Praying for all drivers to find a better job to provide for their families ❤
Yep I had to leave truck driving, I wasn’t making any money to pay the bills, I hit rock bottom for trying to find a job too late and maxed out all my credit cards because of it. Starting truck driving was the worst mistake I ever did.
My thoughts exactly the same.
I Wonder why this companys from india keep buying trucks and hiring foreigner drivers and pay chip thas the problem foreigner companys. And from serbia companys too.

There are hundreds, maybe thousands, of foreign imported drivers in the US. That did not need to happen.
More than that easily 10s of thousands all I see is foreigners and young ghetto black guys
They usually fire the most seasoned drivers that are topped out in salary. The ones near retirement.
Companies can pay foreign drivers for 29 cents per mile😮save more cash
A company I was with in the past I won't name was getting rid of guys they had for years and hiring new drivers in paying them more. Why do companies do that ?
Yes it did, they are replacing the industry with ALL third world workforce.
I’ve noticed the influx of immigrant operators immediately following the pandemic. And because of it, I went back to school for my comptia A+, networking +, and Supply chain management to prepare a transition to get out the truck!!!
Yeah I guess that’s something that immigrants won’t, or can’t do because it requires actually learning English, having a place to live without it being the truck or driving a truck, money to go to school, and the actual work of it without making money right away. Good idea man hope it goes well for you
Just be careful. Ai can do that job better, faster and cheaper

Anyone ever travel I-30 from Little Rock Arkansas to Dallas and notice that the highway is full of Canadian trucks rolling west? There are a lot of foreigners in them trucks. So my point is that there was never any shortage out there
I live in Texarkana and yeah they’re everywhere. And all the Canadian trucks are operated by Indians. Same with most of the reefers out of California
So where the Hell did this HUGE truck driver shortage go? This country is done. FJB
Oh so trump gonna save everyone 😂

I been saying this for years .. since they started talking about “shortage of truck drivers”

I'm not surprised at all and I saw this coming. I've been saying for the longest time that there are WAAAAAAY too many damn trucks on the roads. It really irritated the hell out of me every time there was a report on the news about there supposedly being a driver shortage.
It’s on purpose
Just had this conversation with a driver a few days ago!!
I drove Trucks for nearly 30 years before I retired a few years ago. The industry was always claiming that there was a driver shortage of several thousand drivers. WTH is going on now?
Lies to reduce the pay.
@@specialed6357that’s it, very simply put. Those articles were and still are being put out by mega carriers and the govt. they want to make the pay so low it pushes out independents and small carriers who don’t get big discounts on fuel, etc, aren’t self insured, don’t buy trucks/trailers in bulk, dont pay their drivers low, and who want to give drivers more freedoms. It’s so that everyone works for a handful of mega carriers, and they have much more control of the industry, they don’t have to control 10s of thousands of entities, but just a few. It’s been too much of an independent industry for them. It’s also they don’t want people having their own business after 2, 5, years or getting rich from trucking in 5-10 years or more, without having assets or generational wealth beforehand. Same reason they’ve went after small businesses in general. They don’t want a bunch of small companies with a bunch of millionaires who have built up wealth, and in turn power, for themselves and their families. They will let the established mega carriers keep it, have very low profit margins, and everyone driving for a mega making 35 cents again
I said it before: The damn shippers and brokers are the problem.
One day there will be a food shortage
And not enough trucks.
@@chrisborey1734there already is 😢

Exactly. Everyone will end up at a mega carrier making 40 cents, that’s the goal of the gov
We tried to tell them it wasn’t a shortage and they created this hype that helped cause this
The fast food industry is on the verge of killing itself. The trucking industry has been on life support since the 06 recession. Unless a young person knows how to weld or install carpet there is no prospect for a future in America.
This just further illustrates the big lie about a truck driver shortage.
Scam industry.
Megas are self insured, saving lotta money.
If you think paying the damages their drivers create is saving money you're insane. Also ask Werner about being self insured when they get sued by the at fault driver.
@@prayingmantis3916
Could anyone anticipate the Werner judgement? I couldn’t. If they insured with a carrier, their rates would reflect the judgment. Theorize why oh why megas are self insured? Hmmm? Btw, Werner judgement hasn’t passed appellate scrutiny - it was wrong, but all carriers include it in rates.
@prey Being self-insured actually allowed them to hire a new driver straight out of CDL school. The high cost of insurance for a new driver is the reason why some companies require one to two years of experience. Many mega carriers have repair shops for damaged trucks, enabling them to pay lower wages. They capitalize on the fact that most trucking companies avoid hiring new drivers from school, saving money. Moreover, incidents can be recorded in a driver's DAC report, making it challenging for them to find new job opportunities, leading to longer retention and lower pay.

The mega carrier advantages being self-insured, besides fuel one of the biggest costs for owner operators is insurance.
Actually, it's driven by losses. Very large companies of all kinds will often have servicing insurance company that handlehandle claims processing on a contract basis pay the clames out their own reserves and have excess insurance for unexpectedly bad loss years. So over x dollars in losses are insured. Expected losses of about 1 million a year? The expected loss is called the burning layer. You might have excess coverage starting at 2 million with a limit of 50 million or 100 million . That true for . Mary large companies

I’ve been licensed since 96’ and trucking has always been cheap, inflation is hurting everyone and trucking rates haven’t equalized for this; it will not either.

