- THE ALAN PARSONS SYMPHONIC PROJECT “LIVE IN COLOMBIA” - AVAILABLE AS DVD, BLU-RAY, 2-CD DIGIPAK, 3 VINYL GATEFOLD AND DIGITAL
On the evening of August 31st, 2013, a large crowd gathered at Parque Pies Descalzos in Medellín, Colombia. When Alan Parsons appeared on stage, along with the Medellín Philharmonic Orchestra and his band the audience went wild. This is an audio visual document of that incredible evening.
THE ALAN PARSONS SYMPHONIC PROJECT “Live in Colombia” is available now on earMUSIC as DVD, Blu-ray, 2-CD digipak, 3 x Vinyl, and download.
Alan Parsons was 19 years old when he landed a job at the world famous Abbey Road Studios, an important first step on his journey to becoming a world class engineer, producer and artist. Following his beginnings with George Martin and The Beatles, his contribution to Pink Floyd’s classic ‘The Dark Side Of The Moon’ earned him worldwide attention. As a producer he had many hits with Pilot, John Miles, Ambrosia and Al Stewart. Together with his manager and creative partner at the time, Eric Woolfson, he developed the Alan Parsons Project.
Following their debut album “Tales Of Mystery And Imagination“ (1976), they released a series of hit albums; namely “I Robot” (1977), “Pyramid” (1978), “The Turn of a Friendly Card” (1980), “Eye in the Sky” (1982), “Ammonia Avenue” (1984), “Vulture Culture” (1985), “Stereotomy” (1986) and “Gaudi” (1987).
Then Parsons and Woolfson called it a day, but Parsons had ambitions to perform the amazing music live. Now to the great delight of his fans, for the first time on a live video and audio recording, THE ALAN PARSONS SYMPHONIC PROJECT combines the talents of his amazing band with the lush sound of a 70-piece symphony orchestra, creating a very special show with unmatched quality. Together, they revitalize hits such as “Eye In The Sky“, “Don’t Answer Me“ and “Sirius“.
The lineup consists of Alan Parsons on acoustic guitar, keys, and vocals, P.J. Olsson (lead vocals), Alastair Greene (guitar, vocals), Guy Erez (bass, vocals), Danny Thompson (drums, vocals), Tom Brooks (keyboards, vocals) und Todd Cooper (saxophone, guitar, percussion, vocals). Alejandro Posada conducts the Medellin Philharmonic Orchestra

Have absolutely loved Alan Parsons Project and their entire music genre since their debut in late 1960s or early 1970s. My English class talked in depth about how orchestrated members in the group transitioned between sets they performed. All very, very well done by all in Alan Parsons Project. Magnifico!!!
thank you for great Song

Alan Parsons was the sound engineer on The Beatles' Abbey Road and Let It Be and Pink Floyd's The Dark Side of the Moon... no wonder his own music is so timeless. Wow.
Yes, Dark Side of the Moon.

I'm right with you brother. Maybe we will meet on the other side.
So true.
Friend, life here is only the beginning of the journey.Yes, it passes by quickly and sadly we are all guilty of not "stopping to smell the roses"....so take that vacation you dreamed of, take that parachute jump you thought of doing, mend that friendship you abandoned years ago, and find that love that you only see in the movies!! If you don't take hold of your dreams while you still can, they will simply stay a dream. Cemeteries are full of dreams and inventions that never came to fruition. Our time here may be going by and we can't change that....we can however change what we accomplish in that time. 🚊🪂⏰

Totally ❤
There's no amount of technology that can replace music played by humans. People can connect to the emotions they project. Machines can't duplicate emotions.
It does, but you have to work a bit to find it. The record companies chose to push image over talent long ago.
You’re right this is great music.
Alan Parsons, Mike Oldfield, Jean Michel Jarre, Pink Floyd, Gazebo, Alphaville are at a complete different level.
Absolutely brilliant. Music like this doesn't exist anymore.

