  • Today we're taking you on an in-depth tour of our 2020 enclosed trailer setup and just honestly what to look out for as you upgrade your trailer setup this spring. There's more investments to be made as you purchase a new trailer than just the trailer as you can imagine, so I wanted to break that all down for you guys.
    This was one of the most requested topics back on our 80K subscriber video, was just to explain more about our trailer setup and the thought process of why everything is placed the way it is, and a full break down of what everything costs.
    I hope you guys enjoy the video, I really tried to think about all the questions I had when I was looking to upgrade to a larger enclosed trailer 3 and a half years ago. I know how much of a struggle it was financially for us to make an investment like this, and all of the millions of questions I had along the way! Hope you guys enjoy!

    Nice video Brian! I love seeing inclosed setups. Just last season I went from a utility trailer to a box truck setup. I love it so much more just like you mentioned. My box truck was a used 14' Penske truck so the yellow really sticks out. I'm currently getting it wrapped and that was just under $3,000, but it'll be a nice rolling billboard for my business. I don't think I'll ever go back to an open trailer. Have a great 2022 season!

    Just bought my new trailer. Went with 2019 Wells Cargo enclosed trailer. 8 x 20 with the 5,000 lbs axle. I decide not to go with roof vents because with time they get beat up by sun. Eventually i started having small leaks there from my past experience. Man im so happy with my new trailer! Ready for the season.

    This video is my playbook for working on my 2022 enclosed trailer - thank you again Brian for sharing with the Community. I just completed building two wood shelves located in the same location as your workbench area. Trailer is 7x16 Sure-Trac Pro-Series with 7' wide, I can not place the Kombi under the workbench. All good. Just ordered that TRAILER-AID product from Amazon - single unit on sale today.

      Hey thanks man I appreciate that. We try really hard. I know what you mean with saving time and money, videos like this, even as simple as they are, were so critical for me back when I was trying to upgrade. Unfortunately there just weren’t as many videos like this back then, which stunk, but I appreciated every time I did stumble across a good one. Thanks for watching!

    These trailers are so smart. Non of the grounds maintenance contractors have these in the UK as they tend to either have a open trailer which is either flat bed or a open trailer with side panels or a large van with panel, pickup or flatbed body styles. The one thing I like about these trailers you have in the USA is that they are so well laid out inside and it stops undesirable people eyeing up your equipment to steal.

    Suggestion. The space between the front of the trailer that ends and to the hitch, you can add a spare tire and a tool box and other misc stuff there. You are towing empty space that you could put some stuff there to free up space in your enclosed trailer..
    Also a thought is to put a 5 gallon jug a little high on the door in the inside, so when you open it, there's a 5 gallon jug so people may drink water.
    Hope this helps out a little.

    Another option of security is chaining your front tires around the leaf springs.with a good wheel lock , 1st chain supply sells a high security chain and locks that might be a option for open and enclosed trailers

    • @BriansLawnMaintenance
      @BriansLawnMaintenance  4 года назад

      I evaluated wheel locks, but those are easier to pick or remove the tire then even a coupler lock. Again, can’t hurt, but locks are a funny topic.

Also, Sure-Trac must have listened to you when you pointed out in your (Sure-Trac Trailer In-depth walk around) video, on that you had to install a bumper for the side door, because they now come with a bumper for the door.

    Hi Brian! This is Sam Hanson from Bismarck North Dakota! This winter I bought an enclosed trailer for my snow equipment. I bought a 7’x 14’, But I had them put in 5000 pound axles, two vents with 12 V fans in the vents, and three utility lights. Oh, and I also put in from the outside electrical plug-ins! I had to raise the height of the inside of the trailer because I’ve got a John Deere snowblower with a cab on it and so I had to make room for the cab! Was is it overkill, maybe, but it’s a sweet trailer! 👍 Sincerely, Sam Hanson 😎🇺🇸

    • @alexott7172
      @alexott7172 3 года назад

      @@Draega007 yes it possibly will be but you could always put your other equipment in the truck bed... or put the racks closer to the front that way you drive your mower out first and you have room. If you have a side door hook a blower rack to it for easy accessibility.

