. I was commuting from Las Vegas but unfortunately the Glass Pool Inn featured in this video was demolished 2004. To say the whole situation was surreal would be an understatement.
This plays on the radio in Grand Theft auto V, and it's an amazing song. God bless Robert Plant, and this incredible music. The '80's was an amazing era, and it's music that won't come again. Cherish it.

This is the one song I wake up to every morning ❤❤❤🎉🎉
I was barely 10 years old in 1982..... Van Halen, Madonna, Motley Crue, Ozzy, Duran Duran. Journey, Depeche Mode, Michael Jackson, Genesis, Eagles, Alabama, Herbe Hancock, Steely Dan, Def Leppard, Boy George, THE BEST ERA OF MUSIC hands down. Early 80's was the result of the 60's and 70's Blend of pure creative ORIGINAL MUSIC.

The magical lyrics of Robert Plant - love the clean guitar sound.
Fabulous 🌷
Yes its remarkable
I wish he would bring back Robbie Blunt and lose the Americana thing.
❤
One of the most beautiful, romantic songs that I've ever heard. That guitar instrumental is out of this World!
The guitar from heaven.
Nearly as good as Robin Trower.
Guitar on this by Robbie Blount I thought!?
@@ramjamflimflam You are 100% correct. It was In through the Out Door album that Jimmy hated his playing on. I'll delete my incorrect comment.
@@ramjamflimflam thank you for that! Seriously I've always loved the guitar in this song and have always referred to it "the mystery guitarist" and now I know.
Robbie Blunt DIGGING into the strings of that out of phase strat. Epic !
Robert plant is a gift to the art of music. So much range in everything he has done, he just keeps moving, he’s so good
well to bad his,,attitude,,changed and no reunion with the living guys of Ledzep!!!
I don't know why but I am in love with this song in 2020. Pure perfection

Oh my God, i was listening to this song DAILY as a child when i was 10 (born 1987) and was completely in love with his voice and this music, loved this song soooo much!! Didn‘t see this video, didn‘t know, how Robert looked like and had an image of him created in my own mind on the basis of his voice😅
I remember listening to this with my mom when I was a young boy
Now here I am in my 40s still listening
Because of my Mama
I miss you Mama 😢
Still listening with you in my Heart ❤️ 😢
Closing my eyes, feels like driving Los Santos coast at sunset. What a song, match it perfectly with GTA V!
Definitely a cruiser along the Pacific coast hiway. Rog. Pacific sunset records.
As a So Cal native, the scenery looks more like an inland desert valley. No matter. It's perfect for driving north on Highway 1 to Santa Barbera.
"Sports cars, neon lights and lots of cocaine, ah yes, the 80s..."

He smiled at me once. Cold morning in Dublin. Unforgettable.
It's amazing the career he's had. I hope somebody preserves and fixes up all the video qualities and of course the audio also. This guy is going to have a huge area in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame for people to enjoy decades and decades from now

Drove through this exact same gas station / motel in Nevada about two months after this was filmed. The owner was still talking about it and selling promotional RP posters.

It's 12:32 a.m in Oxnard California (USA) and its super windy out here
Someone that can enjoy sun and rain is most certainly living on their terms . Nothin bad about that!
This song is one of the most Sultry songs I've ever heard in my lifetime. Its just timeless and words can't describe the feelings it brings out in human nature.
YES!!! Such a sexy melody!
The emotion of doing a Road Trip . No Destination. Free
Hardly can find such an artist
Thx Robert! Great Song!
I remember the hot summer that this song was popular...I would drive to the next county to visit my losing-interest-quickly sweetheart, and digging the breeze of the air coming in my open windows when the sun went down... whenever I hear this song, and Springsteen's "I'm on Fire", a song with a similar sultry feel, it takes me right back to that heartbreaking Summer

Robie Blunt on guitar , Jezz Woodruff , Paul Martinez , Cozy Powell . Even featured Phil Collins .
I was five years old when this song came out and remember this video on MTV. My father had an old roaster car and he installed a tape deck radio in it and had this song playing all the time. Dad gave me this album as a gift and told me I would appreciate it when I was older. Thanks, Dad, for the memory of when we got along easier and good music. Amazing how music takes you back to a simpler time.

The 80's were perhaps the most underrated musical decade EVER. So many great songs came out during that time and this entire album is remarkable. Robert doesn't get the credit he deserves for his solo career.

I don't think that "The best driving son" exists. There's a couple of them, depending on many factors. I love Gary Numan's "Cars" as bad as Kavinsky's "Nightcall". They're nothing but the same, but they're both great.

Masterpiece this song is, Robert Plant did such a wonderful job with this
I remember watching this video as a 15 yr old and being entranced by the haunting sound and lyrics.
Where was the glass pool? I thought that was at Scotties Castle..