As long as Alan Parsons is making melodious art, it will keep on existing. Wish Alan would do a project with kd lang. She writes some awesome musical poetry and is another whose vocals and musicianship is amazing. She has collaborated with many greats and if she would create some music with Alan, it would be magic.(Yes, I believe in magic, Alan. Especially from a musical wizard as yourself! ;-)
My family went to see Alan Parsons Project in concert last night in Denver, Colorado. It was a fantastic show with great energy from the singer’s. We were told Alan had back surgery in July and he was moving a little gingerly. His band members helped him when he transitioned from keyboards to guitar which was nice to see. We had front row seats which was amazing! We purchased their new album box set with LP, CD, & DVD signed by Alan.
Thank you so much Alan Parsons Project for a very enjoyable evening.

The begining is awesome and full of mystery like the twilight zone. Then it moves out into the open like a tidal wave and turns groovey.Over all, a masterful piece of music.
That transition between Sirius and Eye must be one of the best transitions EVER - bloody goosebumpily weak in the knees FANTASTIC!!

NO music today even comes close to the music of the late 70's and early 80's! The older I get, I have much more appreciation for the music of those days. Songs told stories and had melodies that were just as impressive. Not many folks will remember today's songs in 40 or 50 years like we did songs like this!

das beste Alan Parsons Konzert EVER!!!
one of the best things about my 51 years old is the fact, that i lived my teenage years in the 80's !!!
that is priceless and I am grateful !!!
We are living in a period of history that is almost totally devoid of cultural expression...I feel so bad for the young people...they have missed out on the rich musical and artistic expression of previous generations. Really...what do they have in their lives? Rap and shit reality TV...it is a desperate state of affairs. They sit inside playing computer games and having nothing to say to one another...apart from posting pictures of themselves on Insta...pretending to have some sort of meaningful existence...it is massively depressing to witness. We have failed the young generation.
So true, Stephen!
I was only in my early 20's when the original "Eye in the Sky" album came out and now I am in my 60's. It quickly became one my favorites and remains so to this day. The music this man created is timeless and will never be forgotten.
I couldn't agree more. I'm 69 now and I have this album on vinyl. I played it a lot back then but rediscovered the band again recently.
With musical geniuses like David Gilmour and Alan Parsons, many of their live performances are superior to the original studio recordings, (imo). The production quality is just so superb.
I remember shivering with fear and pleasure, listening to "tales of mystery and imagination" as a teen... when reading Poe. From that moment on, I was in love with their music.
I hear you my friend I was at a midnight showing for led Zeppelin song remains the same and Voyager and what goes up came on and I asked the guy sitting next to me who is this group singing this wonderful song and he said it was The allen Parsons project. Very next day went out and bought two albums but I in the sky and the album that this song Voyager and what goes up was on if I'm not remember correctly it was called project pyramid.

As a 71-year-old boomer, I was 30 when this was released in May 1982. I also remember discussions with a few of my HS buddies if it was worth the hour's drive south. But a summer store clerk job and being 17 when the drinking age in NY was 18 at the time got in the way of Woodstock on Aug 15-18, 1969. Remember, all we had was AM/FM radio, printed newspapers, TV, and word of mouth said it wasn't going to be that big a deal. Oops!

It's an early morning in November and I am searching and found this song. There is something about a foggy morning as s gentle breeze lifts a blanket of fog into a slow motion cloud. The moon has crept through a bank of trees and cast its silent glow on the new fallen leaves. The sound of a voice of a softly spoken chorus can be heard as it magically floats through the early morning dew. ❤

Mi marido desde el cielo me tiene que sonreír cuando oigo la música que a él le gustaba....con Spotify ahora es súper sencillo, voy casi siempre con los auriculares puestos......

Classic, timeless song. I saw AP in the round in Phoenix two years ago. I found out after the show he would be coming out to talk to fans, sign t-shirts, etc. There were only about 75 of us lined up. Understand that this man's career has been a primary soundtrack to my life going back to before high school. As I shook his hand, I felt this overwhelming emotion sweep over me. I was just so grateful. Through my faltering voice, I managed to just get out "Thank you...for everything." He was so gracious and cordial. Really good guy. He signed a shirt for me. And btw- it was probably the greatest concert I've ever seen. A truly magical night.
