Spartan Enclosed Trailer 1 Year Review (8,000 miles)

- I purchased a new enclosed trailer a few hours away from my location. I set out to buy one trailer but ended up coming home with this one. I spent a little more than I expected but feel I came out with a better unit that will last years to come. Take note of the little things that will make a difference over time. I paid extra for the LED lighting, semi-rivet-less panels, tie down hooks and more. There are so many different variables that go into the decision making process. Unless you really pay a bunch of money for the perfect trailer I believe that all trailers will have some flaws. So take a look at what I found on mine and use that to assist your buying process. I am very happy with my trailer and I've made a few improvements here and there to ensure that it will last me for years to come.

Very good review! it's what you can expect from daily use which you addressed and it seems like you take very good care of it and fix the issues you have.
just to throw it out there the rear tires are your drag tires, when you take corners the rear just drags on the ground more so than the fronts. that said your rear will always wear faster but you could also be right about the ride height as a compounding issues. Good review
Thank you for your review Sir, I think that you did a great job. I was looking at their trailers; good info to have.
Thanks for watching!
I bought a Spartan last October to help move to our new house down south. We have taken 5 trips and just got home yesterday and the siding on the drivers side is peeling off! I called Spartan and they said it's a COMMON issue? NICE! It's under warranty but buyer beware.
I added more self tapping screws to my exterior panels. I’m glad to hear it’s under warranty.
Thanks for the review. I have a new one and finding electrical wiring through the underside frame had rubber grommet missing where the wire is passing through the frame and wrong type of connectors . Holes drilled wrong , some holes are just burnt through and can't use rubber grommet . I am going over it and making it right. Your roof sealer looks better than mine , the 90 degree corners are bent wrong on roof the corner sticks up . I will have to check the screws on the sides that they are tight so I don't lose one . Some bad wields on frame that are starting to rust already that need work. Other than that I like it.
Most of these trailers a built at a price point. Definitely some areas that need improvement but overall it's served my intended purpose.
The vinyl installer cut corners, which is evident that the screws weren't removed then reinstalled in the process of applying graphics. To buy what you have will now cost 50% to 100% more than it did in March 2020. Go to a better brand such as R&R or Neo, will cost you 3 to 4 times more.. I really didn't see many issues that were makers fault.
Little duct tape on that door chain or wire lume will help prevent it from snagging.
Spartan Trailers are the best! I love mine!!!
How long have you had yours and how often do you use it?
@@ThriftyGarage only a month. Car hauler with 7000 pound axles. Everyone always asks about it and compliments it at shows.
What is the tongue height of the trailer receiver? I'm ordering a 7x14" spartan enclosed double axle and my ranger sits kinda high so trying to figure out how deep of a drop I need on the ball mount.
I don’t think you want to pull a 7x14 with a ranger what year is it
3:13 - 3:16, yeah, I know the feeling.
at 2:50, a quick wrap with electrical tape will keep it from catching. Same problem on a smaller trailer...
Thanks! I'll have to give it a shot.
Put a piece of old garden hose over the door stop spring.
Did you whip them???
Whip what?
How tall is the trailer
Going through a fast food drive through it will clear a 9’ sign but not 8’6”. I believe it is 6” taller inside than some standard enclosed trailers. I wouldn’t go any shorter for everyday use and head clearance.
To me it sounds like a bunch of owner era . I mean if you use it everyday it’s gonna get wear . Them tires are junk . Replace them . Maybe do more research before you buy another trailer . Just my thoughts .
I should have done more research and I definitely should have bought a more expensive trailer. You get what you pay for and this was one step above the economy brands. I should have bought a pro/premium brand. I’m sure it would be fine for a homeowner but after 5 years it’s falling apart.
Cheap cargo trailers = 3 years and it’s garbage.
I’m going on the third year and it’s holding up pretty good. I did have some of the self tapping screws backing out. I reinstalled them with Loctite. Hoping that will be a good long term solution.
Not even a full year and the 5 I’ve got are garbage
What application are you using them for?
@@ThriftyGarage I hope you get more years out of your trailer. If you gents/ladies want a real trailer that will last for decades then check out Uprising Engineering USA.
Looks like a stout unit!
