I’m so tired of the reeking DEF, and we all know people waste gallons of coolant and DEF *when* emissions parts fail. I’d rather just have efficient engines without the emissions crap. I wouldn’t want black smoke coming out of my truck: that’s just wasted money… but emissions are an even bigger waste of money and just as harmful to us and the environment.

Drivers from other countries or drivers for large companies that are already compliant won’t stop delivering to California or NYC over parking and emissions regulations. You’ll just lose any perceived advantage as an owner operator by refusing to take loads. They won’t change the rules over a small percentage of trucks refusing to show up.

NYC is okay if you never get off the expressway. I’d hate to have to back into those docks right there on that street where you were talking and that guy was missing his front bumper. Chicago is only the third largest city and it was a pain there trying to deliver cheese to Battaglia because you have to back across 4 lanes of traffic just to get into the parking lot but at least you’re in the parking lot before you have to dock the trailer. At least there’s a wide yellow striped patch of road between the traffic lanes heading in opposite directions so that you can set yourself up between Eastbound and Westbound traffic or whatever and only have to cross over two lanes backing into the parking lot. I’d hate to just pull up on a 4 lane 1 way road and then just block 3 or 4 lanes getting set up. Easy to back in if traffic cooperates (just a long straight back) but that’s the problem. Any time you’re backing across a road the cars will take advantage of you being out of their lane and start freaking out if they have to stop. And then you have to have like 5 hour left on your 11 and 14 hour clocks before you get off the expressway because it might take an hour to get anywhere, at least two hours to finish up at the customer, and another hour to get back on the expressway, and at least another hour to get to somewhere where you can park. And that’s on a good day. You could use your whole clock up if you go there at the wrong time of day and your personal conveyance to safe and legal parking might be over an hour all by itself to New Jersey, Connecticut, or upstate New York (outside of New York / New Rochelle area completely).
But if you’re just going through NYC on the expressway no big deal. Last time I was through there I took I-80 to I-95 and crossed the George Washington bridge 45 mph speed limit and bridge labeled 12’11” and all and since it was Sunday morning and still dark outside there was less traffic than rush hour Milwaukee Wisconsin or Chicago Illinois. In and out no problem. And it was still nothing but cities from the last 50 miles of New Jersey to the first 50 miles of Connecticut. The next time I go to Connecticut I’m being routed around the NYC bypass instead of right through the center and maybe I’ll hit rush hour on a Wednesday but at least it’s not Time Square or that other place with all of the dock doors right there on the street.

I lived 3 miles from the border of New Jersey and only high valley of Pennsylvania. I ran daycare for years. Brooklyn Bronx queens pretty much all the 5 burrows. Everybody that did. It has their own stories. I have a few. I cannot tell you here on social media. But sometimes it becomes your life or theirs. They will go as far as trying to slim gym. The locks on your cab. While you're on strapping a flatbed and they have all kinds of other Tricks. Such as the trying lead you into a dead end to hide Jack your load or steal your truck. Connecticut is no better blinding fog and the same as New York car No problem cutting off a truck, including in the middle of Manhattan, making a right turn what a special load or a stretch flatbed and have a sports car And make a left turn under your trailer. You've seen it in your right mirror you've heard the exhaust and you're hurt, and you're hurt and you can't believe it when it came out from underneath your trailer.
The father you go nor the worst it gets. Upstate, New York now that's a different story in the Canada. Nice, nice, nice people. Problem is some of wrote you gotta go on, aint on the map? They give you a radar detector. Don't fire a beam at your follow. These blinking lights and you go up some logging road. 30 miles or more in the middle of the night. Listening to a bunch of beats till you come across 2 guys in a pickup truck. That's a nice day. I'm too old for that New York day cab s*** Back when I was in the military, I was in good shape.
Well, things happen . Shut down. I always may should get back Oday one time, but a nasty cut on my left hand defensive room. But it was 4 on 1 with some medieval weapon. The police know all about it. You know, New York? Oh I didn't see nothing. I don't know enough. But when you actually point to a detective, you say I want to talk to him. There are all ears and they'll do all they can to help you out. I really can't give me more details about that here at this time.
But my dispatcher and the owner to cut me. When I showed him my wounds and came back with some of those mini ball weapons? There's they couldn't believe it. In fact, in the day off with pay and I refuse to go to the hospital when my hands stitched up. D*** they're cut down to the tenders. After all, that knife was about 4 foot long. That guy was swingi would swear. You could cut a pig in half with it. I don't know, go to New York anymohell. I don't even want to go across the river. My truck didn't get a portion place to New Jersey and I'm 12 miles away from New Jersey. I often joak beans that I'm in construction if Then bridges phone a river. Don't call me to fix them. New Jersey can stay on the other side of the river and I'm not jokinever mind.
The fact I have relatives over there. Well I don't have time to go back 30 years and this is the wrong place. To say there's stuff that goes on.
But everybody that didon't tell you. Things that are hard to believe.
You think you're gonna go there and do it? Okay, see you later. You're gonna run into it

