    Take care of your health!!! Blood pressure is definitely a problem for alot of drivers! Keep it at or less than 140/90 ❤ according to 2024 medical examiner handbook

    • @WesleyPettit-su2rq
      @WesleyPettit-su2rq 25 дней назад +1

      Yeah they should put a live monitor on the drivers and watch their blood pressure every time they see a cop get on the freeway to go after their big rollin ATM machine, or the scale house I bet their drivers blood pressure gets up over 200 every time that happens 20 times a day. .

    • @WesleyPettit-su2rq
      @WesleyPettit-su2rq 25 дней назад +3

      Probably their blood pressure goes up every time they get a Walmart load knowing they're going to be stuck for some four or five hours of unpaid detainment at both ends and again their blood pressure goes up when the ELD is saying drive and they're tired and they need to sleep or the ELD says park it because you're not tired but you don't have any hours to legally move the load .

    • @WesleyPettit-su2rq
      @WesleyPettit-su2rq 25 дней назад +2

      Why don't they go after the root cause of the high blood pressure which is the federal regulations and your dispatcher and the stupid ass Walmart loads

Let’s not forget, no power steering, no air conditioning, no air ride, no walk in sleeper, we had cab overs where you had to crawl over the dog house into your little cave and sleep. Oh yeah, and a dispatcher with a 100 mph desk. Had to carry 2-3 log books and a tool box to fix a truck that you didn’t even own. Now let’s talk about pay. 💰

    My husband ignored his for years...he ran about 158 to 160. He was given medication and just didn't take it. He had a massive brain stem stroke while he was driving. After months of rehab he learned to swallow, walk and talk again. He will never drive again. I drive solo now. If I could go back, I wish this had been in effect then, it would have forced him to be compliant. I not only miss my partner that was a constant presence for over 20 years, but I also miss the man he was. He has no short term memory. We can have a conversation today, and he won't remember it tomorrow.

    Remember 9/11. Cops and firefighters were considered heroes. Then the pandemic hits and truckers were considered "essential". We were hailed as the modern day hero's. Now we are the target for the FMCSA/State/Federal government agencies to raise revenue (it doesn't matter how). They want our dollars, all the while basically saying everything wrong on America's highways is truckers fault. I'm so tired of hearing this BS. We all need to take a 90 day vacation. See how long it takes them to change their tune.

If this happens, they will further over-regulate trucking thereby further decreasing wages and replacing us with incompetent drivers who need to jump through fewer hoops to drive a gasoline tanker while making it "safer" but reducing speeds and more.

I have to take a DOT physical once a year instead of 2 years because of my hypertensive condition. Mine is hereditary but manageable. Anyone else remember the good old days when you could stop at just about any truck stop and find a office nearby, walk in and give them $25, show them you could move your arms and legs, see red yellow green and they would hand you a DOT physical card and you were off and trucking?
    Then the government steps in and the doctors want you to pay $100 to fail you until you go have tests done at your expense before they will pass you. Nothing but a money grab. I've known too many truck drivers of all ages that have died from medical conditions while driving, that passed DOT physicals. If you fail a physical, the doctors should be required to fill out a form for the driver to be able to collect full disability since the job is usually the cause of the health problems.

      I paid $119. She failed but gave me a 90 day card saying I need a sleep study because I have a large neck and over 40. She told me if I got the paperwork to them in 45 days or less they will give me full medical card. My doctor was pissed because I did one 3 years ago. Did the sleep study the following week. Brought the paperwork in as she said I have 45 days. She said no you have to pay the full $119 for a full exam again but you should wait until July when this medical card is almost expired. So it’s a money grab. What are they going to find this time???????

Give your body to adjust to the medication to bring your blood pressure down. Also, the doctor that’s going to work with you on the DOT physical they’re out there one more piece of advice. Go in the morning right after you’ve gotten up. Make sure you do nothing the day before, stay completely relaxed

Most of the truckers on the road don’t even have degrees, or anything else to qualify for other jobs. Also, their backgrounds are disgusting because when they are checked, all the agents find is negative stuff like problems with the law, and a lot more. I am a trucker myself (8 OTR Years) and I never opted to be part of that majority. I am part of the minority that prepared themselves for other stuff out of trucking, in case something like this happens. That way I won’t be crying about trucking like other folks around here. 😂Hahaha.…

    We have a profession that combined excessive hours, irregular sleep, extended time away from home, with limited quality meal and exercise options with the stresses of the occupation itself and then put this BP requirement over our heads. I was a truck driver over 40 years and retired , we have seen regulation after regulation to keep drivers pay down and more ways to get drivers off the road ,This is just another scam to get more truck drivers on medications that only help the pharmaceutical Industy and another way to keep truck drivers going to the doctor spending his time and his own money away from his job, I luckily didn't have blood pressure issues but switched my diet to a carnoviore diet after years of allergies and seeing doctors for them, Now after a year on the diet my issues are all but gone, My BP is better then ever and my health is the best it's ever been , so I would encourage truck drivers to try to eat healthy and look into a carnoviore diet or a keto diet because we all know the industry is full of over weight drivers and bad habits due to the scheduling and time away from home and family, keep up the good work truckers and stay healthy.

