LYRICS
I'm in the mood for a melody
I'm in the mood for a melody
I'm in the mood
I'm in the mood for a melody
I'm in the mood for a melody
I'm in the mood
I'm in the mood for a melody
I'm in the mood for a melody
I'm in the mood
I can make you dance
I can make you sing
I can make you dance
I can make you sing
If you want me too
Oh, I can make you dance
I can make you sing
I can make you dance
I can make you sing
If you want me too
Oh, I can make you dance
I can make you sing
I can make you dance
I can make you sing
If you want me too
Any little song that you wanna to sing
Any little song that you wanna to sing
Any Song will do
Any little song that you wanna to sing
Little song that you wanna to sing
It's up to you
Any little song that you wanna to sing
Any little song that you wanna to sing
You're blue
I'm in the mood
I'm in the mood
I'm in the mood
I can write it on the door
I can put it on the floor
I can do anything that you want me for
If you want me to
Do it right, do it wrong
Cause a matter of fact it'll turn out to be strong
If you want me to
If you want me to

Thanks for shaping my teenage life in the 80s Mr. Plant. This song still means so much to me in many ways. Thank you
you are keeping too much distance from the love we have to give you what gives
This song takes me back to the most fun times in life
I know why you’re holding that lemon there, Robut Plont!
The CowPalace/this song. I confess, i did it! Lol!
love you, bro, what do you think of Greta van fleet?
Born in 1977..but i 💜 this era of music
The best era. Check out Danger Danger Feels Like Love. A treat 🎉🎉🎉
Born in '64
but I dug '77 😁
You make it sound like you were not yet born when this came out.
@@free322001 this record was from the mid-80s so Rob would have been young, but alive.

Thus the album 'Now And Zen' which includes this ethereal track❤..
@@Cablecol No....................the album this is from is called The Principle of Moments. Now and Zen came out 5 years later.
Break dancing to Robert Plant..wont see anything like that nowadays..RIP unity👊🏽
From a 50 yr old trying to figure it out still, i do know we in the moment have the ability to change. One minute, one hour, one day, one face at a time.
Let's hope so
Real🫡
@hueybomb2016 - well observed. Tribes are too easy to break apart - e.g. it just takes a few bad-faith actors among our rulers, and it's broken. The togetherness experiment has been tried in several places across the world - & it is a terrible failure.

The drummer on this all-time classic track and all-time classic album is none other than Phil Collins 🥁
He sounded fantastic here too.
Dang, that's right! Forgot about that. Kind of odd that he doesn't appear in the video.
Imagine that!! I should have known that but I didn’t, so thank you for that 🙏!!
What an time period. I know things weren’t perfect but boy were they so much simpler.
Wow didn't know! Awesome. Collins is a true legend too
It was absolute pleasure and honor to spend my teenage years in the 80s
I was a twenty something during the Go Go eighties. 😊❤
Yes it was!
Diitto!
Yep. I was 10 in 1980. Started playing drums in 1982. Found Led Zeppelin and THC in 1983. Found Jimi and LSD in 1986. Moved out and got my own place, found Miles, Parker and Coltrane in 1987. 1988........Cocaine is a hell of a drug!!!! Still kicking and searching songs from the 80's in 2023!
I was younger and still listen to this
Thanks Phil Collins for your drumming. A music master!
Top 5 drum songs for me.
There are certain 80’s songs that give me an overwhelmingly painful and bittersweet sense of nostalgia. This is definitely one of them.
The 80s. What a time to be alive. You're not alone. Keep rocking.
Definitely
Same here, buddy.we are so blessed to have grown up through such an innocent era. What i wouldn't give to go back there. I was a junior in high school when this tune was released. Liquid harmony this tune is.🌹💖
I feel what you’re saying too. My gut goes bananas listening to this.
Always in the mood for 80s
If you've been rocking this one for decades, raise your hands please 🖐️👍✌️

I remember when this song released and I thought it was AWESOME.
42 years later...still AWESOME.
42 years omg🫢 me too. My first boyfriend had a MG Midget. I'm 5'9 so if we were in the mood for a melody it had to be outside the car😂 🎉🎉
We had it SO good in the 1980s and we didn't appreciate it. 😢😢😢
I loved EVERYTHING about the 80s! Best time to be alive!
@maureenmartini5094 i mean rampant hiv/aids, the cold war, profligation of terrorists, people dying of starvation in record numbers, the lack of advances in general medicine, cars getting 4 miles per gallon, the literal holes in the ozone layer, no cell phones, an overall difficulty for black people and women to find equality of any kind, and i general a higher violent crime rate across the board for most of the planet....
... but boy it had some cool songs here and there! Put your rose tinted goggles down, the 80s sucked lol. Your nostalgia doesnt make it better
@@maureenmartini5094oh and a lack of internet for you to reminisce weirdly about a time period that really wasnt great for *most*

I know this is an 80's song, but one of my fondest memories of this song was driving through some isolated territory in Arizona with this song on the radio, the windows rolled down, watching the sun go down, and just "being".