    Great video right now I’m 15 and looking to buy an enclosed trailer for this summer so I can keep my things in it and not in my shed but then of course next summer when I get mylicense of course I still would be using the trailer this summer and I have 2 zero turns one being a gravely mid mount and the other being a grasshopper front mount mower and then of course like two blowers two weedeaters and a push mower as well as five or six gas cans do you think The best idea would be to buy it used or new I would think used just because at this point in my life I don’t have 10 grand to throw at a trailer because you know I want to still have some money left over keep up the good work. Hopefully everything goes well I just found a new 8.5x16 ft enclosed trailer a vnose prayin everything goes well.

I have 2 strips going down the middle and 2 strips running horizontally on both side. Brian is exactly correct on the locks why in the world would you have 10 - 20k in equipment and a cheap lock. What's it like driving the enclosed trailer? Do you have to avoid city streets and are there customers you can't service because it's a dead end with no turn around? And what's it like driving that on the highway, changing lanes etc. It seems like you would need some great driving skills.

A real time saver.for trucks and equipment. .I would recommend the Audew or Top Vision, with a minimum of 2200amh. I am not sponsered, but know what works for me and others.

    I also think you need a 5 gallon water tank on the ground with a 12volt high pressure pump from an RV/boat and a 25’ coiled hose to wash the dog poop off the mower wheels. I hate the smell of dog poop in the trailer or on my mower.

    looks like its about time for a new leaf rake buddy. You shoulda came down to ga for your enclosed. That one would probably cost around 4k down here.

      Yeah but then my local dealer goes out of business and I have to drive to GA for service. And plus, the trailer might be $200 cheaper, not $4,000.

    Excellent video. Did you install the plywood on the walls of the trailer or did it come that way? Do you know if it's 1/2" or 3/4" ? Also, where did you purchase the spare tire rack? Thanks

    • @BriansLawnMaintenance
      @BriansLawnMaintenance  4 года назад

      They came with it. I think they’re 1/4 or 1/2”. The tire rack was an upgrade from the manufacturer.

    • @SteveK99Sub
      @SteveK99Sub 4 года назад +1

      @@BriansLawnMaintenance You sure? Was wondering how the racks were attached to the walls. Did you install them? 1/4" or even 1/2" is not a lot of material to hold a screw. Especially with a trailer that could be a little bouncy..

    Bri., it's a great set up Fo Sho!! Now you know my set up is no where near that elaborate. If you take any 2 cents worth of advice from me it would be to get small magnet rolls or sheet magnets & a small labeling machine & label what you have in each cabinet on the inside of each door. This way you can change out the lists as your needs change inside each cabinet. Hoping all is well Bud, Dirty Jersey out!!

    Hey Brian, recent fan but been enjoying a lot of the content, I literally come home from work and wonder what the algorithm of you tube has provided me with BLM..... my question for you is, what does a weekend warrior lawn maintenance guy need? Does he need a trailer? A little red wagon perhaps?

    When it comes to the E Track, (I understand putting them on the floor to tie down your equipment to the floor). But when it comes to future growth, if you are able to, have you thought about putting it right above the fenders? That way it will reduce all the junk that will get in them & you are able to tie down other things in the future?

    • @BriansLawnMaintenance
      @BriansLawnMaintenance  4 года назад

      Jeremy Lane I haven’t considered that. That’s not a bad idea. I just don’t know if I can bolt thru the fenders or sidewalls like I can with the thick floor. Thoughts?

    • @TalmidofMemra
      @TalmidofMemra 4 года назад

      Brian's Lawn Maintenance You could try putting it on the fenders, but I was actually referring to putting it on the walls just above the fenders..... With all the equipment that you have on the walls, not sure how high you can put it on the walls. I’m not sure on what is the correct way to install it on the walls, but I have seen a video or two which people have installed it on their walls. If you able to, you wouldn’t have to deal with all the junk getting in the E Track.