Tips for NY ! I did it daily as o/o for 3 years. It’s tough. Never take the George Washington. Even if it’s 26 extra miles , it’s too expensive and takes an extra 90 mins. Try to use a day cab if you can ! Be prepared to get out and check ! And bring $20 spare cash to pay a kid or homeless guy to block the roads. Best time to go is to position yourself at your delivery by 2:30-3:30am and get out by 5:30am !!!

As long as drivers are a bunch of cowards, with no balls or a backbone, states will continue to create discrimination laws against commercial vehicles. I haven't been NE or CA in over 11 years. And that was because of the NE tolls and CA's bull Sh it towards trucks.

Well, someone has too to move that freight in and out of the city and around in it. Most of those truckers are probably just local and / or regional drivers, and they are used to all that big city stuff and rules and traffic and how to deal with it.

Can we get them to mandate that trucking companies make sure that their trucks turned back on after 15 minutes and all trucks from all the trucking companies must provide an inverter in the truck… also, I know trucks do shut on and off based upon temperature so you have to be just at the point of sweating your ass off or just at the point of freezing and go one notch over that before anything cycles on and off shaking my damn head

To make a change and make it stick for life , all trucks are gonna have to stop and I mean all trucks , when train yards and ship yards are backed up and all the nation starts running out of supply's . That's the only way a change is gonna happen . The government needs to be reminded who's in charge . We the people , not them

Even company drivers can pull the i don't want to deliver to California issue. Just say i do not feel safe delivering into California. Crime, and emission laws could effect my ability to deliver a load safely, and within legal standards. Companies can not force you to go then. I have been into California once in my career. Saw a lady at the truck stop walk right out of the truck stop with a hand full of stolen items. After that i said those magic words and i was never sent back into that state again. We need all drivers striking in that state. If i was still driving, i would not be delivering there. You are putting food on your plate to starve tomorrow by doing so. Screw the present. Think about trucking future. It's amazing how Canadians had more balls than american truck drivers. We should be ashamed of our inability to make a impact. The truth is we should be drawing the line further than cali. It needs to be a 14hr ride into the other states that surround it so day cab drivers can't shift loads to the state in one shift. Then they will get no freight unless it comes off a ship. That's how it needs to be done.

Forget new york, new jersey, california. Toxic waste states.
Parking everywhere sucks. Pennsylvania has their bs rules for rest areas as well as too sharp parking lines, many places just angle the lines sharper claiming they made "new" parking. Only now you can't use every other parking spot if you plan on getting out or having a hood in the morning.
Yes North Dakota im speaking at you with the i29 1st rest area going south bound. Or any of the ones near Minneapolis.

lawmaker have to go to busy truck stop . Go to orange california truckstop . I am not against electric . But california has to supply an anonymous method to improve the trucker odds of going electric . As is ? I was lookIng inside a tesla battery . That is not viable for truck . Put a second method to tell you tip to improve what already exist . You will not get better result from electric once hydrocarbon vehicule assembly line bean counter mistake are fixed