As an 80s metalhead, simply one of the best songs every recorded. The solo, the vocals, the drums, the snap of the snare, the crispness of the cymbals, the clarity and funk of the bass, the guitar tone, the chorus, the backing vocals, the esoteric keys at the end. There's just some songs it's just kind of hard to imagine what the world would be without an artist getting an amazing band and making it a reality.
As a fellow metalhead of the same era, I liked plant's solo work right out of the gate. None of my friends liked it, calling him a sellout. I knew then that actual adulthood for me was right around the corner.

The guitar sends you into a trance to hide the fact that there are no lyrics. He repeats every line 4 times. The Beastie Boys think that's too repetitive.

ROBERT PLANT, if you read this, I want to THANK YOU for your music, both solo and Led Zeppelin. I am a black old school music lover. My 3 closest friends in high school were also black. This was early 80s. In the 9th grade we all were Led Zeppelin fans. Our school was 95% black. In the 9th, people thought we were weird for listening to Led Zeppelin. By our senior year, we had the whole damn school into Led Zeppelin! Our school marching unit even played Cashmir! One of my favorite clips of you and Jimmy Page is in the movie THE SONG REMAINS THE SAME when you all are playing the feedback, your voice and Jimmy with the violin bow, just ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!!!!!! I gotta hear that now!
To say that this song was ahead of its time is a understatement. Wonderfully composed. Well written. The guitar work on this melody is phenomenal. One of my favorite songs.
Understatement, damn so creative in comparision to the herd sheeple favorite being underrated.

Pop-locking + Break-dancing + Robert Plant + Phil Collins = A masterpiece. I'm sure Mr. Plant could already start to see that even in it's fledgling state, there was something about hip-hop that was interesting and exciting that was never seen or heard before.
This song is sooooo underrated. Love it!
THIS IS A MUSICAL MASTERPIECE. AN INCREDIBLE SONG. ONE OF A KIND. VERY SOPHISTICATED.
This Plant song like much of Led Zeps work was ahead of it's time, it took years to unlock the true classic status of this song
glad 10 of you get it! There is some hope.
oh yeah- it should be just 'its'
Such an awesome tune, as so much of Plant is from this era. But I respectfully disagree about it being ahead of its time. It is very much of its time, brings me right back there every time I hear it, as does Big Log, Little by Little, Tall Cool One, Ship of Fools...All these and more were beloved in their time, I can remember as if it were yesterday, damn where'd those days go...
How bout the nod to the lemon song

The Birth of MTV was nurtured by these artists ✊ 1983.

I can never listen to this song just once. It evokes so much from the depth of soul, especially that almost silent, pregnant moment where the song climaxes.
This is one of the very best songs of the entire 80s. I loved it when it first came out and it still never gets skipped when it comes up on my MP3,
One of the best 'bedroom' themed songs...
Man, I must have seen this a million times on MTV when it came out. And that was just the first month! 😂 Needless to say, they played the hell out of it.
My all time favorite Robert Plant song. All time
This song makes me recall so much from my childhood. My mom having the radio in the kitchen tuned to KY102 in the mornings while my family got around. This song always put me in a good mood:) I'm 44 this year and I lost my mom 3 years ago and my brother last year, but this song is still just as soothing to my soul as it ever was in childhood.

I like how you honor their memory. I also honor lost loved ones in similar ways. When you're a music lover and it flows through your veins it's hard not to feel most of your emotions through music. Grief being one of them.

This is one of many reasons why MTV was so damn good in the 80's - Why the channel was so successful. Because of brilliant videos like this. There was a time when a lot of thought went into creating videos...ahhh, those were the days...
Yes, before drama and "reality TV" settled in....
So what happened to MTV? Was it that music videos didn’t make any money? I guess not or they would still be running them.
thee4thdoctor I remember MTV actually playing ONLY music videos 24/7. As a family we would watch videos for hours on end. MTV sucks now!!! On X-mas we would have it on MTV all day.
I completely agree with your statement. I am also impressed by the fact that you use the 4th doctor as your logo. For me, David Baker will always be "The Doctor".
Do you mean Tom Baker?
Do you know that Mr Plant went to the deep deep South and studied our "Blues". He has always been in love with the blues and it definitely shows. Go back and really listen to Led Zeppelin and you can hear those blues in almost every song they wrote and did. Wonderful! They were and still are the best. Robert Plant still is. I've only loved him since 1969. Everyone wanted and tried to sound like him. No one ever could! He is one of a kind and the best! Thank you for your talent! Love and peace...

A lot of Led Zeppelin fans don’t like solo Robert Plant, but his solo stuff was original music.
And that's when I became a fan.
He was better as a solo artist
True, and it's sad. Zeppelin will always be one of my favorites. It seems like a lot of people wanted Plant to somehow keep making material that was a rehash of what he'd already done with Zeppelin. Kind of how some people seemed to find Johnny Rotten's transition from Sex Pistols to PIL to be too jarring.
If you don't like Plant solo shit, you're not a Zep fan. 📠
Being a kid city boy in the 80s and being mixed race and seeing these breakdancers, let's just say RP was waaaaay ahead of his time
Even in the quietest moments. I remember sweet memories of my family and friends Amen.