It is simply capitalism. The laws of supply and demand. The low hanging fruit needs to be put out of business so the rest of the industry can thrive. Why every Tom, Dick and Harry thought they would make good truck owners is baffling.
There should be more owner/ops and Les drivers the mega's wouldn't have as much control
@@kevinwilliams552it will never happen

It is baffling. Most are just lazy and don't want to drive but collect a cut. In that case, if they are getting a decent cut, they consider themselves good truck owners. 🙄
@@Alpha-Scythe23 I'll agree with you there most drivers are to lazy and dumb to drive and maintain a truck
Fuel prices are number one. Second is the companies that do it for less. The market has to make a correction as well. When you have an abundance of drivers /companies , the ones who can do it for less will win.
yeah these shippers sometimes double book loads just to see who picks up the fastest
Mail contract drivers could count on always having a job but not so anymore. The post office is canceling contracts right and left. My husband started in 84 on a Pittsburgh to Denver route and got a letter last week as of May 18th the route is no more and these guys are done. This isn’t the only route Midwest Transport has lost either. Other contractors have taken big hits too. The problem is all the postal changes aren’t really working out and virtually anyone from my understanding can pull a load now without clearance. Luckily my husband is 66 and this is happening near the end of his truckin days. These new guys getting in have a rough road ahead of them and it sure isn’t what it once was.
My son was 10 Roads. Same thing happened out west
I too work for Midwest and have friends with 10 Roads and have seen a massive loss in contracts. We don't know when the phone is going to ring and your boss tell you that you don't have a job anymore. I tell everyone that we need to contact our congressman and senators to investigate this but no one seems to care. I have tried but I am only 1 person. This needs to be taken seriously
It doesn’t help either when guys don’t show up on time, or show up at all to pick up their load at the PO when the trailer’s ready. On relay runs not only is that person going to be late, but so will everyone else on waiting on that trailer. That has happened more times than I can count. Then there are the issues of worn out equipment causing breakdowns and having to put trailers out of service. If there isn’t another good one on the lot, he’s had to wait hours for another run to come in, get that trailer unloaded then reload that one for him. A new owner took over Midwest about a year ago. She has truly put her heart in it and did some good things right off the get go. Unfortunately, not long after buying the company she had to deal with some serious health issues of her own, an unexpected death in her family and then the contracts started to drop like flies. We really feel for her in this situation because she’s been one of the best to work for.
@@melindajotingley35 We had a great team on our Memphis to Philly run and the only time we were really late is when someone needed off and the contracted the load out and they would not show up on time and throw everything behind. I think it was done on purpose because the foreigners knew that the contractor failure would fall back on us and not then. This made our record with the post office look bad so we lost the contract and now the foreigners are running it
You’re probably right. The original Pit Den drivers were always on time. Some of these guys began to retire then fast forward to not be able to get people to work. Then when you did need time off, there was no one to cover so contracted it to someone who didn’t care. My husband went to work and never asked for time off because he didn’t want to put the company or co workers in a pickle. At least he got a heads up.
How come nobody wants tell what the shippers are paying. They said Q4 last year 😂
I’m noticing drivers wearing head turbans. Some are noticeably foreigners.
Because nobody will stand up and no cheap frieght
Their was never a driver shortage. I drove 12 years in the 90s and early 2000s at both a mega carrier and a smaller regional carrier. I got out of the trucking business. I’m now electrician because I realized that it was all a game with their trucking schools and constant headlines about driver shortages to lure people into this business. I realized the only thing that would protect me is knowledge and skills, so I started an apprenticeship and I’m really glad I did. I hold a masters license now, work 40 hours a week for way more money and sleep in my own bed. I recommend everybody else look for another way to make a living too.

From being out on the road it seems like most of the owner ops are from Eastern Europe or the Middle East which amazes me because you wonder how they got trucks after only being in America for a short period of time

American companies pay drivers a wage from the country of origin that the driver is from, through a work visa. They earn below minimum wage. These trucks also come over the border on dual registration permit.
If a driver can't speak English they can't read road signs.
I have seen this before big companies take over service the fences parking lot other trailer i can go on they wont be happy. Dont give up yet.
I don’t understand how during the time when products and services prices are inflated to all hell higher than they’ve ever been but some how rates for hauling all the expensive shit are rock bottom
In the dirt rates?
So basically we are seeing the same trend that has been going on for the past year and a half or so continue?
awhile ago i read there was 1500 trucking companies started per week during covid it also stated that most of them would fail but it would take till 28 to stabilize
The question is...how many of those companies that started originated from outside the U.S.?
Start off by shutting down stupid ego for fraud. They are a useless waste of space just leeching and ripping off so many drivers, stupid drivers but still, hurts everyone. Taking 4000 loads a day to help no one besides a handful of people in Serbia. Wtf is that?
In Texas, I see many foreign drivers from the DR, Cuba, Venezuela, Mexico, Honduras…and many other countries. Taking loads for pennies on the dollar 💵