    Look into doing a kidney cleanse, liver cleanse and general detox. Dr Hulda Clark has good books on it. Yes, your diet needs to change. If you cut out all refined carbs, it will happen pretty quick. Also look into keto/carnivore. Dr Berg, Dr Osborne, and many others have great videos on this.

    Weight loss is critical. For each 10 percent of weight loss, you can drop 10 pts of BP because each pound of body fat has thousands of miles of capillaries that the heart must supply with blood. By that rule I can drop at least 10 pts. Exercise and diet will be more effective when the weight is controlled
    I can see a significant drop in BP by only five minutes of deep breathing exercises - which researchers claim naturally produces potassium nitrate - the substance that relaxes blood vessels and is found in foods like beets

    Well i took my medical exam last month I'm a General Contractor/Carpenter/Handyman now, I don't drive trucks anymore but I still have my CDL Class A w/ Airbrakes, Triple and Doubles, and Passenger Endorsement in my license. I took my DOT medical exam last month, I noticed the clinics and hospital's Blood Pressure measuring devices are made in China and they are so inaccurate! Non of the Clinic staffs nowadays can read and use the old school Traditional blood pressure monitoring device with a mercury, for the medical doctors and nurses out there you know what im talking about!! Before I left home i took blood pressure, in my end I'm using a 1987 version of the blood pressure monitoring/measuring device and this device is so damn accurate at pinpoint. It registered @ 120/92 and I took some aspirin to maintain my blood pressure at normal rates. I wasn't stress or tired that day
    Then in the clinic when the nurse took my blood pressure using their stupid digital blood pressure device that are made in china it registered 160/118 what the heck? Is my artery gonna pop out already ? I found out that the clinic is using a faulty blood pressure measuring device I threatened the Physician that IF they didn't use the proper accurate ones and IF they didn't re test again I will sue them big time IF I lose my license. So folks! Don't use the Chinese made digital ones! They are so inaccurate, I'm surprised that an AK-47 rifle can still shoot straight and accurate but the device that the DOT clinics are using are worse! So folks learn how to use the old school ones!

    We have to eat healthy stop eating hotdogs and highly processed truck stop food. Also try exercising and MEGA WALKING. In major cities 60 is more than generous for traffic conditions. However these open country highways I do disagree with 60 mph. But I’m sure the hourly earners would state differently 😂🎉

    I've never had any issues in my 23 years of driving I've always gotten my DOT physical medical card for 2 years and this past December I ended up with a little bit over on my blood pressure and they only gave me 12 months of certification they're trying to get rid ove experienced drivers and want New blood out on the highways this is ridiculous 🤦

    We can not (as he can not) maintain a 116-124/65. It is not the 140/80 or 90 (or /84) that bites here. It is the "Kent and Barbie" projection that keyboard ninja's are suing for in the regulations. We are being systematically weeded out more ways than one.
    This is sickening. We as humans have a natural growth that we incorporate naturally as we get age. This man devoted his life to his passion and this is the reward. Yet he is still just fine.
    1). Male
    2). At 45 or older
    3). All they need is one more hit on your life.
    A broken bone in high school. A headache. A little lower back pain. A sore hip. Weaker knees. An elbow joint that doesn't flex as it used too. Maybe a little arthritis. A mole on the top of your finger will be called into question as that third hit. Anything! Just one more hit on anything to do with your body and the system will start your downward motion...out the door!
    One phenomenally huge Mega-Carrier is doing this very thing right now. They have been since they won it from SCOTUS in 2012. You will pay to work there. You will pay CPAP, the doctor in Baltimore for his advice, the machine, full medical eval/reval...and you will PAY DEARLY for the next year.
    SCOTUS approved.
    You don't like it? Go get another medical from some place else totally different and move on. I did it. I received two since and haven't missed a beat (or a turn). I run OTR.
    This man is being railroaded to return to age 25, driving a truck, get a 4-day a week gym membership, eat chicken alfredo at Olive Garden with extra angel hair. We are truckers. We have been truckers for an entire generation, two generations (for decades) and are being systematically replaced by weed-eaters anonymous because they can fit tight blue jeans and stove pipes selling their next marriage label.
    Screw'em. Leave the guy alone. Leave us alone. I swear to The Living God that is in me I could spit some beechnut in these people's eyes.

    Go find a fly by night DOT Physical “clinic” and tip the white coat $50. They’ll write you in at a passing number

      Stay away from concentra because they will charge you almost $200 for a dot physical and will measure your neck and when you open your mouth and they can't see the back of your throat, they will only extend you for 3 months and automatically put you in sleep study. They tried to do that to me last year. Had to go to a different place to get it done and they only charged $80 and didn't have to go through all that hassle. Also try not to eat anything the night before or the morning that you go and don't tell them anything that you normally would share only with your personal doctor. The less they know, the better.

    It would be interesting to see if the FFA adopts that same policy. They greatly lowered their cardiac function requirements after they jabbed all the pilots. They 'used to be' really strict.
